The villa has a sort of rustic feel so it didn't really mattered to us that it was a little outdated. However, the cups and water boilers were very dirty - some dried up dirt on the inside which could be scrapped off using a spoon. We didn't touch the cups or boiler. The outdoor shower water pressure was low, so showering took a little while more. What we liked was that the villa was very near Sanur beach (3 mins walk) and the staff were super friendly. The bed and pillows were really comfortable. The staff had put together decorations to welcome us for our wedding anniversary as well.

Loved, loved, loved our stay. Villa's had everything you need for an amazing holiday, bed and pillows super comfy, separate dressing room for luggage, separate bathroom with super large bath and fabulous outdoor shower. The pool was a great size and so refreshing. Only 50m to the beach, lots of great restaurants in close walking distance, very yummy breakfast. Will definitely book again.

Very spacious Villa. We stayed in a two room villa though was beside the side road but couldn’t hear much traffic. Excellent location for food and walking distance to Sanur Port.

We had a 4 night stay in a 2 bedroom villa with private pool. Beautiful setup with both rooms having ensuites and outdoor showers that felt luxurious and exotic. Super spacious rooms and facilities PLUS a covered outdoor dining and living area (staff brought and lit mosquito coils for us) two sun beds under a gazebo next to the private pool and a second set of sun beds under a tree. Lovely staff and a choice of breakfasts that were all generous in size and complimentary on the package we chose. Excellent location with only a couple minute walk to the beach and a load of shops and eating areas. It’s in the higher range for price, but as with almost all things in Bali, you get so much for your dollar.

I can see this was a nice villa at one point, but they didn't keep up maintaining it. Our unit was ready for us but things were not properly set. Housekeeping can do a better job refilling used toiletries. Location is nice, super close to the beach. Food is average, not a fan of their ordering system.

This hotel was amazing! We really enjoyed the villa with a private pool. The water in the pool was refreshing and clean. We had a choice between Western, Japanese, and Indonesian breakfast, which was brought to our villa each morning. It was delicious! Each night, housekeeping fogged the room for mosquitoes and lit coils in the outdoor living space. We enjoyed having a place to hang out inside the villa as well. They have a cozy reading nook, which can also double as a bed for a child. The outdoor shower was truly an experience, especially at night with the lights on. There were two AC units, so we never got hot. This place was awesome! We will definitely be back.

We stayed 2 nights in 2 room villa. 1. The breakfast was bad. Coffee was tasteless, the bread was hard. 2. The villa was hardly cleaned when we were shown the villa. It was clear that no one swept the compound and picked up the flowers and leaves from the pool. 3. The rooms are old, the toilet bowl flush broke and the power tripped when i tried to boil the kettle 4. There was mold in the bathroom and cobwebs in the bedroom ceiling. For the kind of money we had paid, it is a rip off

Villa Mahapala is an excellent place to stay while in the Sanur area of Bali. Excellent villas with a very private pool. The staff are brilliant and very professional and courteous. The resort is just a few meters away from the beach and many, many dining options.

1 star only cz there is no option for zero! Booked on 10th Jan for our last day at leisure of honeymoon. Leisure? It was a stress booking this property thinking we would enjoy private pool and all. They are fraud, thief and moreover big liars. We were told to wait for an hour and it took them 3 hours to finally let us check-in cz our villa had some geyser problem and meanwhile during our check-in time, they were fixing it. Keeping us busy in useless talks and wasting our time. When we told we need to get ready for our tour, these clever people let us into the villa saying it's fixed. We cancelled our tour cz rherw was no time left and gone for some shopping nearby. When we came back we saw all our luggage lying open and doors were open and there was a person inside fixing geyser. He entered our villa without our consent and we were not prepared for it, what if there were precious items or cash lying open. They violated our privacy and to our shock, they even asked us to leave at around 7pm for full refund. They even asked to call police since they were not afraid of anybody. After all the arguments, they asked us to go back to villa and promised a full refund and we need to contact Agoda if we don't receive it in a week. We contacted Agoda and this property clearly denied any refund. They are big time cheaters and fraud. This property is not at all safe. Don't waste your time and money and specially don't spoil your trip cz people go on trip for leisure but due to such properties and people, they need to go through stress and spoilt mood.

