We were in Bali around the same time last year (September of 2019) with our folks and were staying at the Hyatt Regency at Sanur. We discovered this place on the second night of our 7-night stay there, after a pretty unpleasant experience at the other Indian restaurant, bang opposite Ganesha's by the name of Gateway of India (more about them sometime later, but these guys are in a different league compared to them and in the same price range). We ended up dining there thrice during our stay there and were pleasantly surprised every time. The ambiance of the restaurant is excellent, though not air conditioned, the place was cool courtesy the water-bodies inside the restaurant and the fact that everything is quite spaced out. The highlights of this place however were the: -- Food: some of the best Indian food we've ever had (including what we've had in India) - the taste was excellent without being too greasy or heavy and the portions & presentation were really good too. -- Service: exceptionally pleasant & warm service extended by Caroline & her team (we also met two of their chefs from India) and they were all a pleasure to deal with. in fact on one evening, when they had a classical Balinese dance performance, they got the performers to come and have photographs clicked with my dad-in-law, who was absolutely overjoyed - these small things can make all the difference :) All-in-all, we loved Ganesha and while we only tried their Sanur outlet, am assuming their other restaurants would be living-up to similarly high-standards

The meat was tender and cooked to perfection. The vegetarian dishes tasted like we get back home. Again good taste, quality and quntity was super.

What an amazing place to find great Indian food. The chef and few staff members are Indians that makes it easy to understand, and the taste is really authentic Indian, they serve both south and north indian menu and have separate seating for veg and nonveg. The place is clean and staff are super friendly. Good clean washroom as well. The place is mostly visited by Indian tourists and it stands as refuge for those carving for home food while exploring the beautiful Bali. They have 3 branches spread in Bali so fooding becomes easy. One may find it but pricey, but it's worth it.

The worst service of any restaurant I have ever been to, you have to walk to the rear of the restaurant to find a waiter to ask for drinks, cutlety or napkins, even when they try to deliver mains the entree dishes are still there and the head waiter has to call staff who have walked past 50 times and ignored you to clear the table. Most patrons walking up to ask for everything whilst the staff chat away looking at you whilst ignoring you. A shame as food was good but experience ruined by the worst service ever. Something wrong here as they didn't even clean the bar just stacked up empty bottles an glasses.

Being a vegan and opted for Jain food, they were understanding and extremely accommodating. My lamb roganjosh was not as spicy as what I remember roganjosh used to be in Singapore. Thosai however is thin & crusty, me like! Overall great place, price point is rather steep though.
