    Awesome executive room with a gorgeous view. Outstanding amenities in restaurant with gourmet food all around. Hospitality management trained staff to serve you. Great security and room service top of the line. The VIP on the 9th floor was a delight and their staff here is hand picked with extraordinary care to your needs. Terrace View of the city is amazing!

    This stay was magnificent! From the time I was greeted for check in until check out the staff and services was above par. Everyone is extremely professional, clean and courteous. The interior is to be adored, the buffet has great food choices and the rooms well suited for business and pleasure. When I return to Santo Domingo, this will be my only place to stay.     Location is an excellent base to operate from if not familiar with directions while visiting the Dominican Republic, centralized to feel comfortable with noticable high rise from a main highway, has a nice restaurant, active casino, live music, walkable to many local eateries and shops, ideal location ...enjoy your stay!

    We enjoyed a very nice hotel at a great price. The room is very comfortable, bathrooms have gorgeous tile, breakfast is flat-out amazing, the pool area is delightful (also with beautiful tile), and service is friendly. The location is conveniently located at the crossroads to many different locations in Santo Domingo. Ubers were never more than a few minutes away. There are a few simple restaurants within walking distance if you want to try something besides the hotel restaurant or poolside bar.

    Pleasantly surprised for this, my first day-pass experience. Beautiful pool, staff is very attentive and friendly. The chaise lounge chairs have a thick cushion on it, and they give plenty of towels. I bought a piña colada, and loved its heavy-handed rummy-ness……🥰🤗. I will definitely come back here….👍🏼

    Absolutely beautiful hotel! The reception staff was kind and gracious. The front desk clerk, check in was fast and accurate. The room was spacious and clean. The overall experience was amazing. I would recommend this hotel for your stay in Santo Domingo.

    This is the worse experience I've ever had in my travels around the world. If I could I would give them a negative rating. There's no water in the bathroom and can't take a shower. I'm here for business and can't wait the whole day for the water in the bathroom. Didn't expect this from Barcelo.

    I left my suits bag in the hotel & the manager Ms. Rossi patiently worked with me. She shipped them to the United States in a timely fashion. Thank Barcelo Team. I love the buffet 😁

    Second time here! Buffet is amazing. The low star is strictly from cleanliness. Time to pressure wash the pool area. A mildew stench in most the hallways specifically floor number 3. Housekeeping’s mop they use was filthy. They literally let it sit on the bare ground. They also need to start vacuuming the rooms. Everyday. Not once a week. Cleanliness was awful

    Your restaurant is very nice and the food is very good. I am from New Orleans Louisiana where we know good food so believe me that your food is very tasty and is of the highest quality. Your restaurant manager Brian is very helpful courteous and polite and he made me feel at home.

    Stayed again February 19 to February 21 2024Once again it was great. Great customer service, clean rooms. Really good breakfast. The bar was awesome. Best wifi. Will be back in April.

    Management here truly understands creating a team environment. Staff goes over and above every single time. I will return to this hotel again and again. Special thanks to Lisandro, Reception Manager, for encouraging a warm greeting from staff upon arrival and Rosie, Guests Services, who can get literally anything done at any time.

    The food is very good. I recommend Kyoto Japanese restaurant, B Delicious breakfast and dinner buffet. Also, the staff is very courteous and professional. I had a good stay at this facility.

    My friends and I stayed twice at this hotel during the Christmas holidays. The first night was on January 6, 2023, and the second was on January 16. The Hotel in general is well maintained: a very elegant lobby, a well-stocked bar, and excellent dinner, and breakfast. The staff very friendly. The room with good beds and firm pillows. However, the rooms need more lighting. Because it is an old hotel, very unpleasant objectionable odors come out of the bathroom pipes. We didn't ask for a change because it was only one night. I don't know if this situation has a remedy, but it would be good if they fixed it.

    Friendly staff, however, a definite language barrier, hardly any English from staff members outside of desk check-in. Elevator wait times at times can be slow, it can be a common factor at many hotels. They definitely attempt to upsell products: small in room refrigerator was stocked with 21 beverages in addition to 12 countertop snack products. The powdered coffee creamer was crystalized due to age, There were no washcloths in the room, had to approach cleaning staff for one: when cleaning staff attended to the room, they didn't clean the coffee pot or replace the wash cloth. The towels are like sandpaper, good to get the dead skin off your body. There was no microwave in the room and I could have used one at times. Fantastic water pressure and awesome shower heads. Rooms accommodations are pretty nice with a decent street view, although you won't find much in the way of English television broadcasts and my in room phone was non-functional. The pool area didn't provide towels, the pool area surrounding the in water lounge chairs is dangerously slippery due to the tapered tile glazed surface, the walking area is on a slight angle and really hazardous walking down to a less shallow area. The restaurant offers a nice variety of menu items outside of the buffet: pretty good quality and reasonable pricing. Overall, I would return to the property.

