A very iconic place in the Dominican Republic culture. It's totally for free. There's a statue that represents a important moment in our history, you can research for more and it's really hot because there's no roof where you can chill, you can take nice pictures there or to exercise by running all over the place.

Beautiful! Dominicans should take a lot of pride in this place. Very patriotic and perfect to take pictures for both resident and tourist. I would just recommend to come here either earlier in the morning or later in the afternoon. I came here during the mid-day around 12pm and it was SUPER HOT!

Plaza de la Bandera República Dominicana is a historical landmark and the biggest monument dedicated to the Dominican flag. It’s located at Plaza de la Bandera (flag square) on the intersection of Avenida 27 de Febrero and Avenida Gral. Gregorio Luperón, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The Flag Square, Plaza de la Bandera in Spanish, is the biggest monument dedicated to the Flag of Dominican Republic, is located in one of the busiest areas of the city of Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), at the intersection of the Avenues February 27 [es]and Gregorio Luperon. It is a patriotic monument seeks to pay tribute to one of the most important national symbols of the nation. The current Flag Square was built in 1978 during the government of Dr. Joaquín Balaguer as the center of a complex of public buildings including the headquarters of Ministry of Defense, the Central Electoral Board, the Institute for Price Stabilization (INESPRE), the Dominican Agrarian Institute (IAD) and the Center for Import and Investment, among others. In February 1997, President Leonel Fernándezreopened the monument after having undergone a remodeling, and renamed Flag Square (Plaza de la Bandera), replacing Independence Square, as it was originally called. Info available at Wikipedia.

it's a beautiful monument... but people are getting robbed right by the side walk!... on broad day light!???... do the government care about their national image ever?

Beautiful, clean. Very little information posted in the area about the landmark. I would have liked to learn more, but needed to Google it to read about it instead. I did not pay to enter so there is likely more available that I did not access.

My beautiful flag. This a very secure location since it's located alongside the arm forces headquarters.

Simply a place with many Dominican flags, but filled with culture. Great for pictures. However there’s no shade, and you have to sit on the floor.

Filthy island monkeys, it's what Dominicans are!! Can't even speak Spanish properly, yet they think it gives them some pathetic distinction which it doesn't.
