The
pillows
suck.
Ok
that
gets
all
the
negatives
out
of
the
way.
I
was
getting
some
immigration
paperwork
taken
care
of
and
needed
multiple
nights
of
stay
so
they
came
off
their
walk-up
price.
Ended
up
about
two
thirds
of
what's
published
on
booking
sites.
The
location
was
ideal.
I
had
plenty
of
time
to
kill
between
my
immigration
appointments
so
I
walked
a
lot.
Easy
6
to
8
block
walk
to
Calle
Conde
which
leads
down
into
the
Colonial
Zone.
Three
blocks
south
is
the
Malecón,
a
street
that
runs
along
the
Caribbean.
Only
thing
there
is
that
crossing
over
the
street
is
certain
death
except
on
Sundays
when
traffic
vanishes.
I've
Uber'd
out
of
this
area.
A
block
north
or
south
are
busy
streets
with
public
transportation
or
taxis.
8
or
10
blocks
west
and
you
can
jump
on
the
Metro
subway.
For
your
money
the
rooms
are
spartan
but
contain
the
basics.
TV,
good
wifi,
a/c,
firm
bed,
shower
with
great
pressure
and
gobs
of
hot
water.
I
had
a
room
away
from
the
street
and
it
was
quiet.
Made
friends
with
the
staff
and
got
room
cleaned
and
linen
and
towels
changed
every
three
days.
They
have
their
own
laundry
facilities
up
on
the
roof
and
Carmen
washed,
dried
and
folded
my
clothes
for
a
few
hundred
pesos.
They
have
over
80
solar
panels
up
on
the
roof
so
no
power
interruptions.
That's
a
big
deal
anywhere
in
this
country.
Security
at
the
hotel
was
great.
An
employee
unlocks
the
gate
and
locks
it
again
after
every
entry
or
exit.
In
this
area
of
Gásque
there
are
multiple
restaurants
or
cafeterias
with
local
foods.
Banks,
copy
stores,
colmado
for
snacks
and
cold
beer,
and
a
great
fruit
smoothie
stand
around
the
corner
called
Benefruta
(see
my
review).
I
highly
recommended
La
Gran
Mansión.
Value
for
your
pesos.
I'll
be
back.