Fantastic location, walking distance to everything we needed. Breakfast was fresh and delicious. An excellent start to each day. Beds were comfortable, rooms and bathrooms huge. Our 2 bed villa was perfect for our family of 4.

Very nice hotel with great 2-person villas. Breakfast served every morning at your villa. Cleaning and room service really good. Private pool a treat. Good restaurants close by, especially the Byrd House. All in all, a comfortable and pleasant stay.

DO NOT STAY HERE IT IS UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN, FILTHY, COCKROACHES, BEACH IS FULL OF GARBAGE. Liked · on the surface, the resort 'looks' gorgeous, but after spending an hour or so there you realize its a façade. Disliked · -COCKROACHES IN THE SHOWER. I reported this the first day and my pleads to the staff to address the issue were ignored. we would have checked out much sooner but I was hit with food poisoning and was literally so ill for 3 days I couldn't leave the resort. when I was feeling well enough to hit the shower again- my old friends the cockroaches were still there. - the villa design is TOTALLY UNSAFE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN. the rooms are not connected and you have to walk along the edge of the pool to get from one room to another. there are multiple direct doorways from the kids room that open OVER THE POOL. I slept terribly there with anxiety of what might happen if my kids accidentally fell into the pool at night if they were trying to get to us. -This resort is FILTHY. thick layers of dust and mildew on everything in the villa. the shutters are all in disrepair and difficult to open and close, one pair fell on my head when I was trying to get them open. Aside from the filthiness of the rooms, the outside portion of your villa is also filthy- so much debris from the trees falling at all times, piles of sand in the dining area when we arrived, bugs everywhere. -the food was abysmal. menu looks good but execution fell flat. -the surrounding neighborhood is a dump with giant holes in the sidewalks and people constantly soliciting us. -the nearby beach was SO DISAPPOINTING. unfathomable levels of garbage on the beach and in the water. my daughter was so sad and disgusted that she couldn't go swimming. -POOL IS NOT HEATED AND IS FREEZING COLD. even my 4 and 6 year old kids who live for swimming refused to go in the pool because it was so cold and uncomfortable. - this is the WORST RESORT I HAVE EVER STAYED AT. I ended my stay early which I have never done before because it was so bad.

Our stay at Villa Mahapala was excellent from start to finish. The staff were friendly and tentative to our needs. The rooms were clean and spacious and with comfortable beds. The pool itself was great to have a dip anytime also the main pool was great . The location is central to everything- no need for taxis with the beautiful beach of Sanur being metres away. Restaurants, Warungs and cafes along the beach are very reasonably priced and offer all types of food with a relaxing atmosphere. One of the things we enjoyed was grabbing some bycycles from the Villa and going for a ride along the boardwalk . I highly recommend Villa Mahapala for a relaxing break.

We loved our stay here. Its the best hotel we have stayed in Bali and 2 others were 5 star. The Villa was lovely, room was clean and well equipped the outdoor courtyard and pool were so private and quiet. There is also a large communal swimming pool and this is also very quiet. You get a good choice of breakfast delivered to your villa. The location is 2 minutes walk to the promenade and beach and close to some lovely bars and restaurants. All the staff are so friendly and helpful and you can use complimentary bikes to whizz along promenade. Great place to stay in Sanur.

The service was outstanding. The staff was very friendly, and Villa was larger than we thought it would be. Our breakfast was delivered to the Villa each morning, which was outstanding. The only improvement we would like to see is to serve long coffee for breakfast We will definitely be back.

Villa Mahapala is a fantastic escape on eastern Bali. My wife and I stayed here in Nov 2022. The staff were professional and very eager to please. The villas are very pretty and clean. The plunge pool and outdoor shower were both quite enjoyable. The value of this private villa resort is very high. We would both return in the future.

This villa is located very close to the beach. Villa size is very generous and breakfast is wonderfully prepared for consumption at your comfort inside the villa. They can use a little renovation to update with today's needs, such as USB plugs and for electric plugs to be located more conveniently above desks/tables, instead of at lower part of the wall. I completely recommend for people who want to have a villa by a calm beach, and not with high waves. You can do plenty of water activities in the sea.

We stayed in the Villa with pool. Was beautiful, well decorated and spacious with the pool you can jump in from your villa. Great breakfast and good service. 3 minute walk to the beach and short walk to the main street with good amount of shops.
