Overall I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. All of the staff was super welcoming and helpful and the people staying there were also really nice people. They do a free activity of some kind everyday, usually something during the day, and then a bar and club later if you want to join; it was nice to have the options if I didn't have specific plans for part of the day. They also have free dinners (tips encouraged), which is nice when traveling on a budget. My only (minor) complaints would be that it could be a tad bit noisy at night and the building itself is not the newest, but overall it's a great place for the price with wonderful people, highly recommend!

I've been to over 30 hostels all around the world and this has been one of my favorites, best true hostel experience you could hope for. A great hostel starts and ends with the staff and volunteers, and these guys were the absolute best. They introduce themselves and you to every guest that's around, and remember your name. They truly care that you have a great experience and you most certainly will by staying here. Facilities are in good condition, beds were comfortable, bathrooms clean, kitchen functional and very clean and organized. Everyone was super friendly and I made great friends while there. Great location and easy to walk to plenty of must see sites, restaurants, bars, shopping, groceries, and public transportation. They book up fast and there's a reason why, it's a great hostel.

Best hostel I‘ve been to!!! If you want to experience a nice time, go on sightseeing with other hostel members or party all night, this is the place to go! I had such an amazing time and the staff was incredible. Everyone was so open and nice. I can‘t wait to be back!

Best hostel experience ever! Super easy to meet people, all very nice and open minded and a perfect mix of all nationalities. Help you out with whatever, big living room area, kitchen, free towels and padlock for rent. For real everything you need!! Staff also super nice. Sleeping rooms very quiet and good curtains for privacy. Bathrooms very clean and new. Hostel is very close to center ~5min walk to las Ramblas and ~25min walk to the beach. Recommend 100% couldn’t have been any better.

This hostel was one of the best i have stayed at. Location is great and all the staff are so amazingly kind and give the best service. The best part is they have dinners, drinks and they do laundry! Josh went above and beyond by helping with giving great directions and helped with some great recommendations for my trip itinerary. Would highly recommend staying here if you like to meet people and have some fun :)

Friendly staff, good location, not far from Las Ramblas. Easy to meet other travelers as they have nice common area and the hostel is cozy and not big. They also organize events every day like going to a Tapas Bar or club. The atmosphere is chilled, so if you don’t wanna go out the hostel is quiet enough to get a good sleep.

I loved this hostel! Everything was great about it! The location, the people and the atmosphere! Chung and Lana in the reception were absolutely great, very sweet and helpful. they love their job and they are willing to help with everything you may need. Hostel was clean, very centrally located , near the metro and close to the old town of Barcelona. Its both a party and a chill relaxing hostel, depends on your mood you can have both! They organize fun things to do almost every night so its a great place if you wanna meet other travelers but its also super cool and you can have your own privacy if you wanna have more solo time. Totally recommended!!

One of my favourite hostels in Europe! This cosy place has everything you need and so much more. The atmosphere is welcoming and inclusive with the staff often cooking free dinners. Each bed is in a 'pod' to provide privacy and the location is perfect!

For solo travelers seeking to meet new people and make connections, this hostel is undoubtedly one of the best options available. I personally had a fantastic time here, meeting many great individuals and exploring the city with newfound friends. The location is also excellent, with a wide selection of superb restaurants in the vicinity. The hosts are incredibly friendly and hospitable, making you feel welcome and at home during your stay. The nightly family dinner, while somewhat overrated in terms of the food itself, is a fantastic opportunity to socialize with other hostel guests. Although the meal may not always be filling, the drinking games that follow are an excellent way to continue the fun and socializing. Regarding the rooms, I do feel that better ventilation is needed, especially in the upstairs rooms where the windows are frequently closed. This can lead to a stuffy and unpleasant atmosphere, particularly in the morning. Additionally, the bathrooms lack hooks to hang your clothes, which can be a minor inconvenience. However, these are minor nitpicks that could enhance the overall experience for guests.

