    - The room was obviously not in a good shape. There were stains on the coverlet, the pillowcases had holes and were definitely old. The bathroom was the worst. First of all there was a really unpleasant smell, coming from the bathroom and wandering to the bedroom later on. The faucet was so loose that you had the feeling it would break off when using it. The toilet was also not clean and some insects were on/in it as well. The lamp above the mirror was also loose and pretty low hanging so you could see the dirt that has been sitting there already for a while. We arrived around 9 pm and the restaurant was already close and so was the bar. Unfortunately the mini bar wasn’t filled either. This overall impression made us leave after the very first night. Neither the hotel nor booking were willing to make any monetary concessions regarding the early departure - although there were obvious shortcomings. + Staff was very friendly. Overall we are aware of Hotels in Bali being closed for a long time but when reopening at least the rooms should be clean!

The room is clean, sheets and towels are clean ! The receptionist kindly moved me to the first floor where the there’s bathtub in the partly open-sky bathroom (thank you so much!) On the first day, we were able to eat breakfast from the restaurant, the porridge is wow (the shredded chicken topping is one we’ve never tasted before! It’s crispy!). However, the last 2 days we were only provided in-room breakfast (only croissant and egg, but the croissant is really good though). So i suggest you dont book any hotels or villas with breakfast because they charge in full but with limited or no option at all. One thing that we think can be improved is the lighting because it is wayyy too dark regarding the design.. we like dim lights, but it’s wayy too dimmed we’re having trouble to find clothes in our luggage. Overall, it’s a GREAT budget hotel with a nice and comfortable room. Totally recommend this.

Great hotel with excellent service. The room was spacious and well designed, the ambience is good and peaceful. The price is very affordable. But the amenities is very limited and the sheet and towels is mostly broken. The need to change all the sheet and towels because its not in the good condition

This is an amazing hotel for the price. It's situated is a perfect location very close to the beach and the staff and facilities are excellent. The outdoor bathroom with a huge bathtub was great. We really enjoyed our stay here and will come back soon. 5*

Lovely welcoming hotel in the pretty streets of South Sanur. Gorgeous pool, the pool access room is well worth the little extra. Good choice of breakfast. Cold drinks. Street outlook dining. Close to beach. Warm friendly staff. Would recommend.

Stayed here for two nights and the staffs were wonderful. The receptionist, the hotel manager, the restaurant manager, and all the staffs are very friendly. Best value for money. Located within walking distance to the beach. They have designated area on the beach side with staff appointed there, but unfortunately I didnt have the chance to try it. Will definitely stay here again for the next visit. Thank you, Akana! ♥️

A BOUTIQUE HOTEL! Not many rooms (only 36) in here, only several like a boutique hotel. It has a great location in sanur; about 3 minutes to the beach and 10 more to get to the water sports. The service is more than excellent and because the hotel is so compact, everything is basically less than a one minute journey The rooms are from natural interior like stone and granite tile, efficient with the space (i stay 2 night on superiror with 28sqm and deluxe with 30sqm). The view from the window direct to pool on center of hotel and it's relatively quiet. The amenities of my room like AC, 40" LED, Hot & Cold Shower, Kettle with Coffe and Tea, Safe Deposit Box (SDB) Plus; They have free of charge bicycle to surrounding sanur beach Minus; The only comment that i really have is the small parking space and the lack of shade for cars parking there

We stayed at three hotels during our trip to Bali, but this was our favourite. It was hard to fault! Alvin's communication leading up to our stay was great, the room and pool area beautiful (there were always heaps of free sun loungers). The partial outside bath was a highlight, so relaxing. There were plenty of breakfast options on the menu and it was a good sized meal. There were also many good restaurants and spas close by. Highly recommended.

We visited this hotel in March 2022. Apparently like many hotels, pandemic affected this place so hard and they are trying to stand up hardly. It feels from how they wanted to give the best services they can. We were booked to make our morning trip in Sanur port effective, so we couldn't have their breakfast time. Surprisingly, they offer us takeaway breakfast! And they gave us just before our schedule, an hour earlier before their regular breakfast time. The meals are humble, but not bad. So, the staffs are helpful & kind. The room was clean & facilities run very well. Unfortunately, our balcony is covered by iron fence just like in prison. Maybe it's more for the decoration from outside, but better to change it into regular balcony. So it can be helpful for any urgent situation. The swimming pool are clean, apparently they cleaned it every day. Maybe because we stayed during low season during the pandemic, the electricity for higher floors were shut down. Make it a little bit spooky, but it was okay tough.

