Super fun, great atmosphere, music, and good drinks! The dance floor is always busy and packed, so be aware you have to be OK with a very crowded space. There are also separate rooms with tables where you can sit with your group. Otherwise, like us, you can sit at the bar if there is room. Definitely check it out!

This was quite a boring 10 minutes of my life wasted away. You basically walk in, see different bottles, arrive 10 meters further in a room with a rum bar and old knick knacks, and... you guessed it. OVERpriced rum for sale! That's it. Nothing else. Nothing even close to any info about actual rum history or distilling.

My wife and I were taken to this place as part of a cultural tour of the city. As we were about to enter the person sitting outside stated I would not be able to enter because I was wearing a tank top. Shorts and tank top is kind of the clothing for the tropical weather. I would not recommend this place to anyone because of the horrible service from the idiot sitting on his stool acting tough. Refuse us as willing paying customers.

At night the museum turns into social dancing spot; however, the lackluster DJ and Audio quality do not help the experience and the quality of their cocktails is definitely poor ; the best choice would be consuming pure Rum and few of the rum-based cocktails forget about the other standard cocktails like Mojito's or Margarita's. But if you are one of those pure dancers of Salsa, Bachata and Merengue, this would be your spot for showing your skills. During the day, you will enjoy a tour with historic details about Dominican Rum and sugar cane industry in general.

Interesting to see, with some displays on history of rum and Columbus’ journeys. Great bar area with great lounge music. Visited it at 8-9pm.

Beautiful place, excellent ambience , good music, nice selection of alcohols and also by their own making. Passion fruit rum, soft and sweet but u still feel the punch from the rum. The service guys, are nice and knowledgeable of their stuff. It's a fancy place but does not required fancy dressing which it's good. Prices are a bit more expensive than the regular bars in the area but definitely worth it.

This place is anything but a museum or a place to get any lnowledge about rum They do not have a good selection. And the bartenders are trained to offer you Flor de Caña. FLOR DE CAÑA Is an airport rum. Nothing to do with local traditions of rums. So, if you are going for the vibe, fine, is a fun place. But is nothing about rum. Go next door or find anywhere else.

Great place to go dancing. Crazy expensive water. Go for cocktails or beer. They should definitely make water cheaper. It gets too crowded they should definitely move all the tables to the terrace.

I went the bar with 3 friends, great cocktails and good service by the bartender, they have Miami Beach prices so be prepare 💰, Waiters were distracted by everything else but the customers so we went straight to the bar and order with the bartender ..they had an annoyed rule of do not allow you to seat in some tables in the main Salon if you are not a party of 10 or more … what ??? Do not recommend.

Horrible experience. Employees are really rude and disrespectful. They will not even give you money back if you pay in cash. They charge you a different price than the menu and one of the employee offers me a fight cause I asked about it. Don't go to this place.

Im at this place right now and the service is very poor. They take too long to serve you a drink. Ths music is good but there are spots that nono of the workers go. After i spend like 30min for my drink i feel that it has good taste.

Excellent selection of music to dance Salsa, Merengue, Merengue Tipico and Bachatta! Drinks are good! It’s very crowded and the place is not big! There is paid parking around it and overall it’s a very nice bar!

True Caribbean Cultural Experience: Have some Rum with a nicely crafted Cigar Housed in 16th century restored building, the Museum of Rum and Sugar Cane is one of my favorite places to spend an early evening in the colonial town of Santo Domingo. The walls display some pictures of the original building before reconstruction transformed this old house into a little hipster place. The museum has a few rooms showing the history of rum and sugar cane. There are several stoves of bronze on display and numerous other items from the history of rum making in the Dominican Republic. Sugar cane can be found growing inside of the open patio, where one can enjoy a cigar and the house rum. There is also a nice bar inside where you can enjoy some history in a variety of well prepared rum cocktails at very reasonable price… I mean cheap, or I would remember the price tag. I particularly enjoyed Ron Piña on the rocks with some locally crafted cigars purchased earlier at Boutique Tabaco Caoba in nearby Columbus plaza.

Had an amazing time here. A staff member showed us the history and let us sample a few rums. We came back at night to some wonderful music, dancing and to try some rums

This is a small but interesting museum. There is no charge but you're asked to donate what you think it is worth. There is also a bar area which looked fun but is shut on mondays.
