We ordered the sampler for sharing, which came with 2 soups, appetizer & dessert. Strongly recommended. The atmosphere was very nice & quiet. The atmosphere is great. But maybe I was expecting too much, specially after reading some reviews here. When we arrived they turned the glasses on the table over for us, we thought great some table water would be served. But no. They served the complimentary crackers, but no tissues... The food was good, the prawns, however, over cooked and dry. So for that service and food quality and amount it is totally overpriced.

We booked this online with a request to be picked up from our accommodation. Pick up was prompt and staff were very friendly but efficient, upon arrival. The atmosphere was sedate and pleasing. we had cocktails, followed by a main meal. We decided not to have an appetiser so as to be able to enjoy desert and coffee. All were tasty, fresh and at the appropriate temperature. Staff were obviously well trained as they approached and placed plates, glasses, etc.. from the correct side. all this was completed whilst a large (+30) birthday party was also being served - not a problem. At the end of the meal we asked if we could be taken back to the accommodation. This was arranged without and issue. I have no hesitation in recommending others to have a meal here.

Poor ambience. No wonder there were no other guests except us. They served kerupuk with proprietary sambal. No chicken main course in menu. Felt really incomplete. And finally ordered prawn sambal matah. I have been living in Bali for 3 years, sambal matah is one of the best creations of Bali and they didn’t even get that right on this prawn. 2 small shrimps cut in half and put in a salad which felt more like western salad. And the sambal for lumpia felt pathetic. Lost our time. Absolutely disappointed. I hope they will fix the concerns soon.

The food is a bit more "pricey" (but still afforable) than other restaurants but we thought it was worth it for a special night out. Staff is very friendly and professional and serious about hygiene. The entrance is a bit hidden behind double doors but somebody from the restaurant greeted us in the parking area and walked us over.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary here last night and it was great. They picked us up from our hotel and it was complimentary as well as gave us a choc cake desert with happy anniversary writing on the plate. Quite honestly, one of the best meals and dining experiences I’ve ever had. It started with the a complementary pick-up from my hotel by the restaurant (they took me back after dinner too). After that I was treated to top notch service and an incredible duck dish, the likes of which I won’t soon forget. To top it off the prices are very reasonable and the ambiance allows for such a pleasant dining experience. Surprisingly, the restaurant was very quiet, with only a couple other tables being waited on while I was there. This place should be full every single night. But, maybe part of what makes it great is that it isn’t. Can’t recommend Gong enough if you’re in or near Sanur.
