The food was very good when we finally got it. We were ignored so much before someone finally got to our table and took our orders. The décor is top notch and the whole atmosphere is very chill. And beware of the bottled water, 2 bottles was the priciest thing on our bill. In conclusion, it was very good, definitely worth the visit but don't go there hungry.

Hands down one of the most inspiring and beautiful venues I've visited in a long time. The art deco decor with Caribbean vibes is just absolutely brilliant and gorgeous. The attention to detail in the way this place looks and feels, in everything from the lighting to the art and velvet furniture, to every plate being colourful and the flamingoes and patterned ceilings in the bathrooms. The food was great too, the ceviche served with a smoky surprise and all the dishes very tasty. The place serenely has a policy that photos taken with a professional camera are forbidden, which they were not very friendly about as I wasn't even allowed to take private photos of my child in the room which feels a bit like overkill of their rules. Anyway, recommend the spot! Thanks for the food!

Maracas is a must if you are visiting the Colonial Zone. Even if you don’t have dinner, drinks and appetizers will do. When you walk inside you feel you are in another world. The staff is young, energetic and quick. We were able to come even though we didn’t have a reservation. My suggestion is you reserve with time. We just happen to get a table last minute. The food was leveled up with the price. Everything we ordered was on point. Pork Belly, risotto, raviolis and mofongo. The flatbread was 👍🏾. Can’t wait to come back and try something else on the menu.

Maraca is the most beautiful restaurant I've ever been. Once you go in you feel a different vibe which will actually make you food experience way better. The food is complex to describe because it is really good but no the best, but maraca offers you a complex, special and unique flavor. The flavors are quite different and special that I feel sometimes may be a gamble between what I like and what I am used to eat. I will definitely go back, order the con on de mariscos and other things to try again. Love it.

This restaurant is beautifully decorated, it has no waste, every corner has a different type of decor, my fave was the small space with the book shelf. Overall, it is ver instagrammable!! The food was ok, not great, a little over priced in my opinion. The old fasion drink they have which a Maraca's version, has ginger, however, the ginger was over powering and it was imposible to drink, also, the waiter refused to switch it for another drink, so that was a waist. Other than that, the staff was very friendly and also very willing to take pictures of us. I would definitely recommend it.

One of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to and wish there was a location where I live! (Vancouver, Canada) The food was exceptional and delicious, the environment and ambience was absolutely gorgeous and high class. The SERVICE was the BEST service I have ever had in a restaurant. If you eat here at Maraca, they will treat you like royalty and serve every little thing to you, it is amazing and everyone is so lovely, kind and respectful. I was obsessed with the grilled octopus, we also ordered their delicious cocktails, and I also had fried okra and the mandarin/goat cheese salad. Definitely coming back here when we visit the Dominican again. 100% would recommend to anybody going to the Dominican! Worth the drive to Santo Domingo from Punta Cana if you want a high quality meal and experience.

Discriminatory treatment of customers! We stopped at this restaurant for a late lunch, around 2:30 p.m. and as we walked in I noticed the hostess (Emily) gave us a disgusting look. She asked us if we had a reservation, which we did not, but went on to seat us. While the restaurant was not even half full, with plenty of room in the main dining room, and in their very nice courtyard, she seated us in the back of the restaurant, away from any other customers. The waiter came, started giving us the specials, and we went ahead and ordered, but after he brought us our drinks I asked him “why were we seated here, as if you were embarrassed to have us as customers?” His response confirmed my suspicion that something was not right, he “said, it wasn’t me, I have nothing to do with it.” So I asked him to check with the hostess. After he left, I noticed that he was avoiding our table, so again I called him over and asked him if he had talked to the hostess, and without looking me in the face he said that the hostess had seated us there because my friend was wearing a hair net. So I asked to speak to the manager, who came over and after I explained the situation he said "didn’t the hostess explain to you why?" Obviously not, but he did offer a very poor apology and nothing more. Had they explained to us at the door that they had a dress policy, we would have had the option to go somewhere else, or remove the hair net. But instead, they chose to treat us as people with some kind of contagious disease and place us in a corner away from everyone. At this point I was prepared to leave the place, but my friend talked me into staying. However, in spite of the food being fairly good, I did not enjoy my meal, and I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There is a respectable way to treat customers, and this place obviously has no clue. The hostess simply made a judgement without giving us the option to adjust and we were treated in kind by everyone thereafter throughout our whole meal there.

