We stayed here for 7 nights, a lovely location & front of house staff friendly & nice, we were due to return in January with our 6 children, but… my complaint is my wife got some fake tan on the bed sheet. We returned to our room one day to find the bed sheets given to us & a bill for $70. We paid the bill without arguing about it. But we expressed our disappointment. We are not returning now in fear our kids mess up the sheets & we are stuck with a $70 bill everyday! When we received this bill we decided to stop tipping staff & spent our money at other hotels. Sometimes people forget to look at the big picture! We will likely book the Maya Resort in January 2023.

The hotel is right by the beach, has plenty of seating on the beach. There are 3 pools. A small gym and we missed the yoga session (we forgot to check with the reception the session time) The staff were friendly and always have a smile for us and a hello. They were very quick with our request - extra favial tissue, drying rack, etc. We stayed in the Deluxe room and we believe these are the renovated rooms. Our room was on the ground floor which was perfect for us. The room is spacious. FYI, there's only one power point on one side of the bed, a bit inconvenient if needed to plug in to charge mobile (ended up unplugging the bedside table for me who slept on the otherside) and fortunately there's reading light on the headboard. The decor is a bit dark but then we didn't spend too much time in the room during daytime. The bathroom is spacious but we found the shower floor a bit slippery. The ground is well maintained and there's an art gallery too. We had breakfast and afternoon tea included in our booking. The breakfast is at Wantilan and buffet style - bakery section, cold section (yogurt, fruit, salad, cheese, cereal, etc), hot food (western and asian), a special indonesian dish (seems to change everyday - bubur ayam, lontong sayur, etc) and egg station. Plenty of seating and wonderful view. The interesting thing was it seems that most of the staff were missing around 7-8am, only had a couple of staff around. There were plenty before then. The rush hour was from 8am onwards. The afternoon tea was from 2-4pm and it was tea/coffee with a plate of 2 kind of sweet treats (creme brulee and a piece of cake). It's also at Wantilan. Overall we enjoyed our stay. Thank you.

My family had a pleasant stay here though it was only 1 night. We got beach wing rooms and they are spacious rooms with a touch of modern balinese style. We had breakfast and dinner in hotel. Foods are excellent. We really love our stay here.

Really nice spot, excellent breakfast and nice rooms with very comfortable beds. The restaurant is nice too and there are plenty of things to do nearby if you get bored of the 3 available swimming pools. Can certainly recommend

A beautiful property but a few minor concerns. We have visited this property several times over the past 3 months and have always been impressed by the location, the gardens and the general decor. The food menu is pleasant without being outstanding. The F&B pricing is about what you would expect from a beach front resort property. I do take exception to the price of wine. A bottle (700 ml) of Two Islands SB retails for about 240K IDR. How do you justify 115k (before 21% tax) on a 100ml serve!!! Ridiculous. I also have concerns in that on the last three occasions staff had stated that the Epos facility is not working. This is on 3 separate occasions over a 3 month period. That insist on cash payment with no receipt. I may be wrong but this seems very suspicious. Well worth a look.

Good hotel with nice beach area. The rooms are luxury but a bit outdated, some minor maintenance issues. Staff is super nice and helpfull. The Beach view restaurant is nice and refurbished however I think the new lounge seats are not practical and the menu can have more (vegetarian) snacks and bites for at the beach or pool area. Overall good hotel to stay with kids in Sanur area.

Known this resort since I was a kid. Had a chance to stay here again and not so much changes. It was a beachfront Balinese resort that located in the heart of Sanur, easy walking distance to shops, restaurants and market stalls. Each room is just footsteps away from a choice of their 3 pools, where I can swim, sunbathe or snooze in the shade. I stay in the Deluxe Garden Wing, room was clean, only a bit out of date, which is reasonable because the resort already running for more than 40 years. Bathroom in great condition with absolutely huge walk in shower, but a bit smelly from running water in the shower. Phone signal and wifi a bit up and down, I guess we just need to relax without our phones πŸ˜‰. Last but not least, their hospitality was great! πŸ‘

We had breakfast included and the food was perfect, every possibility was catered for and the food was so well prepared and very tasty, excellent chefs. Room by the pool, beautifully presented and maintained. Staff were so friendly and attentive would love to return in the future.

