We stayed for 4 nights and choose this hotel as it is a short walk to the shopping street, staff were really friendly and helpful. The hotel has a very friendly family feel about it and we spent quite a bit of time in the cafe just off the bar which is also owned by the hotel. we didn’t have breakfast inside the hotel but did have it in the cafe as you can sit outside and it’s very pleasant next to the old church, you can just charge the food and drink to your room as usual, there is also a pizza restaurant there but we didn’t get the chance to try it. We had a baby with us and the hotel provided us with an enormous bed and a single bed the one large bed fitted the 3 of us in easily. The room was large as was the bathroom, a bonus was the shower was thermostatically controlled so no twiddling with knobs to get the temperature right. You could easily fit 5 people in the shower area it was so large. A nice touch was the shower products provided were of a very good quality. We loved our stay there and would definitely return. The pool on the roof terrace was small but big enough considering where it is, the terrace bar area was beautiful.

Nicely decorated, nice rooftop pool (but a bit barren and exposed to the sun), and great cocktails. My friend did not like her lunch so much. No problem - plenty of restaurants nearby as this hotel is in a great location for any tourist. The biggest problem - and one that simply prevents this hotel from being “luxury” is that the rooms are extremely noisy. They all have doors and thin windows to the atrium in the center, and that’s where they start making breakfast at 6.30am. Guests talking outside - all clearly audible in the rooms. This is also much worse than the street noise, of which you can still hear a bit when people singing, yelling are walking past. Four nights, not cheap, and we didn’t sleep well.

Overall, I had a great experience at the Billini Hotel. The hotel is close to many restaurants, bars, and small shops located inside the colonial zone. The team is professional and friendly. The hotel was always clean. My main concern was that the hotel is a small boutique hotel and often uses its space as a flex space for events and weddings. There also seems to be a wedding scheduled at the hotel daily. The wedding guests occupied the pool and the roof deck for most of the afternoon. The weddings also occupy the main lobby and it can be awkward trying to exit the hotel during a wedding. Not to mention you can hear the weddings while you're in your room. We also stayed on the first floor with an outdoor terrace. Although a fountain of water separated the terrace from the general area, wedding guests liked the look of our room terrace and often jumped onto the space outside our room door to admire the space or take photos. I'm not shy, but having a group of people stand outside of my patio door as I get out of the shower was a little shocking. I also dont recommend the hotel breakfast. It was approximately $60 for two of us to have slices of cheese, eggs, and fruit. I believe the hotel gets its food from the café nearby, you can walk there and save a few dollars. Again, my overall experience was great. I appreciate the team, and the location of the hotel.

Stayed in the owners suite. One of the air conditioners was not working, there was a leak in the ceiling so the floor was wet all night, my car passengar seat was wet when returned by valet, coffee and croissants were 30 minutes later than they said it would be. The car being wet was gross and I had to change my clothes at the airport.

Rooftop pool is the perfect gem in la zona colonial to get a great tan and go for a cool dip. The view is fantastic, the pool is cold but feels great under the hot sun, the servers are professional and attentive. It’s never too crowded, the music is lo-fi jazzy and to a reasonable volume. One of my favourite spots to unwind and get away from the hustle and bustle of la zona.

Beautiful hotel in colonial Santo Domingo! The hotel has a great restaurant open until 9:30p (Currently curfew for businesses is until 6pm). We dined there a couple of nights and it was delicious! The hotel has a great rooftop pool and every staff member we encountered was super friendly! The hotel is close to a cute cafe called Corner Cafe that we frequented during our stay. Special shout-out to Richard, he was great and always made us feel special, thank you.

In a city proud of its “firsts”, this is the “first luxurious avant-garde design hotel in the Colonial Zone” according to the English language version of the website. The hotel is in a building once belonging to Colegio Santo Tomás de Aquino.

The Hotel Billini, located at Calle Padre Billini 256 in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo, is a wonderful hotel in a 16th century building with elegant rooms, 2 restaurants, a swimming pool and a rooftop bar with spectacular views of the Church and Convent Regina Angelorum. The hotel is absolutely perfect, the architectural details are truly unique, it has a Spanish patio and several cozy areas, the staff is super friendly, I just loved that place! If you want to stay in a hotel where the ancient world meets the modern atmosphere, this is the best hotel, it also has an excellent location.

Very well located hotel if you want to stay in zona colonial. I’ll tell you the rooms are comfortable, the staff is nice and helpful, look, as if they only convenience at the moment, is located right next to cathedral that the city is remodeling currently.

The moment I checked in I knew I was not going to stay 4 nights. I actually went to the reception 2 hours after checking in and informed them I would be leaving the next day. He told me I would be charged double for the night because I booked through Expedia. It didn’t make sense so I called them and they said they would handle it. I don’t know what they did but by the time I checked out the next morning the bill was correct. Pros: Bellman and/or concierge were amazing. Cons: The guys at the reception were not the friendliest, mainly the one that was trying to charge me double. Room felt like I was staying in someone’s house in the guest bedroom down the hall. No views. Really small. Only 3 floors. Like squished in between houses and storefronts. To me there is nothing luxury about this hotel. It is extremely overpriced, over $200 US for my rate. No hot water, and felt unsafe with the bathroom window that someone could climb through that did not lock. I ended up going to the Catalonia hotel for half the price, double the room size, and an oceanfront view. Best choose I could have made.

Great boutique hotel with a pizza restaurant and cafe right around the corner. Great views from the rooftop pool. Can be loud since the windows are not closed, there is just a screen so you can hear noise if it's busy outside.

A nice boutique hotel with challenges. The lobby staff was the least friendly of all the Dominicans we met. The rooms are modern and well equipped with the amenities we would expect for a "luxury" hotel but most rooms have a huge disadvantage. They are all adjacent to the atrium area in which both guests and randos can use to have loud conversations that go through the doors and wall of the room. If you're the last one to turn in for bed it won't bother you. Otherwise earplugs are a MUST.

The food was simply extraordinary, and the staff went anove and beyond for the wedding we celebrated on their premises. Highly recommended for a nice event.

Stay away. The rooms are very noisy.. There's no way of getting proper rest. It's very expensive and the food is nothing special. There are many, much better places.

Really overpriced for what it is. Our room was on the first floor facing the courtyard and it was extremely loud at all times of day

Nice quite hotel in the Zona Colonial section of Santo Domingo. Convenient location to the shoreline as well as the historical sites and restaurants. The decor is thoughtfully laid out. They make the best use of space for this property that is centuries old. The top view is the best with the bar and the swimming pool.

Outstanding hotel near the heart of Viejo Santo Domingo (el Centro colonial). Fabulous rooms, ruins of convent respectfully incorporated into structure and rooftop pool, bar & restaurant are top-notch in the Caribbean for design and style. The breakfast buffet is consistently excellent & fresh. Haitian-born owner is attentive to detail, warm & friendly. The only place we stay (and recommend) when we visit la Capital from our home in the hills of Las Terrenas.

Always enjoy staying here. Great old world meets new world atmosphere and location. It's more suited as a couples getaway than family getaway, but that is exactly what I like about this place.
