More charm than four Tates. Please go. Audio guide is 👌🏻. All the galleries and municipal stuff around here is great.

Very well structured knowledge base of the Dominican culture and very reach on primitive artifacts and explanations. Staff very trained on social studies and very friendly. A little outdated on the edification itself but nothing too drastic, just would appreciate a little more effort on catching the tourists views by upgrading more the building itself.

This compact museum was a phenominal way to learn precolumbian history directly from the descendents of the first Caribbean people. The signage balanced a global perspective with personal stories, allowing visitors to understand the facts without getting bogged down by a barrage of details. Spanish language signage was written at about a sixth grade reading level with the exception of some technical terms. (Fortunately for me, most of these were derived from Greek and Latin roots with cognates in English.) No audio tour in Spanish or another language was available; my eyes became tired from so much reading. The modern building was fully wheelchair accessibility, although like many museums, the galleries could have used more seating. The first floor was well lit, while the second floor was dark for ambiance. The second floor included imagery of bloodless human sacrifice and ritualist cohoba inhalation, which may bother some visitors. Tickets prices were RD$100 (US$1.75) for adults and RD$20 (US$0.35) for students, once again an amazing bargain for so much history. While the scope of this musuem was super specific and may not be for everyone, I believe this was best location in the world to discover the full spectrum of early Caribbean culture.

There's only one room on Taino culture open at present with information boards in Spanish.

Very cool museum. A little dated, and they seem to have a problem with lights. However, it was very nice to learn more about the history of the DR, including pre-colonial, colonial, and independence eras. Top floor has an amazing display of Carnival (Independence Day) celebrations in the DR, with region-specific costumes and customs.

Really, informative museum, I highly recommend stopping by. It's not that big of a museum, so you don't have to plan a whole day detour it

This is a small, simple museum that is well worth the visit. It cost me 100 DOP. I don't speak Spanish very well, but I used my phone to translate the various placards. The insights into Taino culture were tantalizing and fascinating, as were the illustrations of how the various cultures that now comprise the Dominican person came to the island.

It's old and falling apart but it does have interesting displays and some beautiful taino objects. The admission price is not inflated.

It was not worth the money honestly. They had a lot of areas sealed off due to remodeling, I assumed. I really wasn’t worth it.
