Nice surprise. Kind customer service. Cozy spot in a very classical corner of the Zona Colonial, near to the Dominican secret society called "La Trinitaria", where Duarte (the Dominican father of the country) started an independence party back in the 1838's to free the Dominican people from the Haitian regime since 1822 till 1844. Can't write about the food yet but the 🥐 s & the ☕ were fair and they have a veggie option milk (almond's). It's a good place for hang a while. Regards,

The place is overall a relaxing warm vibe with atmospheric colonial decoratives such as tea cups, porcelain and other. Overall, the experience was great and if they don't have what you are looking for, the chef goes above and beyond to make the dish. Customer service was outstanding and informative. A domican versión of a Butler-like gentlemen poised to provide great service. They accept credit card so go have fun.

Lovely and charming place. Menu is not necessarily impressive but I think it meets the purpose. The decor makes this place Instagrammable. Our server was nice. Prices were good. They serve café con leche in lovely cups. Their passion fruit juice was good, or at least it seems that way considering that my toddler kept asking for more. Portions are big. One con: my scrambled eggs had bits of shell in it :(. Good place, nonetheless.

Got to try a Banana crepe and a wet chicken burrito. Had the opportunity to order En Espanol as well while building Spanish flash cards. Since I had less sleep the night before, I also got an Italian Cappuccino at 5 PM to keep me going. Overall Affogato was cozy and well decorated with delicious food.

When I’m staying in Zona Colonial, I’m posted here every morning. Coffee is so good and the staff are very friendly and provide great service. Vibe is also legit with wifi and if there’s not too many people you can get one of the comfy freakin benches and get your day started the right way if you’re a coffee fien como a mí or whenever

I loved the atmosphere and food at Affogato Café. So cozy and cute. Tea and food served on antique dishes. Prices are high but the quality is higher. The cafe is in the historical area of Santo Domingo.

This is such a gem 💎 I'm glad we found a true coffee house. Jose Miguel prepared our coffee and shared his knowledge about coffee in general. The food was delicious and place is beautiful! Super recommended. 👌

As others have noted, this place is hit or miss. I have been going here for about three or four years, and I was very satisfied with the food quality. Most recently, however, in November 2023, I ordered the banana pancakes, which I order every time I visit, but this time, they were awful. They were thin, dense, and rubbery. They actually tasted like frozen pancakes. I was very disappointed. The next time I went, a couple of days later, I ordered the strawberry crêpe. It was just OK. One thing that hasn't changed, however, is the consistently sour faces on the servers, particularly, the tall, pale skin, dude. His attitude is awful, he never smiles, or makes you feel welcome, and only begrudgingly says 'thank you' when you leave a tip at the register. They really need to work on their customer service. The other servers were a little more pleasant.

I had the traditional breakfast and it was great. Delicious iced coffee and jugo de chinola (passion fruit juice). Great place for a relaxing brunch!

The service was, I love the atmosphere here and the drinks (coffee and juices) are also good, I didn't like the food though. The pastry were way to thick, I ordered a croissant for my nephews that had a thickness of a cinnamon roll and my crepe was filled with mostly eggs even though it mentions many other ingredients and it was not tasty. Anyway, if you want to spend some time talking with friends with a coffee on hand, this can be your place.

The caramel French toast with cream cheese was sooooo delicious. The bread was light and flavorful. Some of the best French Toast I have ever had. The syrup was warm and added the perfect touch! The strawberry margarita was scrumptious! Made with fresh strawberries. And lastly the service was impeccable!!

A beautiful cafe around the tourist area of Santo Domingo. This Cafe is just what someone looking for a cozy place to relax and enjoy a caffeinated drink. Emphasis on the lax lifestyle. Let's start with the negatives. DO NOT come here if your looking for a quick coffee stop. This is, as many other places in DR a place where everyone takes it slow. If you expect to eat prepare to wait double the time expected. However, if your looking for a peaceful, friendly, and quite place to relax for maybe half an hour to an hour, this is your place. The staff is very helpful and courteous yet very slow and sometimes inattentive. The establishment is clean with a calm ambiance and classy decor. The food is good with a variety of selection which includes the typical western and Dominican dishes. If your expecting high end, this is not it. But the price is comparable to other local restaurants in the area with this type of western feel. Food range from 10-15 dollars. Overall this cafe was a great experience and i do recommend it to anyone who's looking for a relaxed breakfast or lunch. Or even if you just need a place to slow down.

We loved this place with such a lovely and friendly staff. José & Erik are not only super competent, they really enjoy giving the guests the best experience possible. The place itself is very cozy with loooot of details and cute decoration. If you're in Santo Domingo and misses the European vibes, you should definitely try it out!

Just a block from Calle El Conde, this cafe is a hidden gem. It's perfectly nestled just far enough from the hustle and bustle with food and drink options for everyone. The crepes are magnifique and croissants flaky and buttery. I ordered an Irish coffee to go with and definitely wanted another while my companion had the freshest fruit juice. The vibes were morning perfect. We will definitely be dining there again.

This is a very cute coffee shop. You'd walk past it if you didn't know it was there. There are no outlets, so do not plan on taking any meetings that require you to connect anything. The food is very good, and the space is great for a journaling session. :-) I would go here to eat, or a quick coffee shop.

Nice ambience and decor, free wifi and excellent coffee. I ordered an Americano with milk on the side and was charged for a large Cappucino instead. The coffee itself was strong and flavorful 👍🏼 However, I wasn't quite as impressed with the food and speed of service. I ordered Crepe Niza, a crepe stuffed with eggs scrambled with onions and tomatoes. It took about half an hour to arrive and was somewhat disappointing. The crepe itself was thin, but soggy. The filling was fairly bland, no hint of any herbs or spices, nor any salt or pepper. Onions had not been sauteed to bring out the flavor... The whole thing was covered with a generous helping of tasteless white cheese as well. I had to sprinkle a liberal amount of salt and black pepper to make this dish palatable for me. It's a fairly pricey restaurant by Dominican standards (around $10 USD for coffee and crepe) and I expected better from the kitchen.

Excellent coffee and drink options. Free wifi for quick meetings if needed. Wide array of tasty breakfast foods both sweet and savory. Nestled right in the old city in a perfectly set environment. Would recommend anyone looking for a great cup of coffee to stop by.

Fantastic cafe, my favorite in the Zona Colonial! Large menu with crepes, waffles, eggs benedict, coffees, and more. The only suggestion would be arrive before the crowd, between the fan and a full cafe, it was very loud in there. Otherwise an incredible and memorable experience!

This is a great place to eat in the Colonial Zone. The staff is fantastic, food is great, and they have a great coffee menu. It’s clean and quiet. We ate here multiple times, as it was two blocks from where we stayed. We will definitely be back next year.

We had breakfast twice at this cafe. Is definitely a hit or miss. First experience was great, the service was good and the food was tasty. We decided to go back. Second time was a complete disaster, 30 minutes to get our drinks. Their excuse was that they were short staffed and we understood and waited. But when the food arrive was not even what we asked for. Every plate was done completely different from what we ordered. We were planning on having breakfast every day here due to the first experience but it will not be the case.

👍👍 The venue is very cute, the view on the ocean is spectacular. The staff was super friendly this day. The food was really good and arrived extremely fast. I had Mofongo (So delicious) and Sancocho (very good)! The only pros was the dessert.
