Perfect place to rent a bike and get to know La Zona Colonial from another perspective. Get there very early, so you can ride around without so much traffic. One hour: RD$300 / US$5.12 *They have a coffee shop inside👌🏽 *They have good C19 protocols🦠

Pedaling through the past and present with Zona Bici bike rental 🚴‍♀️🌺 From the historic landmarks, to the inspiring and rich culture of the Dominican people, every stroke of the pedal uncovers a new layer of this enchanting city. 💕 Every bit of the way was so enchanting, and so culturally rich in abundance that this place has a place in my heart forever. A special thanks to Jose, who was our guide.

Unavoidable ! We arrived from France without really knowing the history of the country or the places to visit. Starting with this tour is the best thing to do. We visit the colonial zone and take in the views, but we emerge from there having taken a trip back in time. José is kind, speaks French perfectly and represents the soul of this country. Go for it! You will also leave with plenty of things to do and good addresses.

We really enjoyed ourselves during our tour with Miriam. She was an informative guide and kept things moving at a good pace. We learned a lot about the city and the history of Dominican Republic. Thanks for having us!

I’ve been wanting to ride bike around la zona colonial, and we found the perfect place, with the most loving staff. They were all very attentive, charismatic, informative, and made the process as smoothly as possible. We had an issue with one of the bikes and they fixed it in just a second by replacing it. Upon returning the bikes, i decided to try out their iced coffee with double espresso 😍 it was amazing!!! Try them out , its affordable and you’ll have an amazing time i promise

Without a doubt the best experience to get to know Santo Domingo. It is important to reserve a day in advance for the guided tours. You can also only rent bicycles by the hour, they give you a mini map of the area. The bike rental already includes the helmet. There are even bikes to carry small children behind. The kindness of the two boys was great, and that is a great point since in the DR attention is not their strong point 🫢 At the end of the tour you can drink some delicious traditional beer with a snack right there. 10 out of 10

I'm so happy I had the opportunity to experience this wonderful bike tour. From the moment you step into the business.. very hip... chic bike shop... coffee... bar... tables...Jose has created a wonderful experience with his business. The ride... easy,, cultural, historical, educating... Jose knows his stuff... and being a native of DR... was able to share so many stories of tradition and culture. He even treated us to some of the best cheese and crackers. I highly recommend his bike tour and visiting his shop. You will have a wonderful experience. ❤️

I've ridden bikes in this place and the attention always have been great, but today I spent like 4 hours in theirs Cafe Bar and It was FABULOUS, the barista is really GOOD and he knows his business. He guides you through your order and help you choose the best option if you know nothing about coffee, like me 😅. The cashier is a lovely person and is always available to help you. In general the staff is amazing.

Great place to stop for coffee and pastries before renting a bike and cruising around the colonial zone. If you have time for a guided tour it will be well worth it - we had Jose Miguel as our guide and he was fantastic!! After the tour he sat down to show us more places to check out on a map they provided including local haunts. Make this your first stop in town and explore from here!

Tip: Do this at the beginning of your DR trip so that you can explore further the different restaurants, museums, shops and bars that they mention/recommend on the tour! This was such a fun and educational experience. My family is Dominican and I learned so much about the history of the country while safely riding through the city. Tour guide Jose was super informative and made the group feel safe riding our bikes through the roadways. Loved it! :)

I want to leave a good review because I know these are nice people but this was not a great experience. I reached out to Zona bici months before our trip to see if we could rent bikes for our family. They say they speak Italian and English on their website but that wasn’t the case with any of the employees that I spoke with. They told me they had bikes and could provide a guide. A week before I texted to confirm and they told me it wouldn’t be possible any more. Were they even going to let me know? When we got there on the designated day they were unclear what we needed and didn’t have the bikes ready. I also would have appreciated a honest conversation with them telling me that Zona colonial isn’t a great place to ride bikes, especially with kids. The sidewalks don’t have ramps and the city was packed with cars and scooters. They could have suggested another place or advised me that it wasn’t a great idea with teens and kids. The bikes themselves were not great. My bike and my husband’s bike had brakes that hardly worked. None of the kids had helmets that fit. They also gave me a lock that fell apart the first time we tried to use it. They also told me that it wouldn’t be a problem to pick up the bikes later from our hotel. Why tell me things if you cannot actually do them? They told me they couldn’t do that but then we stood our ground and showed on WhatsApp where they had promised that they could. They came FOUR hours after they told me they would come and our hotel was angry with us. Maybe this is par for the course in the Dominican Republic and i am just naive, but they could have told me upfront about issues and we would have been prepared.

We went on a guided bike tour with Jose on our first day in Santo Domingo and it was the best thing that we could do. He explained so much about the culture and history of the city. We went to different places that he recommended afterwards. This trip made our Santo Domingo experience so much better!! Thanks!