    The hotel was really nice, but is far from being quite! Its actually full of live, music and interesting people. The restaurant was delicious!, the bar had a great merengue band playing, but the cocktails weren't good. The rooms are modern and pretty, comfortable beds and AMAZING pool!.

    The refrigerator in a bedroom it have not a daily good supply and I try to lower the Air Condition I did try to lower because it was too cold, no every one loves the air conditioning. I am 79 years old and it isn't good for me.

    Paid 50% of my stay with my credit card when making a reservation. Had credit card trouble when I checked in and had to use different credit card. They charged me 100% on new credit card but didn't refund me the initial 50% they charged me on original credit card. Spoke for hours trying to reach someone to help me with no success. Kept being told that someone would contact me or got hung up on. All this while incurring international phone charges. Called barcelo customer service and they keep telling me to put a ticket in their system but that doesn't work and then they tell you to contact the actual hotel. When you contact the actual hotel, they either don't answer the phone or keep giving you the run around. Still waiting for my money, will have to open a fraud case soon. ************* Update To Barcelo I've had to spend over 50 dollars extra because I was repeatedly instructed to call the hotel to deal with the issue. Every time I called them I was given the run around and was either hung up on or told the person wasn't available to assist and to just email. Obviously I sent numerous emails with no replies. I had to contact Barcelo headquarters and still no reply. It was only after I left a Google review that someone actually reached out to me and stated the refund was given but still I have not received it. 😔

    This hotel is very nice.. Every employee here will treat you nice and they will make sure you are very comfortable and happy. This is my second stay here in a week's time. It was so nice that I came back quickly. I plan on staying here in January 2024, for 20 days or more. Plus, the hotel is close to everything.

    I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The staff were amazing and professional, and the breakfast was delicious. Their VIP premium lounge is most definitely worth it and I would highly recommend it to anyone staying here to pay for the upgrade as you get unlimited snacks/alcohol at certain times throughout the day. Only issue I had was that their water in the morning wouldn't work properly 2 of the 3 mornings I stayed, and their in room snack bar was a bit pricey. But still a pleasant stay overall.

    The staff was very polite, I am very picky staying @ hotels, this place was very clean, my room was small but extremely clean and smell very good. We also enjoy the pool and the snacks at the pool bar. We loved the bakery the best tarta helada (ice cream cake), yum.

    The hotel appears to be clean, and the workers are hospitable. The rooms that my team and I were placed in could have been better: my room always felt a bit damp/moist in the air. My papers and clothes felt damp, and even the carpet. The bathroom was great. The internet service was not reliable.

    Booked only for one night was just over 200canadian, I assumed that would come with drinks and food but apparently not, room is decent but no balcony, staff was real nice tho, at least there only gonna charge me 3.95 plus tax American for a bottle of water lol I’ve stayed Barcelo in Mexico a few times and loved it but never again after this

    Excellent hotel in Santo Domingo. I have stayed at five other hotels in the area including the Embajador and I prefer the Barceló. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. You can choose between buffet style and a la carte dining. You should try to avoid rooms 806 or 807 if you reserve an executive suite. You can hear the footsteps from the executive lounge that is located above the rooms.

    Old, need to be updated for the price they are charging. Watch out because they will charge you more than what you agreed. Also if you have a guest come visit you they will charge for every visit. $50 a head wow

    I have to start out with the good. The hotel is beautiful specially the pool area. Security is good. The lobby employees are excellent. The restaurant at $20.00 per person is overpriced. The bathroom shower and floors need better cleaning. The floor as well as the bench underneath the sink had shoe prints front day one. I mentioned this on my third day of stay, and the tissue box being empty. The only thing that was taken care of a bit better was the shower door. The rest never. The water pressure in the shower was strong. I stayed for a week March 23-30, 2022. In my opinion the floor carpet should be replaced to wooden floor. It would make this hotel cleaner, and the maintenance should be enhanced as well. In overall, the stay was great. The staff was great. Will I go back? Most definitely!

    At first glance when you do check in the front desk is very professional. However I did notice the workers are extremely short staffed. Which makes them often moody. And by that creating a unpleasant place to stay in. I also noticed that they are now charging for things that were free before, for example: printing out 1 piece of paper document. This was free in previous visits. And I was told they are now charging for this.

    Pretty nice hotel for the price. It has a casino at the facility which is good for some and bad for others. Check in was a little slow. We couldnt have breakfast due to the fact that no one was at the station to serve us food. I found it a little bit over priced, around $19 per person. Other than that rooms were clean and spacious.

