(Translated by Google) A park that everyone should visit! Here you can feel the real spirit of Santo Domingo, the old colonial City. There are atmospheric recreation areas, cafes, restaurants, the First Cathedral of the New World, a monument to Columbus. Street musicians play here, sell souvenirs, you can sit on the benches and enjoy the beauty of the city, try street food. Feeding pigeons is also a whole attraction.

The old Santo Domingo City Hall is one of the most emblematic buildings of the city's Colonial Zone. Has been the place where many of the most important decisions in the country have been made. For years, it functioned as a bank, a jail and a police station. Today, is a space for art exhibitions and cultural activities.

Fabulous colonial Baroque building at a different time of day. The clock seems not working.

I love the old Colonial style architecture and the building's Grand Architectural Gestures that leaves you feeling as though time is going in reverse. From the vintage fixtures to the aged documents it houses. This place was made for history freak.....

The Town Hall Palace. It is another of the historical monuments of Santo Domingo. This building, which is located on the corner of Calle el Conde and Arzobispo Meriño, has not only witnessed transcendent events in national history, it has also been the place where many of the most important decisions in the country have been made. The Town Hall is located in Colón Park, in Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic. The historic building dates back to 1502-1504. It was built as the residence of the mayor, but in the 19th century it was completely remodeled, giving it the neoclassical style typical of the time. Years later, in 1913, the 29-meter-high tower that characterizes the corner of the current town hall was added, where you can see the clock. The Town Hall was once the city hall. Today it is a contemporary museum that shows the history of Santiago through photographs from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It includes a room focused solely on carnival culture.

Beautiful historical building, right in front of the plaza. Not to mention with police walking and driving around at all times. You truly feel so relax walking around in the middle of so much history...
