IKEA Santo Domingo was the perfect place to find details to decorate your place but not anymore. Two funny things happened on my recent visit. The first one was that I went to purchase a chair that I took a picture of the price and 2 weeks after I return to get the chair instead of the prices to go down because of the economics difficulties due to pandemic, the prices went up and flying like rocket, showing a chair price that went from $8000 to almost $12000Dominican pesos, almost $4000 pesos more than the previous price. The same thing with a desk I took a picture of from my previous review. Price went up almost $4000 pesos more. It’s ridiculous. When I showed the picture with the difference in price. The representative just told me: well that’s the price now and there is nothing we can do. Either you get it or you don’t. Nasty attitude. The cashiers needs more costumer service training. They need to understand they are not selling their personalities, rather they are representing IKEA philosophy that I think it is to make the costumers feel welcomed and with the desire to always return for something more…! Prices are too be more affordable. I just took a picture of a beautiful sofa but I was shocked at the price $164,000 pesos at IKEA waooooo, outrageous! It seems like IKEA is competing in elevated prices with ILUMEL!!! Wooooooh!

If you've ever been into an Ikea, its exactly the same in DR. Clean, orderly and restaurant has tasty food.

Many staff standing around vs helping. Stock in computer shows inventory yet the Representative said "none" without looking... 💡

The place is good, but the cafeteria is a nightmare. They didn't have any of the things I wanted to eat, no bread for hot dogs, no ice cream, no nothing

Poor customer service, constantly out of stock, long delivery times and no chance ever to get an employee on the phone who can help you. Incredible! Where is IKEA headquarters... how can you let this happen?

Don't go! this place is unbelievable the only retail store in all of Santo Domingo possibly the entire country that requires a Vaccine to enter what a joke Blu Mall Angira and all the rest don't require a vaccine card to spend money wake up dominicans and fight for our basic rights my girlfriend and i were escorted off the premises like criminals is thus freedom i think not

IKEA is a modern day colonizing company. They exploit 3rd world countries. A 3 seat Kivik is almost €800 cheaper in Europe than in Dominican Republic. Unacceptable!!!!

Where to buy good furniture for your home, what they are selling are very good quality.

Excellent place for buying forniture and home's stuff like kitchen, bath room, all indoor and outdoor for home. Excellent food court.

You have to store your backpack which is fine, but their lockers don't work. Took over 30 minutes for someone to come fix the problem

They've got new inventory, a little differemt than what they've usually had.Always organized, clean and pleasimg to the eye. The sales clerks are back to being attentive as they were when it first opened. Lots of meal choices in the food court.

I loved Ikea Santo Domingo. Even if is smaller than US stores it has a great selection of products.

Prices are getting lower this week. Good breakfast at a low price, very quick and gentle service. Really beautiful & Minimalistic furniture at a great price. Come and and plan your life.

Ikea is a world-renowned furniture store that most people know and love, and it's no different in this Santo Domingo store. The store is enormous! So prepare to walk! It has ample parking spaces and ease access to the strore.

Slow service for kids play area. We spent 45 mins waiting to check in our toddler and 8yr. daughters and then had to come back 30 mins after given the high volume of kids they have. We were not able to finish our closet purchase and ended up wasting more than 1hr of our lives there. 😔

I'm a fan of Ikea. Im so sad we dont have a big one North of the island. The one in santiago is a small floor sample store. I can spend hours in that store.

Purchase food didn't eater all, was charged 25 pesos for a bag, also purchase a hot dog and a donut was charged for the container to put my donut in,

Customer service is awful. We have purchased at the Ikea Santo Domingo store and they could barely figure out how to process a return on an item that we purchased that day and changed our mind about before even receiving the item. I had to file a dispute with my credit card. We have attempted to purchase online and their delivery service is a joke. If you don't answer the call as soon as they call, they cancel your order. I missed the called, called back several times over the next 2 hours and no one answered. I called the following morning and was told I need to place a new order and go through this whole process again. If they answer the phone some of the reps will act like they can't hear you and hang up. Ask for a supervisor? They don't have one. Only reason I deal with this ridiculous company is because this island has few options for basic household goods. SImply awful.

Great place to buy but cashiers are very very very slow. You will have to wait more than an hour to checkout with your cart. Ikea has to do a better job at training and checking out their customers. WOW!

Must go place if looking for furniture or appliances. Huge locations and excellent temperature conditioning. Nice food court. Above average customer service. Huge parquing lot.

The location is quite easy to access through the metro or by car. I liked the shopping experience. And the employees are nice and helpful.

As organized as always. Great staff, alwats caring to get you assisted. The only complaint I will always have is how the subdivision of the store affects any quotes you try to get. I mean they cant give you a quote in the beds department if you are in the kitchen section. I mean is the same PLACE, (but whatever).

This store is horrible!!!!! As an owner of several properties worldwide, I have shopped at several Ikea stores. This is the only store that makes it nearly impossible to return or exchange anything!!!! Even with a 3 day old receipt.. It's absolutely ridiculous !!!!!! My wife and I had to argue with management for over an hour to take back one of 4 items because it was defective. The ikea receipt clearly states if your not satisfied with the items and have your receipt, you can return the item within 7 days. The Santo Domingo store is a horrible representation of the Ikea brand. They need serious training in customer service.

Any decorations for any room you can find them here! They have anything! You can spend a whole day here and they even have a restaurant. Every time I come to Dominican Republic I love to shop here! Some many decoration ideas!!!

Love Ikea in the States and love this one too. Always with reasonable prices and great quality. This one is full service and has everything, unlike the small store in Santiago.

Staff is helpful and they have all the standard IKEA stuff. We bought a clothing cabinet which we very much liked.

The prices of items in this store are almost double that in the United States. For example, the Stockholm 2017 couch is 3K USD, while it's 1,700 USD in the United States. This is just one example of their price gouging. We were in the store one day and had a handful of items. We picked up more than we expected to purchase, which you'd think is an excellent problem to have for a business. Three employees were standing around laughing and talking. We asked them if one could go and grab us a shopping cart. They refused. They told us where to walk to (with a handful of items) to retrieve it ourselves. They continued to stand around laughing and having fun. As others have mentioned, the customer service is significantly lacking in this store. The cashiers do not greet you. They barely look at you. I've had a cashier process my items, run my card (thought the terminal), and hand me my receipt, all while never looking at me. The problem is there isn't a lot of choice on this island. So you're kind of stuck with lousy customer service and overpriced products.

Best place to shop all you need for your home, good prices and good service. I really enjoy to visit them.

Ikea Dominican Republic infringes Ikea' s worldwide return policy, where according to the policy returns are permitted for opened as well as unopened items. I purchases an under sink cabinet online , but opening the box I realized the size was not as expected it would not fit under the Ikea sink I have. It was never used ,never assembled, the spare parts still in the plastic bag . They would not accept the return after 3 days only. How can a company with an international standard and reputation.lwhere in all country the policy is the same allow that in the DR they handle things their own ways. I grew up with Ikea in Europe and have been purchasing for 40 years and never returned any item nor had an issue with a product being damaged. I want a refund credit . I already had picked the Item I wanted to buy instead!!! IKEA SO DISAPPOINTING !!!!!!!
