Poor option for the night. No private bathroom, the bed didn't felt comfortable and no longer offering breakfast. Even though the owner is a nice guy this option is not that great for couples wanting privacy. Might be good for solo or students. I went to casa del sol afterwards and was a far better experience.

Stayed here for one night upon arrival in Santo Domingo. Friendly staff at the front desk spoke a smattering of English. The beds and bathrooms were very clean. A large bottled water dispenser is available in the expansive kitchen and dining area. The wifi and power were patchy, as was the hot water. No air conditioning. No lockers are available to securely store baggage, and even if you request a private room, the room will adjoin another space with bunks and no door. Very quiet for a hostel. Not a ton of people to chat with. The stay (on a Saturday night in January) was $28 for me and my SO. We moved up the block to a hotel the second night with good air conditioning, better wifi, and a locking door on night 2, which cost us just $18.

We laid less per person to stay much closer to the conde on another trip. I think it was fine and it had a breakfast included. about a 10 min walk from things... Especially if it's just one person it may be better for saving. But for the price we paid for 3 to stay, we could have gone somewhere else.

Very decent hostel for the price, not far from siteseeing places, I ubered everywhere so that was practical. Rafael was great he spoke only Spanish but was so helpful whenever I asked for help When the neighbours were playing loud music one night he accepted to change my room further away. I also could use the kitchen whenever I wanted, Little downsides are that the place isn’t renovated, a little dust, mosquitos to be expected, no English speaking (but forces you to practice or learn), pillows has nasty stains, I usually bring my pillow case. But if you travel not for the hotel but for exploration this is the place, much more authentic experience!

A super cute place run by lovely people. Quiet, near the tourist areas but not located RIGHT in it. I loved it, so will you

The Manager and all the employees were friendly and helpful. The price was awesome, everything we need were close to the hotel. The room were big enough for the price. I will go back again.

If you stay here, make sure you visit the bar of Alexis only a block or two away on calle Santiago across the street from the small restaurant Gloria Cocina. He's a great guy, speaks a little english and will look out for you. Actually lived in the building next door to this hotel and I can tell you it's easy to find for Uber yet close enough that you can walk anywhere. This neighborhood is Gazcue so if you're walking in the day it's safe. At night there's the usual sounds of motorcycles and music and you can sit in front of the hotel safely and nobody will bother you. There's not many police or soldiers on this street but just one block over is a military building so the entire area is well protected.

Good for the price. They didn't have any hand soap nor paper towels in the bathroom. They only had 1 roll of toilet paper and then there was none.
