This is the place to be when you want to enjoy hanging around retired, semi-drunk, loud speaking Australians who play ukelele and music around the pool. They act like they own the place. Furthermore, in the middle of the night (00.30) a bus’s load of tourists arrived while making a lot of noise as well. That’s also how we discovered that the rooms are not only outdated (broken tiles, worn ceiling plating and even woodworm in the painting frames on the wall) but also very noisy. One could literally enjoy the conversations in the other room. The pool was slippery due to algae, And could use some thorough cleaning. Additionally, the receptionist seems to give attention rather to the other guests which have been coming for ages instead of explaining where the breakfast is served or what the WiFi-code is. Other staff (e.g. at the restaurant) is polite and helpful, but by no means able to manage the place. The gardens looked nice though, but the place needs a make-over to lift it into this century. Would not recommend going here.

This has been a favourite place to stay in Bali for me for many years. Reasonably priced - often including breakfast. Staff are super friendly and helpful. Unfortunately on this last trip the "transport" drivers located at the venue were grumpy and not particularly endearing but I don't judge the venue any less because of it. Only a short walk to the main street and beach

Form the moment you arrive you are met with a broad tiled comfortable reception and lovely staff. Suggest booking the rooms ground level poolside if you can; you'll have semi secluded views with blooming vegetation and you won't have to do the stairs. Staff will greet you with a cool drink and carry your gear on a trolley (don't forget to tip the guy😉). If anything like ours the large room will have a large TV (somewhat grainy but loads channels - that don't match the printed menu), fridge, large wet room with given toiletries, tea & coffee. The aircon is *very* good. Freeze if you want but we kept ours at 21deg. The wifi in our room was just excellent. Get lost in the huge king bed with fly screens if you want them. Put your bags on the stand. Reception phones. Besides lights & power points. So many lovely rooms to choose from surrounded by shrubs and trees. Avail yourself of the large dining area, or a lounge area where you can peruse the bookshelf and order a drink. Time will drift by beautifully in Bumi Ayu.

Rooms are dated and tired and in dire need of refurbishment. There is only one power socket in the whole room which is shared between the TV and fridge. No glasses, no pool towels, no bottle opener etc. Just really basic with regards to facilities and amenities. The pool area is also in need of some work and maintenance. And note that the pool closes really early at 7pm The cleanliness was also very questionable. We found used ear buds on the floor next to our bed from the previous user, and dried urine stains all over the toilet, which is absolutely unacceptable. We should not have to clean our own bathroom before we dare to use it in any hotel, let alone one of this price. The breakfast was pretty disappointing. Stay away from the Western breakfasts would be our advice they are very disappointing, or skip getting the breakfast included option altogether and go for breakfast at one of the many local restaurants. The location is the best thing about this hotel. Near to most local points of interest, including beach and night market and many restaurants.

Currently spending Christmas at Bumi Ayu and loving it. Centrally located with an easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Clean rooms with good air con, a nice pool with a good amount of sunlounges. Staff are awesome, very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay here again.

We really loved our stay at Bumi Ayu. Service was exceptional. Pool was super nice. Breackfast was very good. Would definetly return. Only point is that sanur is strangely configure as a city. Its kind of strange how to reach the beach.

We love the Bumi Ayu Bungalows and would always consider this hotel first when staying in Sanur. It’s a fantastic place to make new friends and the staff are very friendly and helpful.

We have been unsatisfied by the initial assigned room, not clean, pillows cases not changed, dark, bathroom very basic. We asked to change and it was possible. The second one was not more clean, bin not emptied, hair in the shower, and not sure about pillows’ cases. One more time we asked to change, this time we have had an higher room, not clean as well with hair and hairs around the bath. As it was the best, we kept it but yet happy at 100% Obviously, personal did their best during this experience to find a solution. We appreciate the service and the location. Restaurant is standard but not to bad.

We loved this traditional accomodation with the lush garden paths and decent sized pool. Lovely breakfasts and friendly helpful staff. Great central location near some wonderful back street restaurants. Will stay again when in Sanur

We all judge. That's human. But we get awed by misjudgements. I was awed. Loved this accoms. Truth be told, if you are looking for trendy chic and all that jazz, this ain't it. But if you are looking for a peaceful retreat that is basic yest functional, this has got to be one of the places you should strongly consider. Nothing about this place is pretentious. This this hotel is all about peace serenity and service with a big wide smile. Whilst the rooms are basic and the breakfast too one cannot take away the beauty and tranquil of this location. Tucked slightly away from a main road this hotel boasts endless greens and promotes rustic living. Everything works and I have no complaints. The pool is ever so welcoming. Priced very reasonably this hotel can be set as a home away from home. I have never been to Sanur before and was looking for similar establishments but I'm glad I found this one. Not too far from the main road where Starbucks and other luxuries are around this hotel should be listed as your next getaway location. The Bali vibes here are strong and very welcoming.

This was the ideal place to start our Bali holiday. The poolside bungalows were very clean and comfortable, exactly as described. The staff were always friendly and smiling. It was a short walk to nearby bars and restaurants, and 2 blocks from the beach. We would definitely come again.

The Bumi Ayu hotel is situated not very far from the Sanur beach. You can even walk to the beach from this hotel. The location is a bit away from the main road, while the beach is on the other side of the road. There are many supermarkets and plenty of good restaurants around the area where you can have almost all kinds of cuisine. The shopping experience is also good around the area as there are many different local shops offering hand crafts for sale.

Nice little place with lovely staff, nice pool and great restaurant breakfast (not included in our booking). The room was spacious and just a couple of minutes' walk to the main road, a great option and highly recommended!

It was very quiet when we stayed at the Bumi Ayu so it may be different in high season but we found the place old-world and charming. Though the decor and style is old Balinese the whole resort is clean and well maintained. Staff are very friendly and the price is very reasonable.

Although the hotel is old, the rooms and gardens are well maintained. The atmosphere is very calm and relaxing since it is not on the main street.

This hotel/bungalows is in a quiet location, away from main road noise, yet only a short walk to many shops and restaurants. We enjoyed every day of our 6 days stay there. I can also recommend using Wayan's transport services!