Clean and pleasant. Very friendly and nice staff. Nice social activities. Club/night oriented (no morning social activities or walks, only from the afternoon). Rooms are modern. Beds are relatively comfy and fine, with drawers under. You need to bring or rent towels and locks. Location is in city, not city center, but reasonable. I slept well with earplugs.(bunks also have a nice blanket-curtain for privacy and light blocking). Music in social area and lounge/kitchen is too loud. (but turned down/reasonable after everyone leaves). Plenty of hot water and nice showers+toilet. For a hostel, really nice. Not perfect, but great overall. Would be nice if less loud music, and morning walks.

Hostel one Ramblas was the best place to stay in Barcelona! As a first time traveler, they really brought me in and made it feel like home. The staff was extremely helpful, and always made sure my needs were met. The cleanliness of the hostel was tip-top shape and the added free dinner and overall warm energy was the cherry on top. Very pleased and miss it already! :-)

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed in! I booked a four-night stay at Hostel One Ramblas as I was traveling for my first overseas trip since the Covid pandemic ended. I was keen to meet new people but also not be in a ‘party hostel’. This place came up, had plenty of good reviews, so I went with it… and I’m glad I did. PRO: first off, I want to thank Taylor, Martha, Alicia and Augustin - the amazing staff. They were all wonderful, friendly and helpful, offering advice, tips and local knowledge whenever asked. All four made a conscious effort to chat and engage with all of the guests, organized fun activities and day trips, and helped get new guests talking to one another. I really liked the reception area. There was a large kitchen that was kept clean and accessible, but the highlight was the seated area with plenty of activities and things to do - books, to movies, board games and a PS3 - a ‘winners stays on tournament’ was great fun (even if I didn’t win too many games of FIFA)! The location was fab. About 5-10 minutes walk from the famous La Ramblas, and a metro station just a few minutes away too. So, whether you want to go out and party or spend time seeing all of the glorious sights Barcelona has to offer, like the Gothic Quarter, Plaça De Catalunya etc, it’s perfect. The rooms were kept clean, as were the bathrooms. I’ve stayed in some hotels where there were spiders, stains on the sheets, or dirty bathrooms. At no point did I ever have concerns about hygiene. The bed was comfy, and the curtains helped with privacy. CONS: the only negative I can put down is that one of the rooms is misleading when booking. I went for an 8 bed dorm but when I checked in, it was 16 - with a 3/4 ‘wall’ dividing the 2 sets of 8. The wall was just a thin piece of wood or plasterboard with a door, that didn’t go all of the way up to the ceiling. I suspect people prefer smaller rooms so this was a way to make two small(er) rooms without actually making it two rooms. But, I slept fine, and enjoyed my stay, so it’s a minor blemish on what was a great hostel and I would be more than happy to stay there again.

I had an exceptional hostel experience that stands out among the best I've ever had. The atmosphere was incredibly lively and filled with a positive energy, fostering a vibrant social scene. The staff, in particular, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. I must give special credit to Santi, who went above and beyond to ensure guests felt at home and had a memorable time.

One of the best hostels I stayed. I only give five stars because I can't rate it higher. Location is perfect in the city center 5 min walk from la rambla, it is super clean, the dorms are spacious and the beds very comfortable, the staff is super nice and friendly. It is the right hostel for solo travelers since there are daily activities day and night that incentivate the guests to meet each other, from sunset walks to the bunkers el carmel to nightouts and dinners every night. Everyone does a great job keeping the atmosphere of the hostel at the very top. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you all, Agustin, Cami, Eva, Tim, Santiago, Augusto, Oliwia

