If I could give this place six stars, I would. It’s a beautiful small boutique hotel in a historic building in the colonial center. Charming rooms and a peaceful courtyard and roof terrace. Interesting exhibits and artefacts about the beatas and the history of colonial Santo Domingo. The people were lovely and very obliging. Nice breakfast. I really couldn’t fault the place and would return in a heartbeat!

It's like sleeping in a part of history with its original fortitude. I couldn't have picked a better place that's safe and yet close within walking distance to all of the city's historic venues.

Everything was amazing! Location, super old fashioned guest house and museum; lots of history! Rooms spacious and well maintained, bed super comfortable, pillows as well. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, such cute people! Breakfast is simple and tasty! They also have a nice and quiet terrace, go and check it out! As the doors are old and not fully covering, mosquitoes enter the rooms and they are a lot. Also seems private, but not fully.

We stayed at 1st floor room, it has a lot of character as in old styled building, but no actual glass window so it makes the room look like a dungeon without the natural light. The shower is good. It has hot shower, the drain was a little slow to drain, but the host was quick to come fix. Wifi works good outside of the room, inside of the room, not so good. The breakfast was quite good, You can choose either fried egg, boil egg or omelet. They give you coffee, bread, cheese, ham, muffin, banana bread, chopped fruits, passion fruit juice. Location is great! Walking distance to everything in the colonial zone. It is also surprisingly quiet and the bed is super comfortable.

Good location, practically the center of the old town.Nice outdoor patio. But breakfast with very little choice. Staff only speak Spanish.Maids did not leave large towels after cleaning the room. Musty smell in the room. The bed is full of WORMS falling from the ceiling. Had to change the room during the night because the bed was full of worms….it was horrible experience in Dominica Republic.

If you are looking for a simplistic experience, in the depth of Santo Domingo, you don’t need to look any further. With only 11 rooms, this is as unique as you may get around. Hotel staff is very friendly, the rooms make you feel like you are in the 16th century (except for the hot water), and the location is just perfect.

What a lovely place! The room was perfect, the courtyard beautiful, breakfast was scrumptious, and the rooftop patio a pleasant bonus. We walked down the street to el hugo for dinner which was extremely tasty and brought back some presidents to enjoy on the roof at el beaterio. The room had mini split AC so we were comfortable. In room #6 we had a king bed with a twin and patio just outside our door. We also heard from our tour guide that the property was owned by Christopher Columbus's son Diegos wife before it was a convent. Listening to the short rain storm with our door open was cool too. The staff was friendly, happy and accommodating.

Very nice place. The staff is awesome. Clean, comfortable and well ventilated rooms with a lot of natural light. Delicious 😋 breakfast. Very quiet neighborhood. 5 minutes walk to all the historical places. All the building is extremely beautiful.

Had a wonderful time, it's a boutique hotel very well placed and clean. The terrace is beautiful too but if you are a tourist you might want to explore the city old city by foot, so off you go! A bit of caution if you are traveling heavy: the rooms are on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator. It wasn't a problem for me and the wife with our 4 pieces of luggage.

Excellent!!!!! The staff are top tier! They are the best part of our stay. The rooms are clean and fresh. So much to say about this historic gem. I will definitely choose this hotel over n over again!

Great place, clean and good breakfast always included! 5 minute walk to all attractions, restaurants and nightlife! When I head to the Colonial Zone I always head to Beaterio!!

Lovely historic space. It was super special to stay in a Museum! Rooms are small, but that suits me fine. Air con was needed and was good. Breakfast was filling and fresh. Location is excellent and on street parking is easier than in most other hotels. Only downside was the bed was very soft and not sure how my cranky 48 year old back would handle multiple nights. BUT I will stay again and try a different room upstairs.

Decent hotel, could invest a bit more into cleanliness. For that price there are better options.

Not so great for 165 $ per night with no cleaning and no towels. The cleaning was weird as they removed the towels from the previous day but not e.g. the trash. We had to ask a few times for towels which was just annozing and at the end we got only two towels for 3 people also no towel for the slippery floor with our kid which I really did not like. Location is nice and the building is beautiful.

Great location, beautiful courtyard and decor. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. Check in a bit inefficient and slow. No elevator for the 1st floor rooms, narrow stairs and no help was offered with bags
