What a great addition to the Santo Domingo fine-dining scene. The restaurants is beautifully designed and the service is very good. But, the standout for me was the food. I have never had grits in a Dominican restaurant before. And the shrimp and grits were great and done like I have never had them before. Other standouts: Bison Carpaccio, Oysters Rockefeller, Short Ribs and the most incredible Bread Pudding I have ever tasted. They also have a private space on the second floor that has live music on certain nights. It is also available for receptions. Every little detail has been thought of. Bravo and I hope you have a long and prosperous life, Naca'n! Update 1/25/22: Had brunch here on Sunday. Still highly-recommended. Brunch items to try are the avocado toast with a poached egg. I also loved the lox, bagel and cream cheese. Bravo!

Excellent service. Delicious food. The wait staff were very polite and pleasant. I will definitely go back! Lovely ambiance! The cocktail menu was great. Ambient music that is easy on the ears. The margarita was quite balanced.

A must see place to experience the excellent service, food and choice of wine. The decor is impressive with the high ceilings. Great selection of food and the quality is high. Had the striped bas with shrimp. Cooked to perfection and was tasty. The lobster bisque soup was also a treat as well as the dessert. This is an excellent full service restaurant.

Nice place, nice food, expensive for what you get, good food but not great. We tried the ceviche, carpaccio, Bone in Pork chop and a Caesar salad. Overall, it was ok, but definitely wouldn’t return for any of them. The red wine suggested by the waiter was great. The ambience was cozy, fancy, but we were the only ones there, a couple. I rated 4 star because I didn’t find an excuse to return, and we had other expectations.

Oh my goodness!!! Top notch service. Warm welcome and the food was outstanding. Great combination of flavors and wonderful presentation. The Captain Steak was to die for and the Short Ribs was beyond. Worth the price.

Nacan restaurant is a delightful dining experience in Santo Domingo. From the moment you walk through the doors, you are greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with cozy lighting and tasteful decor. The menu at Nacan offers a wide variety of dishes, from classic Dominican cuisine to international fare. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty meat dish or something lighter like a salad, there is something for everyone on the menu. One standout dish at Nacan is their seafood paella. Made with a generous amount of fresh seafood, the paella is bursting with flavor and perfectly cooked rice. The restaurant also offers a variety of delicious appetizers, including their plantain chips with homemade guacamole and their empanadas. In addition to the great food, Nacan also boasts excellent service. The staff is friendly and attentive, making sure that every customer feels welcome and satisfied with their meal. Overall, Nacan restaurant is a fantastic choice for anyone looking for a delicious meal in Santo Domingo. With its cozy atmosphere, wide variety of menu options, and excellent service, it's no wonder that this restaurant has become a favorite among locals and visitors alike. Highly recommended!

Walked in at 2:20 on a Saturday. There wasn't a single patron inside. I assumed they were closed but a hostess approached and sat me and my Gf. None of the staff speak English which is understandable so I used a translation app. I ordered the Oysters Rockefeller but they were out. But they did have raw or grilled oysters? Strange, but I went ahead and ordered shrimp cocktail, onion soup and crab cake. It took over 30min to arrive but before it did I ordered the short rib and Bronzino. They were out of short rib. This is at 2:45 on a Saturday afternoon? I went ahead and ordered the airline chicken. I was really hungry. The apps arrived and the soup was piping hot but, oddly the cocktail shrimp was room temp? The shrimp were also not properly deveined (a little gross). I’ve always had cocktail shrimp chilled because when warm you really risk bacteria growth. The crab cake was standard fare but again, warm not hot. I consumed the apps about 3 hours ago and as of now my stomach feels fine. The bizarre thing is, me and my gf WERE THE ONLY GUESTS. Why was the food consistently warm when it should have been chilled and room temp when it should have been hot? The exception being the soup? Regardless, the chicken arrived on a bed of mash starch but it wasn’t potato, and it was INCREDIBLY salty while the mash was again room temp, not hot, almost as though it were all reheated? The chicken was so salty I couldn’t eat it so I sent it back (they removed it from my check). My GF ate some Bronzino (which had bones in it) but her fries were room temp and soggy. All in all a rather disappointing experience. What makes it bizarre is that there were by my count at least 7 employees in the restaurant and we were THE ONLY GUESTS. I can’t imagine what it’s like when there’s more than 2 people dining. I wouldn’t recommend it.

Very sofisticated restaurant in the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. Specialized as steakhouse and sea foods, is very well located and with a flawless service. I tried a bisque de mais asado, as an entry, and a barramundi (also called Asian Sea Bass). Both super delicious. Worth trying.

There was a big disappointment with the cuisine of the best restaurant in Santo Domingo. There was no salt at all in salmon and lubin, as well as in the garnish. The only thing I liked was the dessert - Grand Marnier Souffle.

Amazing food, drinks and service. Anthony took great care of us and was extremely attentive. The oysters Rockefeller, wedge salad, pork chop and burger were all some of the best we’ve ever had.

I had an exceptional experience at Naca'n today and look forward to returning. I discovered it while wandering through Ciudad Colonial and stopped in for lunch to celebrate my birthday. I couldn't have found a better place to enjoy a beautiful meal on my special day. The staff, service, ambience, and food are beyond amazing! No matter where you are in the DR, this place is worth a visit. Fine dining at its best!