Hostel One is currently the highest rated hostel chain in the world. Whilst this is the first time I've stayed at a Hostel One (I've probably stayed in over a hundred hostels over the years of world travels), I can see why it is held in such high regard. The staff were superb (Marta, Agustin, Emilia, Santi - to name a few) and went out of their way to create a safe, friendly, clean and social environment for people to enjoy. It's perfect if you're solo travelling as the hostel put on daily activities (walking tours, beach games, etc). The evenings also include a 'tip-based' dinner at the hostel followed by a couple of bars. Useful WhatsApp group is set-up to keep updated with goings on. The rooms are good - I started in an 8-bed dorm which should actually be called a 16-bed dorm as there's only a thin partition between 2 rooms. Perhaps Hostel One management should be clear about this? Wasn't an issue for me - but I'm sure others could have a problem if they've paid extra to stay in 8-bed ;) There's a nice terrace area on the first floor which was a decent little chill out space. Washing facilities were all clean and, despite the size of the hostel, I didn't have to wait for a shower in the morning or evening. Thought I would as I could only find 2 showers. Location is great with most of the main areas (beach, ramblas, city, gothic quarter, El Born) all within 20-30min walk. I regularly visit Barcelona - and I've now found my new home for when I'm there ♥️

Couldn’t say better things about the staff here, all on such a good, friendly vibe and very helpful. The bathrooms were on the good end, with options between multiple different ones. Hairdryers, curlers, and mirrors in bathrooms and common areas to get ready. They have activities to do with the group everyday. Dinner each night that was always so welcoming. The only downside I would say was the bed I originally was placed with was right next to the door of a small dorm room and the door was extremely squeaky and slammed very loud and I could feel it in the bed. Also the drawer locker that I put my suitcase in blocked the door from opening or people from coming in and out, so it made it very difficult to change and access my belongings. I had to ask to move to another bed, that was already open. Once I had the more enclosed pod style bed, it was better, but the drawer lockers and small room did make it hard to sleep even with earplugs. So if you are a light sleeper or like to sleep before midnight or after 8am, this may be a challenge if you’re on the first floor or in a smaller room. Being a solo female traveler, I like to feel safe in all areas around a hostel and this place did have good restaurants within quick walking distance, BUT there are homeless that sleep right outside on the street and a skate park close by. All in all, if you are a strong willed and outgoing traveler, this is your place. Always have self defense ready no matter where you go. I wound recommend this place to friends!

Amazing staff, Augusto and the others are the best! Super kind people and all the other guests were friendly for the most part. They do tours around the city and offer lots of group outings which let you make tons of new friends, with tons of other little perks (cheap beer, padlocks, soap etc). Rooms and bathrooms are clean, totally recommend to anyone staying in Barca for a few days or weeks.

Best Hostel experience I've had. Staff were amazing, Marta on reception is an angel. There were day activities, a free dinner provided and drinking activities. Options for those who want to go out and party and for those who fo not as well. Definitely will be staying again!

First time in Europe & a hostel and my experience was great! Met a lot of very nice people who were helpful and very welcoming. They set up events each day which is nice considering I was traveling alone. Got to see a lot of the city but also experience the nightlife. They definitely take you in like a family! Will definitely consider hostel one again in the future.

Best hostel I’ve ever been in! Once in a lifetime memories created here, the staff are so friendly and make you feel so comfortable. It’s like a family and everyone becomes friends. Super social hostel, events throughout the day, family dinners, and organized going out events. The beds were so comfortable and clean (smelled really good). If you are looking for an experience like no other, you need to go here. Good for both solo and traveling with others.

I had a wonderful stay here, the staff members were really nice, especially squid, he gave me some really good tips and information about the city. If you lose something in the hostel like I did, the chance are you'll most likely find it downstairs in the "lost" compartment box. Overall a really good hostel with a very lively environment. The room was nice, you get your own lockers as well.

It was an amazing experience deciding to stay at hostel one ramblas! The location is convenient, the facilities are very clean, and the volunteer staff are absolutely warm and friendly. It's a bit more of a smaller hostel but I liked that because it gave more of a family vibe. The nightly free diners are a great way to meet cool people and break the ice which can be difficult at other hostels. There also daily activities and night events which were probably the highlight of the experience with free entry to cool bars and clubs. Particularly memorable were the nights when Tom (staff) was the party leader for a few of the nights I was there - the drinking games we played with him were quite fun and he helped facilitate bonding between all the guests which helped us to get to know each other better and make solid friendships. Would recommend Hostel One Ramblas to anyone!