I HIGHLY recommend! If only for the different twist on grilled steak 🥩 which they slice into bite-sized portions!! The drinks at STRONG and the restaurant is gorgeous and filled with Latin/Dominican History 👍🏾

Upmarket restaurant, great atmosphere and decor. Food was super tasty too (had the Lamb pasta, ceviche and fish tacos) less traditional food and more international flavors- I came twice it was that good! Great cocktails, expect to pay close to NYC prices though. Be mindful to book for evenings when busy.

I would give it 5 stars if I didn't dislike under-the-table transactions so much. We waited an hour while watching newly arrived guests slip dollar bills to the hostess and get seated before us. Perhaps this place should pay the hostess a decent wage so that she can say no to bribes and smile a little. Otherwise, it's one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever seen, colorful, vibrant, everyone is dressed at their best, tall ceilings, plants, mirrors, lights. A really fun place for the eyes. Food was delicious. The big portions are big, they are to share. Wine and cocktails were both very good. There was an American guy with his laptop at the bar for the hour we waited, he kinda spoiled the ambience.

Looks unassuming from the outside but when you walk in, you know it is high quality. Excellent ambiance. We had a party of six and they were able to seat us even though it was busy. Our party had a good mix of starters, entrees and desserts. Checkout their online menu. Locals recommended this place and they have said it it the best on the island.

I stopped here for a couple of cocktails and appetiser. It’s expensive for DR, but nice for a special occasion or to check out the bar for some drinks. The cocktails were pretty good, but I think they could improve these a bit with more interesting (surprising) flavours and garnishes for the price. The eggplant starter was super delicious - highly recommend getting that. A couple of the waiters seemed to be in a bad mood/distracted, but there were also a couple nice ones too. The ladies at the door were friendly and welcoming.

The food was sooooo good and the restaurant was beautiful! We paid like $60 for 3 courses or so so the price was great. Also they made us delicious cocktails. The server was really nice and overall the service was great. Def will be coming back. Perfect for date night.

Absolutely fantastic place. The best in DR for sure. Interior, service, taste, serving - above expectations. We ordered maraca ceviche and braise octopus for starters, seafood tortellini for main, coco cake and white chocolate cake for desserts, pina colada and old fashioned for cocktails; and cappuccino. Everything was amazing, balanced tastes, perfect seasonings.

Maraca was wonderful. This was not only one of the best dining experiences I've had in Santo Domingo, but one of the best I've ever had, period. The service was fantastic, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was magical. The cocktails were bright and balanced. We were torn between sitting inside or on the patio because the whole restaurant is styled beautifully. Outside, as it got dark, they projected tropical scenes onto the walls. We were blown away. Can't wait to return someday!

This restaurant bar is beautifully styled and the service is attentive. The waitress at the floor was a little confused with some of my orders but good overall. We came for lunch on a Sunday. It was perfect and fantastic. The space is immaculate, grand, open, and honestly perfect. The servers are great. A little more french-style serving than I care for, and when the restaurant was busy you could feel the strain as servers spend a lot of time when each course comes out. That said, they were friendly, professional, neat, and knew the menu well. The food was as beautiful as the space. Plates, food design, textures, taste, and temperature were all just exquisite. Wverythjg needed a photo. We will be back every time we are in Santo Domingo. Thank you!

Upscale restaurant in the colonial area of Santo Domingo. Beautifully decorated, delicious dishes and great staff. Don’t forget to take a picture at the entrance with their famous painting of a woman staring down at you!

