Quite an awesome building, probably used to be the residence of the shafts of a former fortress or something similar. Anyway, on the other side there is a wall with cannons and a good view of the river. A cool museum there at the moment. It's definitely worth going.

If you stop in Santo Domingo, do not forget to pass by this house full of history. It is a very interesting visit to do with the audio guides which are distributed at the entrance and which explain the history of this palace in the language of your choice. Count 1 hour to go around. Toilets are located on the square outside the building and restaurants just opposite allow you to eat after the visit.

Touring the house of Diego Colon is a great way to spend an afternoon. The original settlement was located on the east bank of the Ozama, but a hurricane forced them to relocate to the west bank. The building was renovated by the dictator Trujillo, and now it's one of the most popular tourist attractions in Zone Colonial.