I had the pleasure of staying at Hostel One Ramblas. The rooms were clean, as were the bathrooms. The staff, especially "Squid," was professional and gave me a great tour of the facilities, as well as answering all my questions. He was a very friendly person, and I hope to encounter more people like him in the future. The location of the hostel was ideal, close to every interesting places. Keep up the great work and greetings to the whole team. You guys are awesome!!!

Such a sweet place!! All the staff and volunteers are super friendly, everyone I met was super rad, everything is very clean too. I had a bike with me and they had plenty of space to store it (outside but secure). The rooms are even surprisingly insulated and quiet even when the common room is noisy. I’d definitely go back!

My stay at this hostel was exceptional. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed thanks to the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. The place was impeccably clean, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable for a hostel. The location was ideal, making it easy to explore the city, and the nightlife in the area was exciting. The management provided top-notch service, always willing to assist and provide helpful information. I felt right at home here and will definitely return on my next trip. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

My stay at Onefam Ramblas was exceptional, not only due to the fantastic facilities but also because of the incredible people. The hostel staff and fellow travelers created a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, making my experience truly memorable. My only recommendation is to stay with the group for any late night walks back for safety :)

If you're looking for a party hostel this is the place. Best community spirit I've ever experienced at a hostel and I've stayed in a fair few! It's a small hostel but this facilitates their vibrant social atmosphere. Staff are friends with travellers and cost includes dinner, club entry every night and well considered day activities! They even wrote my name on a chalkboard at the entry to welcome me 😭🙏❤️ so sweet!

Definitely one of my favorite hostels! The facilities are very nice and clean (beds have curtains). It’s in a good location where you can walk to different areas or take public transport. The free family dinners are always a plus. There are activities everyday and night which makes it super easy to socialize and meet people! Really great for solo travelers or people looking for a good time in Barcelona! But most of all, the staff is amazing and so welcoming! Shout out to Santi, Dominique, Daniel, and Sean!

Great hostel in the OneFam family. Staff is friendly and personable, offering a lot of great suggestions for things to do around the city. Clean bathrooms and rooms! I was there in later September and it wasn’t too hot but they have little fans you can have in your bed cubicle which I found really nice. Overall great experience here!

Absolutely wonderful for solo travelers. I met at least a dozen people by the second day and we all hung out daily. Establishment was spotless, great location, huge kitchen and staff were so nice and involved. Hats off the Jasmin, she helped us get situated and involved with the rest of the travelers.

Best place to stay in Barcelona. People are very social and polite, this place really attracts the nicest people. The staff is not only helpful but also very committed in making your stay a good experience. A lot of events are arranged together with the other hostels og the same company. 10/10 would recommend. Same goes for the Paralelo one.

Amazing stay with you for the past few days! The staff was amazing and the facility was the cleanest I have seen in Europe so far! German helped us check in and out, provided us a map of the city, answered all of our questions and was a great help. This has been the best hostel I've ever stayed in. It's the perfect balance of relaxation, partying and a family atmosphere. The moment I walked in the door, I was met by Martini and Chung who got me checked in and my vaccine info confirmed. Noticing I had a long travel, they offered to let me sleep before finishing things up when I awoke, which was honestly incredibly appreciated. They have family dinners most nights which are made by the volunteers/staff and are always amazing. I stayed for quite awhile here and therefore got to know the staff quite well. Peter, Lydia, Josephine and Annabel were always incredible to have around and honestly made my stay there. There is not a doubt in my mind that I will stay at Hostel One Ramblas in my travels again. Thank you for making Barcelona more of an enjoyable experience than I could have ever hoped for.

