Avery detailed oriented design. Great information about the history and culture of DR. It's only about 125 pesos or $2 to get in. The only negative thing was the airpods with recordings were not working, thankfully we had a friend who gave us the tour.

Museum of the Royal Houses is the must to see when you visit Santo Domingo. If you keen to learn interesting fact and hungry for rich history this is the place to visit. You will get a headset guide to listen history in your language of every piece and corner of the museum. Beautiful and highly recommended.

pretty good, but there was a weird line about the colonizers only wanting to help the native population - that simple can’t be true

(Translated by Google) One of the best museums in the Dominican Republic with a really interesting collection of artifacts. Be sure to go to this museum with a good guide who can tell you the most interesting details. Here you can see real treasures raised from the seabed and how they look now. Interesting collection of weapons of the dictator Trujillo. Meeting rooms and more. There is no Russian-speaking guide nearby. To have an excursion in Russian or Ukrainian, you need to make an appointment in advance and look for a guide online. But guides who speak Spanish and English are on duty near the museum.

Tells in great detail the history of the Dominican Republic and the colonial era. Many of the displays are in Spanish but there are employees who can answer your questions.

Well worth an hour to look around and get an insight in to the history of the Island, and the building. It's only 100 pesos, so great value for money.

Amazing to know that this was the place where governors sent to Hispaniola led the island. Also, this place was our presidential house until Trujillo built the National Palace

Lot of history! Definitely a must see place. So much information about the whole island and visual history of the Dominican Republic and Haiti which were together “Española” in those times. I got a chance to go in and take some pictures; let’s just say I was in a place of amazement! Gotta go back and take more pictures! Loved it!!

Interesting little museum about Santo Domingo and it's history. Note that as of Feb 2024 the second floor is closed to renovations so there isn't as much to see right now. We paid in cash at the door and were given audio tour devices in English.

This majestic stone building housed the administrative offices of the Spanish colonies in the Americas and also served as the treasury and residence of the governors and generals. Was the place of important meetings and parties attended by prominent figures of colonial society. This colonial building has undergone a series of change throughout the history of the country and was instituted as a museum that offers an informative look at the history and culture of Hispaniola.

This was one of the stops of our Santo Domingo day trip and it was my favorite part of the entire excursion. Our group split between two guides - one in Spanish and the other in English. Our guide from the museum was very detailed in his presentation and clearly very passionate about the different pieces in the collection. I'm not sure what the cost of entry would be on its own but I would highly recommend making time to stop by this museum.

Museo de las Casas Reales it’s a place worth attention and visit. A very interesting place. Very interesting exhibitions. All about the history of the Dominican Republic. The museum is housed in a historic building. It was the official office of Alonso de Zuazo, Governor of New Spain and Santo Domingo. I visited Museo de las Casas Reales in December 2014. My best recommendations.