Took my family here, hoping for a delicious high end meal. The food tasted like cafeteria food, and as a chef myself, everything was lacking any flavor, salt or attention. The only good food I ate was calamari. Spent $22,000 pesos on food we did not eat, we told the server how bad it was and they did absolutely nothing to make it right. We left a table of food behind. Risotto tasted sour, mashed potatoes tasted like it was exactly that, only a potato which was smushed. Extremely disappointing. I wish we hadn’t wasted our last dinner in the city on this place and spent entirely too much money for bad food. Atmosphere looks very high end, prices are high end, but the food does not match.

"A Charming Brunch Experience at Naca'n” Tucked away in the historical district of Zona Colonial in Santo Domingo, you'll find Naca'n. This quaint restaurant, housed in a beautifully preserved century-old building, offers a brunch experience that is as charming as its location. Upon entering Naca'n, you're immediately taken by the blend of old-classic charm, that effortlessly sets the stage for a relaxed and enjoyable brunch. My brunch commenced with 'El Jose', a Dominican take on the Old Fashioned. This cocktail, made with Brugal rum and orange bitters, was a refreshing mix of bold, sweet, and citrusy flavors that were perfectly attuned to the tropical setting. The food was nothing short of remarkable. I began with a delightful couscous salad bursting with the natural sweetness of dates and the freshness of cherry tomatoes. It was a perfect way to start my culinary journey and set the tone for the main dish. The crabcake served with a corn salad and a side of paprika sauce was a delightful midday indulgence. The crabcake was crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The corn salad provided a delightful crunch, and the paprika sauce added a smoky depth to the dish. For dessert, I opted for the cookie skillet, a decadent choice that was the ideal finale to this culinary experience. The cookie, served with ice cream and a whiskey sauce, was warm, rich, and meltingly soft, making every bite an absolute delight. The impeccable service provided by Anderson only enhanced the experience. His attentiveness ensured that I had everything I needed, making my dining experience smooth and enjoyable. Considering the high quality of the food, unique drinks, excellent service, and remarkable ambiance, Naca'n offers good value for money, with prices averaging around $60-70 USD per person. Given my delightful brunch experience, I found this to be excellent value. In conclusion, Naca'n is a hidden gem that provides a distinctive brunch experience in Santo Domingo's historic heart. It offers a tantalizing blend of history and culinary creativity, providing a solo diner or a group of food enthusiasts an unforgettable experience. Don't pass up the opportunity to eat here – you'll not regret it!

A jewel of a restaurant with the best food I had in Santo Domingo so far. The quality of the service and its attentive staff really added to the experience. Historical location with dim lighting makes it perfect for special occasions. If you only have to pick one restaurant in SD, go for this one.

The location ambiance and food was delicious!! We started with cocktails and appetizers: lobster bisque, crab cakes, and oysters..We also had salads and stakes for the entree. Lobster Mac n cheese and mushroom risotto for the sides. The building is a beautifully restored bank; that coupled with Frank Sinatra playing in the background made it a romantic evening I will never forget.

Loved it! Great food and service. Possibly one of the best pork chops I've had and definitely rivaling anything in the states! Highly recommended

The food here is absolutely great. Your getting fine dining for a very affordable price. Definitely a place you want to have a nice date night at. Start with the Corn Bisque, and end the night with their bread pudding for dessert. (This is coming from someone who isn't big on bread pudding) You can thank me later 😉

Ive now been to this restaurant twice. It is beautiful with a wonderful ambiance. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Because of this, I recommended to my friends to go there for our New Years' dinner. We made reservations for 9pm and were quickly seated. We ordered drinks, appetizers and our dinner all at once. People the drinks came out about 30 mins later, appetizers 1 hour and was cold. I ordered grilled oysters and they were cold. We were hungry so we ate it...fearing how long it would take to reorder. Our entrées came 2.5 hours after ordering and the food again was cold and not prepared properly...this rack of lamb is barely rare and I ordered medium. We made it work and I may be back again...not sure.

We have been to many well known and fancy restaurants in Santo Domingo, but Naca'n is the only one I would call a fine dining restaurant. Our visit yesterday was truly outstanding. Every single dish at our table was delicious, the Tempranillo by glass was excellent (after cooling it for a few minutes) and the service was very kind and professional. We will definitively return on our next trip to DR!

Amazing. The word is amazing. Where do I start. The service was phenomenal and so was the food. Loved all of it. I truly enjoyed visiting this restaurant. This will be a staple when revisiting Santo Domingo.

Just had an awesome time at NacanDR! The place had a cool vibe, and the staff were so laid-back and friendly. Now, let's talk about the star of the show – the PORK BELLY. Seriously, it was a flavor explosion! Crispy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth goodness on the inside. Props to the chef for that masterpiece. And let's not forget the Naca'n Bread Pudding for dessert – a sweet dream come true. Washed it all down with a glass of Ramon Bilbao Verdejo, and it was the perfect pairing. The whole experience was top-notch – good food, good vibes, and good times at NacanDR. Can't wait to come back for more! 🎉
