We had an amazing stay at Hodelpa Novus Plaza. We were welcomed with sparkling wine upon arrival and check in was very smooth. Staff is friendly and the hotel is pretty new and has a young and modern design. Rooms are cozy and clean. We were 3 and were assigned to a 3 twin beds room, it was great as we preferred to sleep on our own. There was complimentary water and enough toiletries for us all. The beds are really comfortable and there is a cable tv as well to entertain. There is no microwave or mini fridge in the room but there is a microwave at the lobby and they can take a mini fridge to your room if you request it. The breakfast buffet "El Patio" is lovely, with very fresh bright colors, with smoking and non-smoking areas so there is a comfortable space for everyone. The food is very good and there is a nice variety of hot and cold drinks and breakfast. We truly enjoyed our stay in this city hotel, it is right in the heart of Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo so it is easy to walk anywhere in the area.

The hotel is clean safe and a bargain to stay on a visit to Santo Domingo. There is no parking available, only street parking. What I experienced is that the front doors are locked and closed during the night so my exit was hindered until the staff woke up and unlocked the door at 2am. They remained polite and no issues. There is a small but nice casino in front. It is not Caesar palace only a small area to game. The area is historic and nice.

This hotel is a great value. It's right off the main street and near many attractions, but it's also not very loud (there was some noise from a nearby bar, but for me it wasn't too bad). The room was large and clean, and the staff was very friendly. I'd stay again without hesitation.

I do not recommend. Very cheap environment. Bad breakfast. Air conditioning did not work throughout the hotel, it took a long time to repair, they lied all the time. Terrible attitude towards guests.

This place was great, the wifi is decent, the food is good, it's in the middle of town and the rooms are cozy. The rooms that I was in are 2-3 beds but they use the space wisely with twin beds. One little thing that got me is that the beds are on wheels which are on hard floors so they move VERY easily. There is Ethernet in some rooms, just it's plugged into the tv box (do not unplug it on the Cisco branded router side.) I would go again if I come back down here.

Tv did not worked, hot water at the shower was on and off. Little refrigerator was driping water. Great location but rooms need lots or improvements.

This is an economical and safe hotel. Staff was always willing to help. Because it is in the Colonial Zone, the building at times had an odd smell. I had to change my room. Easy walking distance to many sites.

stayed here with my daughter. The location is great. The rooms are small, and they definitely need as upgrade. The AC work great but the sheet are so thin its ridiculous so you'll be cold the whole night. If you like beds that are hard then you'll be fine, but if you dont, get ready to wake up with pains. They do give plenty of towels though. There was no electrical socket in the bathroom, or enough in general in the room. The safe also did not work. the closet had enough space. My window also did not close all the way. The pillows were also very small.

Rooms are super small, and outdated. We were 2 adults and 2 young kids, and there was not enough room to open our luggage and to walk around. The safe did not work, and even though we asked them to fix it, it was not working until we checked out. The hotel is very pricey for what you get, and feels more like a hostel than a hotel. Breakfast was ok, but breakfast staff was not friendly and when we asked them for coffee they ignored us. In addition, we parked across from the hotel, and our side mirrors were stolen. This happened to multiple vehicles on that street. There is a hotel that looks very nice a block away for less money, I would try that one instead, as the location is the only good thing.

Single worst hotel I’ve stayed in. They charge you if you want someone to come to your room for 5 minutes to get a bag they left. There’s ants in the bathroom. The over night front desk guy cared more about getting drunk with the guests than doing his job. Honestly stay somewhere else anywhere else. This place is horrible.

The check-in process was quick and simple. The room was small but okay. The location is privileged if you wish to visit the Colonial Zone, you can perfectly walk to the Cathedral, Columbus Park, and many other interesting locations. A supermarket is a few steps away.

The rooms themselves are ok, but some are located adjecent to the busiest street with lots of music coming through the windows, even late at night. The food was awful, very small selection of dishes, the edible ones were gone in an instant and the waiting time for replenishing them was really long. There's only 1 lift so you have to wait for it for a while. On the plus side it's really close to tourist attractions and restaurants. Edit: on our second stay the food was better and I've heard the hotel is good value so I raised the rate by one star. Just know that you get what you pay for.

Nice hotel. Cute aesthetic, clean, friendly staff. I felt safe there; the front desk staff speaks English. The location can't be beat: on the corner of Calle Hostos and the pedestrian El Conde. Right next to a great cigar shop; a block from the Cathedral. Walk to the Rum Museum (free) and the Chocolate Factory & Store (free samples.) Note: the mini bar is jam-packed full of drinks and snacks; be mindful, so you don't get charged by mistake. If it had a pool, it would be perfect! -and then it would probably cost more. 😄

Absolutely excellent hotel in the heart of the colonial city here. I loved the breakfast, the cosy room, the location and fast Wi-Fi.

The hotel staff was friendly and supportive. I enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was very different to the continental type. The entrance has always a security guard and the receptionist. Located in one of the most touristic areas of the Colonial city, it has everything you need at walking distance. Banks, supermarket, casino, night clubs, restaurants, empanadas places, arepas places, other fast food options like kfc, clothes stores, tobacco shops, souvenir stores. Some of them are not shown in google maps. The humidity is a real concern in the building. The first night I got a room with a very strong moldy smell, I talked in reception about it and they were able to give me another room which didn’t have any issues. I was happy again. There’s a little store in the ground floor where they sell handy stuff (food, toothbrush, toothpaste, non-alcoholic drinks, shaving 🪒 machines, etc. ) There’s a surcharge of 300 DOP in every withdrawal from the ATM, and 30% for card payment in most places in the Dominican Republic, but the cost of living in very low compared to other countries. All in all a the experience was great.

The room is really small but have all the necessities. Staff is really nice. Breakfast is good. And the location is excellent right in the colonial area, restaurants and shops are walking distance. I recommend this place for sure.

Nice staff, good breakfast wich is included but one of the rooms that my family rented had pubic hair on the beds, the safe was dusty and found long hair and in the other my daughter found a roach. They gave us another room but after that I couldn't sleep.

The hotel in general needs an upgrade. The rooms need to be remodeled. Bring your own sheets as they are very thin. The AC worked well but the sheets didnt help. The breakfast was good but the dinner arrangements are not good as you have to walk about 4 blocks to another restaurant by the same hotel group. Customer service could also improve significantly.

I was on tour with EF Tours and had a great experience here. The staff was polite and the rooms were comfortable. The Plaza about a block down the road was a awesome place to hang out at. There is a Popsicle shop called Paletas Morelia in the plaza that is really good and you should definitely try. Located near a very historical place in the DR.