I have a good experience of staying here. This is a comfortable place with great staff. Also location of this hostel is awesome. Near to city center, close to beach and to seaport. If you want to travel to Balearic Islands you can do it by ferry. You just need to walk 5 minutes to port.

If you're looking for a small party hostel near the centre of the city then I'd recommend Hostel One. They organise A LOT of activities so if you want to not have to plan a lot for yourself, then this may be great. The staff were friendly, Chung was a lovely calm presence and introduced everyone by name every time a new visitor arrived. If you're solo travelling you will have no problem meeting people. Peter cooked a great cheese and spinach pasta for a free family dinner. However, personally I found it to be a bit claustrophobic and I did not realise it was so much of a party hostel so if your priority is sleeping well and having modern/ spacious facilities, you should consider a different hostel e.g. Bed and Bike. Nonetheless, we had a pleasant stay and the proximity to Montjuic was great!

One of the best things here is the community and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I came here to Barcelona for the first time and I didn't feel any trouble the staff and the other residents here are very kind and guide us to any queries regarding the tourist places and food. I have enjoyed the time spent there and willing to visit here during my next trip to Barcelona

This hostel has been my favorite one that I’ve stayed at so far. I was staying in Barcelona alone but never felt lonely there. The people there are very friendly and they have activities during the day to bring people together to experience the city, as well as group outings at night. All the staff was incredibly nice and super helpful! Sending a big thanks to Chung who works there who was so friendly and made me feel welcome right away when I got there! The facilities were clean and there were no issues, they have everything you need, and the hostel was in a fantastic location!

This hostel is the best hostel I've stayed in. The location is great, the amenities you get for the price is crazy, the people in this hostel are amazing, and the community feeling is unreal. I only stayed for 3 days but met really good people that I'll stay in contact with for a long time. I want to give shout outs to Dev, Tom, and Kitty, who made sure I had everything I needed and also made sure I had a fantastic time while I stayed here. Though I had to move on with my my trip through Spain and Portugal, staying at this hostel was by far my favorite part of the trip, and honestly I wished I could've stayed longer. When I come back to Barcelona, I definitely will be staying here again.

Nice hostel in a central location. The friendly and motivated staff organizes dinners and events every evening, so it is very easy for solo travelers to meet other people. - But be aware, that it is a party hostel. If you prefer quiet evenings, better look elsewhere.

AMAZING. 11/10. Made some friends for life here. Had a blast going out to the bars/clubs, eating free dinner, joining the free walking tours and beach days, etc. The staff goes above and beyond and will help you with whatever you need. They helped me figure out the metro tickets, get a SIM card, find cheaper food, etc. Chung especially is such a sweet person and is always there for you when you need him! Seriously, can't recommend this place enough ☺️

  • 4/5 Molly P. 1 year ago on Google
Incredibly social hostel, there are drink events every night and the hostel team are really great at hyping up the crowd and providing a good energy. You need to bring your own locks (€2 to buy), and my towel did go missing. Suitable for remote workers if outside of the main drinking hours. Beds are nice with a curtain for privacy. The area can be slightly dodgey depending which way you go, although it is close to a metro and walking distance to beach.

  • 5/5 Paula G. 2 years ago on Google
This is an amazing hostel! Everyone gets greeted and is introduced to everyone, they have amazing (free) activities and super cool staff! It is a party hostel though, so if you are looking for a bit more calmness, you should make sure you are not affected by peer pressure;)

It was first trip to Spain and my first experience to stay in hostel. Totally recommend Hostel One. I loved the place, the atmosphere. The staff are great and the beds and bathrooms are clean and nice. The only suggestion for improvement is that the rooftop terrace could be improved with some plants or lighting

Such an amazing hostel! Perfect for solo travellers wanting to explore the city in the day and go out at night. Incredible place to stay... Maybe the best? Give all staff a raise! Really liked the planned events and dinners, made the experience all very social. Can't understate how much work goes on behind the scenes. Can't believe I have to go home tomorrow. Marta let me check out late which was real nice of her.