Amazing resort. Nice clean rooms. Your bed is made every day and if you leave clothes on your bed by accident they neatly fold them. If you have Murdana at the desk all your worries are taken away. He is the best at his job. My stay at griya santrian was welcomed by him, if i asked him for anything he went and arranged it for me. I got his personal phone number so he could text me later with answers to my question if he didn't know the answer immediately. I hope to come back here and see him thereβ™₯️.

Gardens and pools are nice but parts are really showing their age. Think we just got unlucky with a room that stunk of stale cigarette smoke (in a non smoking room), the wardrobe smelt like someone had died in there and there was black mould in the shower. Not worth the money

Stayed here one week and extended my stay because it was so lovely. Staff is helpful and so kind. Rooms are always clean. Breakfast is good. Restaurant food and drinks are okay but a bit overpriced. Pools and gardens are absolutely beautiful!!! Only complaint is some of the uneducated children who yell and are misbehaved haha but that is not the hotels fault.

Great hotel, wonderful location and fantastic to have several cozy and quiet pools to enjoy. Stayed here with kids aged 1 - 7 and it was GREAT!

Went to this place for new years eve dinner. There was a set menu for 250.000 per person, but as we are vegetarians it was a bit of a disappointment. Also the portion served were rather small, which left me hungry after finishing dinner. Although the service was good, we quickly moved to other restaurants.

This was a perfect get-away! A hidden quiet oasis with just a quick walk down the beach path to be near shops and restaurants. We especially enjoyed riding some bikes from the hotel along the beach path. The beach in front of the hotel was gorgeous (and clean) and the pool a perfect temperature. We were surprised there weren't more people staying there. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer!

Beautifull green hotel, next to the beach. Good location. Nice restaurant and bar in one of the 3 swimming pools. Service is great, Kind staff. Big modern rooms (deluxe room in garden wing)

Avoid the old beach wing rooms to the right of the pool. There is only a bath with a very weak hand shower in it and toilets that should not still be in use. The ground floor units have wooden stairs in them to an upstairs separate unit, which is locked, but is very noisy when guests are using the room. Poolside wait staff and room cleaners are very polite and helpful, but reception and management staff are often less than enthusiastic and don’t go out of their way to be helpful. Generally some of the poorest customer service we’ve ever received in Bali. The location and pool sells it, along with very solid and well priced food options. If only more of the staff knew how much a smile and a great attitude makes all the difference!

My daughter and I just spent 8 nights at the Griya for the first time (6th time in Sanur). This hotel was above my usual budget but it was a special occasion. I don't usually leave reviews but our experience was very mixed which I thought I would share. CONS: on arrival we were given a Garden view room (which I had booked). The room was fine, however the bathroom terrible, old bathtub, flimsy shower curtain, cracked tiles, really run down, nothing like shown on the website. Extremely disappointing! On the upside when I expressed my disappointment the next day our concerns were noted and we were given a room with a renovated bathroom 2 days later. Reception staff were very good dealing with this. Our first evening meal at the hotel was a disappointment, waited almost 20 mins (we were the only guests @8pm) for drinks, food was served before drinks arrived. Thai beef salad (mushy) and Nasi Goreng (bland) an absolute disaster. Really? How can you get that wrong?! So our first night was not pleasant and we were ready to move to a different hotel. But..... Once we moved rooms and had our meals elsewhere everything was fine, breakfast was good, not a lot to choose from, nothing to brag about but enough for us. During our stay the main pool went green and was closed for 2 days. Again disappointing. Drinks are overpriced re quantity and quality. PROS: it is a lovely resort, quiet, gardens are lovely and well looked after, staff very friendly and attentive, room service great, very clean. Generally a good vibe overall. Would I stay there again? Honestly ? after giving it some thought, I would love to, but sorry Griya... no, not for that price and the let downs. There are so many other lovely hotels that offer more and better for less $$.