The food and drinks were top tier. The best grilled octopus I’ve had in my life. I also recommend the fried olives and the Maraca punch 🔥

I’ve eaten at many restaurants around the world, 5 star places, Michelin star restaurants and countless tasting menus and maraca has topped them all. I’m also very honest with my reviews. The cocktails were 10/10. The food was 10/10. We had ravioli, the flautas, crispy olives, egg plant and sushi roll. The restaurant itself so aesthetically pleasing. Very boho vibes. Chic and elegant. I was obsessed the moment i walked in. I would say the only “negative” thing was that the washrooms aren’t clearly labels so i almost walked into the men’s.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful! It is kind of hidden, meaning that from the outside you would guess what is inside, but once you are in it is amazing. Every single detail is curated and it makes such a beautiful environment. I think this has been the best dinner we had between Punta Cana and Santo Domingo, and probably here I had the best octopus of my life. I suggest trying the Focaccia, and the octopus. Overall definitely suggested!!

Maraca has an amazing atmosphere. The outside patio has images projected into the walls at night which gives it a veru distinct feeling as they change and you see yourself surrounde by nature, waterfalls or other images. The food is excellent and reasonably priced for the quality of it. Service is good. Only bad thing is that the online menus failed the day we where there and even though they have paper ones, it is really hard to read them as the restaurant is pretty dark and there is no lights whatsoever in the tables (not even a candle).

Was in the colonial zone with my nieces and nephew and we decided to enjoy a nice dinner before having a night on the town. We were recommended to go to Maraca and we’re glad we did. The restaurant had great service, atmosphere and the food was also very good. Would just recommend updating the menu to remove the options which are no longer available to avoid disappointing customers who would have ordered it, otherwise it was 5 stars all around!

Such a cool place! The projectors on the walls were so cool and unique. The bathroom gives White Lotus vibes. The food was great, although portions were small and pricey. We ordered 4 dishes and weren't full..Try the fried olives. 😋 Be sure to make a dinner reservation, as it can get busy!

Wow! I had the Tomahawk with asparagus, mashed au gratin and tostones. Simply amazing. Dipped everything in the tomahawk gravy which added a burst of flavor to everything we ate. One of the best meals I have had on the island.

Whoever designed the interior of this restaurant succeeded in transporting you into a relaxing and enriching place to eat. The cuisine was excellent along with the staff. Everywhere I eat in the colonial section was great, but this was the best meal I had.

  • 3/5 Romer T. 10 months ago on Google
The fanciest restaurant in colonial zone where everyone wants to go to have their own picture. A very exquisite atmosphere full of Santo Domingo’s JetSet. People come here to show off when food experience was okay and nothing out of this world. Recommend to a trendy night out with friends. The whole Decoration takes 10/10 with amazing materials to make it more beautiful.

It’s a very special and popular venue with absolute VIP service! The staff is wonderful and has the knowledge of what they are doing, great recommendations and cocktails. The ambience it’s another experience like no other in DR. Decorated with delicacy and great taste. You can feel the love in the choices in the menu and the food! Favorites: the goat cheese focaccia and the pork dumplings. The absolute best: the mushrooms risotto!

The place is so cool and the staff is super friendly. However, the food was not very good. It wasn’t bad, but for the price we expected something better. I would definitely go again, but rather for a drink and to enjoy the ambience.

What an espectacular place and experience! I mean this place is a MUST! The decor, atmosphere and ambiance is second to none and something I have never experienced before…it’s darn right perfect! From the art work, to the plate setting, to the decorations and lighting - I can’t gush about it enough…it’s just SO COOL! The service was extremely professional, very attentive and friendly. All staff I came across couldn’t be more helpful and attentive if they wanted to. Now the food! WOW! It was amazing and perfect! All the flavors and the size of the servings were delicious. The Wagyu Beef Tiradito was very flavorful and very delicious, the Chistorra Roll was fantastic! The flavors were enhanced by each bite and they were pretty amazing. My cheese, mandarin and chicken salad was absolutely nothing short than perfect! Now the dessert the Fondant de Dulce de Leche WAS ESPECTACULAR! Mouth-watering! Seriously IT IS A MUST!! It was OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING! ONE OF THE BEST DESSERTS I HAVE HAD!!! My only mistake was not returning here every night during my business trip in the Dominic Republic to try their other menu items…because NO other restaurant that I tried while in Santo Domingo came even close to the AMAZING food, service, atmosphere and dinner experience at Maraca. My compliments to the chef!