Very nice experience and really good customer service. Aldo Rodriguez took care of us and he made sure we felt comfortable. Besides helping us pick the best bikes, he also recommended few restaurants around the area (he is from there). The experience of biking in the Zona Colonial is amazing! This is a must go place, 100% recommended.

A must do experience in Santo Domingo. We were lucky enough to also have Miriam as a guide for the bike tour. We were alone. So private tour and they did not cancel. Got to see the main sites and get a lot of local culture and social information that you don't get out of a traditional tour. Definitely recommend. Don't skip this one.

Highly recommend. Mairim gave us the best tour ever! I went with my husband and friends (kids and a baby included). Super chill biking around the beautiful Zona Colonial, with stops along the way as she gave us historical and cultural information. Everyone learned new things, whether tourists or locals. The kids had a blast! Helmets are provided, and everyone gets a free coffee or water before/after the tour. Additionally, they have an amazing selection of Dominican craft beers.

An excellent way to enjoy and get to know the historical places of the Colonial Zone. Zona Bici rents bicycles, tricycles, children's bicycles, and more! They also offer the options of a guided tour to the Colonial Zone. After we delivered the bikes, we enjoyed a delicious coffee! They offer a variety of drinks, and enough space to sit and chat! We had a fantastic time with Jose yesterday on the tour around the Colonial District. Jose is native to this community, and it was very interesting to hear the history of the area from his unique perspective, including the good, the bad, and the hopeful. The tour was comprehensive and gave us a good flavour of the town. Highly recommend this tour.

Had an excellent tour with Miriam. Great English skills honed in Wisconsin. Single speed bikes in good condition. Hit all of the important sites in Zona Colonial. Went back to Zona Bici for craft beers. Really connected well with all of us. Strong vital spirit. She was fabulous. Business very welcoming and a very pleasant location to sit and drink a craft beer or a coffee, after your tour.

These folks are so nice and accommodating! My toddler and I signed up for a ride, but we couldn't do it as planned, so they modified it for us. Super nice, very organized, and...great coffee/drinks at the shop! Very close to the square. A definite must!

Took our family of six on a bike tour through the old, colonial part of Santo Domingo with Zona bici . This was like a crash course in local history, the best museums, the best restaurants, and the best things to do all while having an exciting adventure on a bicycle with postcard scenery. Our guide José was awesome 😎. I would highly recommend. The price was very affordable.

First and foremost, let's talk about Aldo and his customer service skills. Aldo is the type of person who you can have a conversation as if you knew him. He was great explaining some of the rules around Zona Colonial and of course the bike rental rules. Aside from this , is you have any question or if you want any suggestions about the area feel free to ask. I will definitely recommend this place and if you are lucky enough to be greeted by Aldo well you will enjoy it alot more.

Nice place to rent bikes. Decent prices. Not too strict. Nice friendly employees. Bikes look and feel well kept . They're safe or not depending on your bike skills ( if you rent them you will be biking around the city )

Very fun very informative time, learned a lot.about all the places we stopped at and had a great tour guide in Mairim. The bikes were great and the time was well spent with everything being explained very well and a lot of history explained about the island and how it has become the place it is today. It is a great way to get to know the Ciudad Colonial, and I would suggest to anyone in the area.

We had a guided tour with Jose, and it was great. He gave us a lot of info about the people, culture, history and restaurants in Santo Domingo. It was a super tour and Jose is a very funny, lovely person. The bikes were good, and it was safe to drive around the city. If you are in Santo Domingo, do the tour first, you will get a lot of useful information you don't want to miss.

They did a great, careful job on my bike that needed to be fixed and adjusted after travelling on a plane. The place is also really nice to stay in, having delicious hot chocolate or coffee chatting with the friendly staff, while waiting for the bike to be ready. Thanks again for the nice work!

My family of 6 (3 teens and a 12 year old) toured the city with Jose as our guide. He was very knowledgeable and we learned so much history from him. He also made sure we were all riding safely around the city as there is some traffic and pedestrians. Jose had lots of great suggestions for local activities and places to eat. Highly recommend!

Go for it! You will not be disappointed !! A superb way to discover the colonial zone and beyond with José, a captivating guide, who masters the small stories that make it big, from the Tainos to contemporary times. The whole family was delighted. Thanks again ! The coffee is also excellent.

Zona Bici has a super convenient location! You can rent bikes, have a coffee, local craft beer and/or take a bicycle tour. We took the tour and Mairim, our tour guide, was awesome. It is one of the more inclusive tours in terms of history, political and cultural considerations, I have been on. She spoke honestly about colonization, slavery and inequalities, while maintaining a hopeful tone for the future. She clearly likes interacting with people and has a great sense of humor. Also, took great care of all participants. Totally worth it!!

Very interesting tour of the old town. Our only regret is not having done it earlier in our trip! Jose made us discover little treasures, to eat, dance and drink well. The guided tour is also an opportunity to learn and reflect on the diversity of communities and the sometimes painful history of the inhabitants of the city and the island. We highly recommend!