We stayed here in the Hotel Griya Santria for three days. The trip from the airport Denpasar to the hotel took nearly 35minutes and was about 25€ with a private shuttle booked at the airport. In the hotel we were warm welcomed by the reception and got a welcome drink free of charge. A free upgrade brought us the room 101 next to the pool and sea side, but we changed after one day, as it was an old fashioned room very dark without light and it smelled a bit strange. Without a lot of words we got another room (303) which was placed deeper in the hotel area - much more modern, cleaner and with more light. The breakfast is good, the price in the restaurant and bar ok (~3€/bottle). Location of the hotel is awesome - directly next to the sea and the three pools are nice. (2 pools are quite ones really for relaxing, the third next to the sea is more noisy with music and the bar). All the stuff we met was super friendly and smiling. We would come here again!

Pleasantly surprised. Location is good for a relaxed holiday. Close to many many varied restaurants and of course the beach. Service was always with a smile. 3 pools, each with their own character. Suitable for couples and families.

Beautiful gardens and swimming pools. Lounging and seating areas are great. Quiet place on the beach. Great message too!

Comfortable seaside hotel with magnificent view. Suitable for sunbathing and beach activities without going anywhere. Breakfast selection could be better with additional variants.

Beautiful peaceful resort. Great pool and bar. Stunning grounds and amazing beachfront view. The beach wing is old and needs some work, particularly on the stairs. Wifi was often patchy. But we still overall had a great time here.

As everyone has said before, some of the rooms are a little old and dated. Shower baths in our room was tough to handle being quite tall. Position of Hotel is the best though. Close to some awesome restaurants, right in the beach front, short walk to markets, shops and other activities. Hotel drinks and food well priced and has a swim up bar overlooking the beach with heaps of sun lounges to soak up the rays in. Will be back for sure.

We were having coffee here in the afternoon. Place was busy and packed, well its also Saturday night. Food was okay but they need to add more staff outside at the deck. It takes forever to make them coming to the table.

So far a good stay. Though the room and service is only a little over average. The bathroom needs some work, but nothing major. The location, beach and pools are fantastic!

It was nice for relaxing , just walk by to the beach. Has kano facility from hotel. Breakfast was fine. Good and nice staff. The room interior just regular. AC was great. Not really much tourist local in this area when we stay on april 2022. Must try their fried noodleπŸ‘

Beautiful resort, have stayed many times. Service is outstanding and the staff go above and beyond to assist. The three pools are amazing and grounds are beautifully kept. Improvements can be made by pre reading guest preferences in booking details, modern upgrades to the rooms such as more PowerPoints and reading lamps, new towels and lounges as there are a few which are in need of a replacement. Breakfast is great but pre Covid there was greater variety. Guests should do their part in keeping it such a nice place to holiday such as by obeying the rules such as no smoking, no jumping/diving in pools rules and not claiming sun loungers whilst being away from the pool.

Loved the hotel. Rooms where spacious and clean.Pool with swim up bar was great. Only let down was the breakfast buffet. Not a great variety, but had everything you needed.

they gave pleasant hospitality. We love the whole resort environment and ambience. They really make efforts to clean up the areas and beach. Thumb up But the downside is the room facilities that they should upgrade little.

Nice place. Some of the garden rooms aren't so good but the newer ones and those towards the beach are fine. We had a room on the first floor near the small gym, the views were lovely as you can see over the trees etc. Restaurant food was very well done - the several meals we had were cooked exactly as they should be; with the exception of breakfast, which does need some more effort and variety. Don't get me wrong, the staff were lovely, it's just a bit basic &, for example, the nasi & mie goring were a bit too oily & they used margarine for the egg station, which isn't really that nice for frying. Access to the beach is excellent and you there's a foot/cycle path that stretches for several miles with lots of cafes etc along it, plus the views are lovely, looking across towards nusa penida. Highly recommended

The hotel is realy nice, and if you want update room, you must to pay just 15 euro...not match...the room are big, and every room have balcony. What is not nice, is....that you have brekfast Buffet and is not included expresso or capucino. Maybee they must to learn, that...if someone no like balize caffe, they must du give alternative caffe...becouse is not weiter there that you must to like balineze coffe.
