Long established traditional Spanish bar and restaurant which nearest thing to a traditional tapas bar in Santo Domingo. Usually packed Monday to Friday with a regular business crowd, a separate bar and (excellent) Spanish restuarant. The bar serves a good range of tapas and you can also order from the restaurant menu. The restaurant is known for its excellent Spanish cuisine and service, it often full during the week with business people and at the weekend, with families. They also do a roaring trade in their renowned Paella to take away on Saturday and particularly Sunday. The service is fast, efficient and friendly I heartily recommend a visit. N

Average, to expensive for what it is. Can be better, lacks quality of ingredients. Preparation is barely acceptable, no creativity, lot of inconsistency. Too much grease and use of cheap Oil. Potential is there since it sells a lot, but lack of dedication to achieve optimal result. PS: Woke up feeling horrible Quote: “Eat good, feel Good” In this eventuality it was not the case…

Famous Spanish restaurant en Santo Domingo but I was not impressed with their paella: too much rice, not enough seafood. Pulpo a la gallega was very good. Croquetas de paella were also good and different. Sangria was good as well as braised cod and callos madeileños

We were here years ago, were this restaurant was really exceptional. Now we found it mediocre at the best: the food and the service. The sides came late. The food was dry and without much taste. We ask for the wine card, but it come late, we had the food already served.

One of a kind and spectacular seafood paella and not to forget the grilled octopus and the salmon carpaccio ,,,, with the exception of the fried calamari and the ceviche everything else was outstanding and tasted good, By the way do not get super impressed by the amount of lobsters and the fish and the seafood because what you see in these pictures are what we ordered in double of everything and that’s why this paella look super rich and overloaded with all kind seafood and that comes with doubled price

This place is known for the atmosphere and the seafood. Linen table cloth and wine by the bottle, type of place. My visit was not what was expected. It took forever to get served.3 tables seated after my table got their food before us ( table for 2). Appetizers did not come out, and we had to ask about our meal. The lobster was so over cooked that I instantly regretted dining here. My advice is to find a family owned spot. They will treat you better.

Boga Boga was fantastic in every way. We went there for my fiancees birthday and the service was supreme - what you would expect from a five star restaurant. Every single food item we had - artichokes, ham, mushrooms, and the black ink seafood paella - were astounding. Best Spanish food I've ever had and one of the best dining experiences. Although there was a language barrier because my Spanish is not great, the staff really listened intently. We love red wine and were interested in something bold, spicy, perhaps mineral notes, full bodied, rich, etc. The waiter had to work through a language gap and still worked through several wines to give what we want. Dude pulls out a 17 year Tempranillo called Protos that blew our minds. It even looked like it was plundered from a sunken ship. We had a separate wine expert as some upscale restaurants have and he helped pick and discuss it with us. They let us keep the bottle and it is our favorite souvenir from the Dominican. They gave a wooden box and signed it. Phenomenal way to spend a birthday and a wonderful memory from a beautiful trip.

Didn't like las papas salteadas. Everything else was very good. Asked for 3/4 meat but there were spots it was rare meat. My partner had the same issue.

This restaurant has been around for many decades and it continues to bring its' "A" game. Make sure to make a reservation. It can fill up at any point, any day. I enjoy their Chillo al vapor with tostones. Their salpicón is pretty good as an appetizer and their Yuka empanadas with q variety of fillers. And the dessert cart is always giving you trouble because you don't know which one to pick, but my favorites are the Torta Santiago and Majarete. Seafood is preferred here, in my opinion, over other options, but they can still make steaks and pork options. Enjoy!

This is our favorite restaurant in the Dominican Republic. We come here every time we visit from the U.S. and are always so glad we came. The food is excellent, the bartenders are fun and professional, and the atmosphere is beautiful. We love Boga Boga 🩵

It was hot in there! Food was not as good as usual. Service was poor. Paella at Boga Boga was my point of reference, but this time, it wasn't excellent as it used to be even when we waited 40 minutes for it.

The food, service, and ambiance made for an excellent experience. I'm definitely going back before we leave. This salad was amazing .

Attentive servers. Paella was not the best. Pass on that. Caldo Gallego was not typical Spaniard. Expensive for sure!

Boga Boga is hands down a great place for food, I would say the best food I have experienced in my 63 countries! But if you are a businesswoman you should think twice about your attendance at this restaurant alone! The waiters are exceptional and the staff is great for the most post part! But if you are truly there simply trying to unwind as a businesswoman hang it up! Order your food to go unless Jose is serving you! The men in this place are rude and very piggish if you are a foreigner! They lack respect!! Nothing against the restaurant but they should be mindful of the people that are “regulars”. The regular people are running away business professionals!! Not all but some are rude and arrogant to say the least! As a veteran sergeant I am dissatisfied and disappointed that some of the old heads are rude and feel prideful to think you owe them conversation when you are simply trying to enjoy your Great cuisine! Remember the food is exceptional but order to go if you are a woman!

Not a great experience at all in this place, wouldn’t recommend it. Service was terrible from start to finish and it looks like the employees were on a hurry because they drop the check without me asking in the middle of my course. The only reason why I’m giving this two stars is because the Octopus carpaccio and the steak were decent. 4-5 different employees, almost everyone on their phones. The Cazuela de Maricos was bland and the maricos tasted old/off, when I told the server he said “okay” , removed it from the table and left, didn’t ask if we wanted anything else or what the issue was and I still got charged for it. Wouldn’t go back, I’ll much rather stick to Laurel or La Cassina..

Atmosphere is very cool, the food was good but not amazing or special. We ordered dessert and it wasn’t that good. But fried rice was good. Service was really good tho!

Every time I visit the Dominican Republic, which is often, I try to find a few good dining joints. This one here is in the Top 10 I've been to. If you ever have been to the DR, you would know it is a so called "poor" country and some areas can be quite sketchy... But make no mistake, they do have money that live and circulate through the DR. While the common person here lives poor as shyt (but you can say that about many countries, even America), you will see some upscale living and dining especially around the Blue Mall area on Churchill Avenue. Boga Boga is close to the Blue Mall. They have some good food and wine selections. If you can't speak Spanish, don't worry... Where you are spending good money, that is the only language you will need to speak... "Money" is understood around the world. Great dining experience. Check them out.

excellent meal. We ordered some paellas of meat and another of seafood to take away and really the quality of both and the taste were impressive. the atmosphere of the restaurant is very welcoming. the service is very good and they have an extensive menu of typical dishes of the spanish cuisine. excellent choice for celebrations or business lunches.

Excellent service and delicious food. The black paella is a MUST: incredibly large portion size for 2 people. We had enough leftovers for a whole other meal! We got the apple cider chorizo as an appetizer and it was delicious as well. Great selection of beers. Solid customer service.