    The customer service is TOTALLY INEXISTANT. 0/10. This hotel is a scam. They will charge you for 1 bottle of water, the water they are suppose to give you. They just want your money.

    The hotel was very nice and clean, but the restaurant was a disaster, there was a swimming tournament and all the athletes stayed in the hotel and they all ate at the same time and the service was very chaotic and on Sunday nobody came to clean my room I did not understand why, it may be that the camera does not work on Sunday, the hotel is very nice and the beers are very cold

    The place was nice and clean. The room was large and very comfortable. The bed was a delight. My only two complains were that the carpet was a little wet by the AC condensation, and that the service although very polite, was a little insistent (was awaken twice by people asking about room cleaning).

    Costed US$350 for 2 nights. Rooms were huge n classy. Breakfast was great- large selection of buffet. gym n pool were closed due to hurricane Fiona. con- AC in room bathroom was leaking the entire time. Not enough towels in the room for 2 considering the amount of money. Enough employees to help when you arrive. They speak English so hallelujah 💐💐💐💐💐

    The hotel is a 30 minute ride to the airport. There are some very nice restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive but nothing right outside the hotel. The hotel does have a Japanese restaurant and a piano bar. In the morning there is a breakfast buffet. There is also a full casino with slots, Black Jack, and Roulette. The staff was kind and got me checked in quickly and they spoke both English and Spanish. The room was little dated but large and clean with a king size bed, small table, and desk. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were super soft. The bathroom was clean with a nice rain shower head. If your a light sleeper ask for a room not facing the road. Other Amenities: - Free WiFi - Fitness room -Mini fridge and microwave -Paid snacks and refreshments -Outdoor pool and hot tub (very nice). -Excellent hot breakfast with made to order omelets, French Toast, bacon, cereals, bagels and yogurt (included with Expedia rate)

    I stayed in room 106 on December 27-28 and it was horrible! I don’t know how long they had since they cleaned this hotel room but I went to make some coffee and the creamer that was provided was rotten. When I called they had to come get me a new one and the same thing happened with the second one… A little after that I unraveled the sheet from the bed, a HUGE dry roach came out as if it were tucked into the sheet of the bed.. We called housekeeping and all they said was “oh, sorry for the inconvenience” And then some ladies came to get the roach and the one that picked it up off the floor started looking around the room for more and was clearly sick and scratching her throat without a mask on while searching around our room... WHAT?? I don’t recommend staying at this hotel.

    I stayed here 12/9/22 room 701 with my wife. The hotel room itself and accommodations were good. However, I accidentally left my chain in the restroom and didn't realize until the following morning. My wife called and spoke with hotel staff never got a phone call back after being promised one. We showed up Monday late afternoon and spoke to Katherine the manager on duty, she claimed she'd do a thorough investigation. I got a call back Thursday the 15th and she claims they found nothing and their "HD" surveillance cameras show that I wasn't wearing a chain. I fullheartedly believe that the housekeeping staff found the chain and kept it for themselves. Do not leave personal belongings of value behind here; housekeeping staff will keep it and claim to never have seen anything. Barcelo covers for their thieving employees and just wants to keep your money!

    I'm starting a travel vlog, Barcelo was myb3rd hotel on my 2 week stay visiting my husband that stays 4 hours away in Mella. By far this has been the best hotel beating out some of the resorts in Punta Cana. Check in was seamless, the receptionist explained how everything works. This is not a all-inclusive hotel, so you put a deposit down for the mini bar, bar, food, gym and spa, you pay what ever you feel is necessary. The room was spacious, bed felt like a cloud, shower worked perfectly, toilets worked too. This is the only hotel that I've stayed at in yhe D.R., that has multiple English channels. Room service was quick, the food delicious, the pool was cold but we swam anyway, we ordered some bites that were plentiful and seasoned. Our room was mostly cleaned, but not vacuumed nor were our glasses washed or replaced. Barcelo is 5 minutes from sambil mall, 15 minutes from Zona colonial and the malecon and 25 minutes from the airport. I would definitely stay again and I would love the presidential suite. I recommend a cab to get around if you're not used to Santo Domingo traffic. FYI there's 2 pools. Shaded eating with fans and a kids playground outside. Great job Barcelo!

    Barcelo Santo Domingo is a nice hotel. I very much enjoyed my stay. It is in a good location. The Caribe Tours bus station is about 3 blocks away.

    We stayed on the 9th floor premium level. Everything about the hotel is top notch. The hotel has a pool, several bars and restaurants. If you don't want to leave the hotel for a day, they have everything you need right on property. The premium level gives you access to a more intimate breakfast, drinks and snacks as well as a balcony and jacuzzi. For the money and the accommodations you receive. This is the place to stay! We will definitely be back next time we are in town