Very thankful to this crew and hotel for a great week we spend here. The hotel is very fresh, which is rare in this area. You have choice of breakfast. Rooms are comfortable and always clean! They have private area at the beach, which is great with small kids! Will be happy to come back! 😊

First time staying at this hotel, and it is fabulous. Staff are friendly, and service is excellent—a lovely small boutique hotel with 36 rooms, also at an affordable price range. The room is spacious with a minimalist design. They have a turn-down service which is honestly nice to have. The room is equipped with individual wifi routers, a tremendous extra service which is not typical. They too have a free bicycle service available, a necessary one for guests to explore the local areas. Overall, this is one hotel that stood out among it's peers. I definitely would return and you should try too.

Very good value for money. Got a bath and big bathroom(there will be mosquitos though) cheaper than my previous hotel and offer more things. I will recommend this place to my friends.

Very wonderful place, have a such a wonderful vibe and ambiance. Brings a very wonderful memories. This is very much my type of place to stay, located in a very strategic location in a center of Sanur, you could just walk a few blocks to Sanur beach, it’s really close. The service is also very nice too. Would definitely love to come again and stay at Akana Boutique Hotel if I ever visited Sanur in the future. There’s a few note though: - would be great if you clean the room regularly, without being asked first - pls do remember to always refill the water bottle, we need fresh water to drink (and tap water in Bali is not that great) - it would be very nice if you at least gave us some shampoo or toothpaste Overview: 100/100 definitely would come back!🥰

Buyer beware: clean room, bad wifi, terrible sales staff Edit to address the response: it doesn’t really matter if the sales staff is their own or someone else’s as it’s the hotel that determines how to do their sales. And the wifi issue was a real issue I experienced, you can tell it’s not one router per room since the router has a room number attached. A good building marred by bad staff, unfortunately. I did not have the experience that I was hoping for. The only positive staff experience I had was with a woman at the front desk who initially checked me in. The check in experience was lacking: I was handed my key and that's it – no direction to the room, no showing me the room and features, no help with 6 pieces of luggage, no hand-off of obviously important information like the wifi password, and no opportunity to ask for any extras like the ironing board. I didn't put too much thought into this part though, I liked the room and eventually things got sorted out after a few trips back to the front desk. The rooms were at least clean so I tried to extend my booking which was done on Airbnb. I could see the listing was not booked for the next two weeks so I wanted to book the 2 weeks. The staff tried to get me to move the conversation off Airbnb to WhatsApp so they could give me "the best price". It's against Airbnb policy for good reasons to take customers off Airbnb for booking modifications – it's shady and customer hostile. Without responding they denied the booking alteration on Airbnb. So I sought out other accommodations. The next morning, an hour before check out, they tried to ask me again to sort out the booking, as if I didn't obviously need to find somewhere else to stay at that point. It's a pretty frustrating run around. Unfortunately some places are trying to make a quick buck right now. Besides that, the room was clean. The wifi was lacking as there’s a few shared routers so some rooms get terrible reception and drop the connection every minute or so.

Awesome staff, safe secure small hotel. Breakfast was fantastic sitting out every morning on the deck. Well managed property with attention to detail. We stayed in 304 with pool view. Staff were amazing to my young girl. Highly recommend

This is the best 4 star hotel in Sanur. The rooms are perfect and bathroom with rain shower head. Even the toilet is perfect with the inbuilt spray.

Fabulous little boutique hotel located 300m walk to the beach front and surrounded by some of the areas best warungs and restaurants. The team were all so lovely and dedicated to ensuring the stay was wonderful. Recommend the pool access rooms.

Was needing a quick pick me up coffee ☕️ thought this place would be good as it was almost full. We were wrong 🚫. Coffee was simply not good. In fact, it was the same perculated stuff that the hotel guests were drinking. Charged us $3.50 per cup for powdered coffee in luke warm water 😒

We’re loving our 2 week stay here. Staff are super-friendly, greeting you every time they see you with a smile. Asking how we slept, how was the room, how was the meals, our day…. They make up the room in the morning and come back to remove any garbage and do a turn down service every night. Our room is on the second floor with a view of the pool and garden, which is quiet and peaceful. The air conditioning, which is so required in 30+ humid weather, is quiet and work perfectly. The room is well designed, the bathroom has a glass shower, the toilet a bidet, and the balcony a small sofa and drying rack for bathing suits and for us, towels to be sustainable, not changing everyday. There is a stocked fridge with drinks you can pay for and two bottles of water are left every morning. The TV plays HBO in English and other international channels and languages. There are international power plugs- one in the bathroom and one under the tv. Hair dryers are given on request. There is a big closet with hangers and a safe. A desk/work area with your own room WiFi and password. It never failed during , surfing, chatting or video calls.. Black out curtains if you want to sleep in and shear black curtains if you want the light but also privacy. Slide open both curtains and the two big patio doors and you’re standing on your private balcony overlooking the pool. We were just talking with people at the pool, one is a travel agent researching Bali hotels, and he said this is one of the best he’s stayed in after staying at 4 others. The restaurant serves Indonesian as well as western food and has happy hour all week, Thursday all you can eat BBQ with entertainment, and great drinks and cappuccino coffee. Location is perfect, not on the noisy main street but a 2 min walk around the corner from all the action. Trustworthy money exchange next door. 10 min walk to the beach and the hotel has beach loungers and umbrellas reserved. No cost, just give your name and room number. This is s sanctuary to all travelers or remote workers.

Nothing to fault with the staff, they are great and probably better trained than many I've met in Bali and I'm a frequent traveller to this island (3-4 X a year) the rooms need updating and maybe a fresh coat of paint with better lighting. Clean but you can tell it's seen better days. My room 212 was also facing the road and noisy, you could hear every bike, car and human chatting. Not sound proof clearly. Very dim lighting for some reason even in the washroom but not in a good way. The pool looked nice but I didn't use it.

this was a really great place to stay in Sanur, it was quiet and in a great location close to many things, the beach, restaurants and more. The staff was extremely polite and friendly, the room was exactly as expected and housekeeping was done daily. Would highly recommend

Nice area, smooth check-in and kind staff. Room and bed was comfortable. AC worked great. Shower was hot and had good pressure. My view faced the street, so nothing impressive. Was not noisy. I only stayed one night, so I didn’t use the amenities but enjoyed the pool views. Breakfast was overall good, but pastries and potatoes were not fresh and you could taste it.

Very convinient rooms | functional | modern and stylish| very friendly staff | good food - only one recommendation: stop serving the old fashioned style Coffee.....and Do not charge for cappuccino etc. for breakfast.

I am a huge fan of this little hotel! Staff is adorable, the rooms are very good, the beds are great, the price is very reasonable and the location is good . Couldn't find anything negative!!

  • 5/5 Anmol Gaurav M. 1 year ago on Google
Everything was absolutely amazing! The room was very comfortable, staff was very friendly and the hotel had great facilities such as restaurants in walking distance, pool, private area for hotel customers on Sanur beach. The pool view room was great and gave a true rainforest vibe! The only improvements that we could recommend are buffet breakfast and spa services. Adding these two will make Akana Hotel just like any other 5-start hotel.

Great value hotel. The rooms were lovely with a really nice bathroom. The pool area was lovely and well landscaped. The staff were amazing and attentive. Nothing was a problem for them. The variety of the included breakfast was excellent. The location is great and not far to walk to the beach. We loved our stay at Akana Boutique Hotel and will definitely be back again.

Hotel room was spacious, clean and CHSE certified. Room with balcony facing to the pool is an advantage though the pool not so big. As a boutique hotel this is good enough. Wi-Fi is fast so I can do my online meeting and paperwork here during my business trip. Location is great, near to the beach and local store. They served breakfast with american style, while for Indonesian style you must order 1 day before.

All of the staffs are friendly. The room that we stayed was pretty humid and it was dark though with all lights on in the day, impossible to do work from your own room. But I had to compliment the bathroom, awesome~ During our stay our room didnt have “personalised” wifi so we had to connect to other room’s wifi or their restaurant. Breakfast was so so, but service is friendly. However, the staffs were noisy, they chit chat and giggled quite loud. It cause disturbance to me since I cant work from my own room and had to resort to work at their restaurant, yet with such environment.

The property is beautiful. It is very centrally located. The rooms are very huge and spacious. The swimming pool area was right outside our room.! The Staff is very helpful. They even made Jain Indonesian breakfast for us on request, which was delicious!

I wouldn’t come back. The employees are great but my room smelled like sewage. I read this in some reviews but I imagined that they would have fixed it by now. That was the second room I stayed at, which I got after paying extra £32 because it was an ‘upgrade’ from the first room in which I couldn’t sleep because it was just noisy as it is right under the AC machine for the entire building. Definitely a NO GO.

Overall it's a very nice experience. All the staffs are very friendly. They have various breakfast menu and all delicious. Located strategically in Sanur near cafes and resto, gym, etc. The hotel's vibe very calming and relaxing. I stayed for 5 nights and too bad they didn't change the towels even once per two days and they don't add bathroom amenities more.

We loved our time at the Akana, staying in one of the ground floor rooms by the pool. The room was perfect, everything was spotless, and all the staff were incredibly cheerful, friendly and helpful. The beautiful pool always seemed to stay cool - with the aircon in the rooms, and the planting in the open bathroom it was a lovely space to stay in (temperature control can be important for some from cooler climes :-) ). The beach is a short walk away - the Akana has a spot there. Salada was superb, breakfast was delicious (my daughter still reminisces about the french toast) - there’s also a wide variety of really good places to eat within walking distance.
