Great atmosphere, but the food was just not it. Got three things. Beef quesadillas: 7.5/10 Baja Fish Tacos: 2/10 (unflavoured/ unseasoned batter. It was almost too hard of a crust and there was 0 flavour to the fish. My three friends got it and we all didn’t enjoy it). It was not a good fish taco unfortunately. Churros: 2/10 there was not enough cinnamon and barely any sugar. It was definitely dense and over fried. It was like a thick biscuit and not a fluffy churro. I would not recommend it either. The hot sauces on the table were delicious but that was the highlight for me. If you’re looking for an authentic Mexican taste, I personally wouldn’t suggest this one. Amazing staff, lovely environment. But everything else was mostly a flop. The quesadillas were good though.

Great food, be prepared for spicy! The cocktails are a bit watered out, but other than that the place is great. The service is excellent, everyone is so kind!

Exceptionally well run restaurant. A group of 9 of us went to enjoy and nice meal paired with a top of the line cocktail. The table decided to go with a 3 nachos to share for starters which came with every fresh dip you can think of. Main course was the tacos. Table ordered 9 total so everyone got one of each. Hard to say which was the best as they were superb. Paired my tacos with a perfect but not to sweet Pina colada. Great dinner spot and would recommend you trying it for a spot in the future.

Staff is amazing, well trained and friendly. They have a scooter parking as well. Cocktails are amazing, the best one for me is the south side (not the one in the picture) The food is great, we tried every taco they have on the menu. My favourite was the chicken adobo… wow. My gf preferred the beef one. Fish taco was lovely as well. Quesadilla with beef also tasty. The desserts are amazing… best tres leches ever tried in a restaurant.

Good gluten free options, cocktails were delicious and so were most of the tacos. I knocked a star off because the fish taco was nice, but the fish itself was not particularly great. One or two pieces of fish tasted quite off. Apart from that, we enjoyed the vibe, service and rest of the food. Loved how thin and tasty their homemade tacos were too!

This restaurant is located in Batu Bolong road. Really nice atmosphere and cozy chairs. Staffs are very friendly, welcome and fast response. Good explanation and product knowledge. Food is good, tasty and generous with dips and welcome chips. Home made Chilli is the best. We tried taco and quasadilla. High recommended for lunch and dinner.

Went for Taco Tuesday and it did not disappoint! Spot on tasty tacos and the spicy margarita went with them perfectly. Will be back for more and those hot sauces should be for sale - yum

Fine place, buy one of those places where they calculate a service fee and give themselves a tip... A big one. So the receipt was a surprise. If we would have had a better look at the menu, we could have been prepared, but it is just a nasty way of pricing, in my opinion. A regular beer in the Netherlands is cheeper.... And that says something. Other than the price, personnel is friendly and beer is beer, so ... Is was ok

What a place guys ! So I was leaving next to it for a week and had the opportunity to taste their food many times. Their Mexican sandwiches are amazing but most specially their desert Tres Leches is the best one I've tried ❤️

We visited in early afternoon for some great tacos and delicious cocktails. Good service with plenty of gluten free options. Great spot and tasty dishes.

What a fantastic place with exquisite food and drinks. The margaritas are great. We had bbq corn, fajitas, beef brisket which were all really good. The Tres Leches dessert was the best I have had. Very friendly staff, really efficient service, reasonably priced.. must do place if you are in the area.

After lots of Warungs we decided to go for something a bit different. It’s definitely not cheap but absolutely fantastic food and drinks. Incredible. Great vibe too

The first place in Bali where I found a Michelada, almost with the same flavor we have in Mexico, it's missing some sauces and lemon, but the food is pretty good.

  • 3/5 Erin F. 4 years ago on Google
Food was pretty tasty but fairly expensive for the size of the plate.

Nice place in Canggu if you'd like some latin tastes. A bit expensive and not so original. Staff is nice. And it closes early which is not so latin :p

  • 4/5 Tania R. 1 year ago on Google
Food wise it’s definitely not as good as motel mexicola with exception to the grilled corn which was superb. The vibe - Ideal for a relaxed dinner with family and friends but still with an up beat atmosphere. Interior and ambience is great but food wise disappointing. The tacos were average at best. If you do go get the quesadilla and the corn.

Very ordinary food. Tourist trap with high price drinks and overpriced dips - wouldn’t go back.

Was having a dinner today and we tried some of the menu. Really like the appetizer fundito(melted cheese, meaty pork or beef I forgot), also ordered this month promotion of taco that consist of sweet potatoes and other stuff (CDMX the name of the menu) it's great with strong flavour. Also order something with pork on it as recommendation(carnitas) . It was alright but the problem only the meat is a bit dry or overcooked. Don't forget to squeeze bit of lime and put a bit more chilli to better taste. Love the dessert my choice is the churos

BBQ Corn has great flavors with right amount of seasoning and grilled taste. Tostadas atun - great! Crispy shell fresh avocados lined on top of tuna sashimi. Some misses though, didn't like the Baja Fish Tacos. Not a fan of the pasty batter, fish was mediocre. Cauliflower Popcorn was alright. Quite nice but could do without the same pasty white batter. The chili sauce beneath helped lift the dish. Drinks were good! I had Paloma Magarita. Refreshing and a tall glass.

Went there tonight with my family. We didn't have a reservation but the night was just starting so we were lucky to get a nice spot inside. Make a reservation if you have a big group 4 or more. First impression: It's a good vibe with pumping music, nice lighting and ambience and nice slections of seats inside and outdoors. No ACs, just ceiling fans so it was not enough to keep the dining experience comfortable due to the humidity outside. Service: Good Service as 2 waitresess took and provided our orders promptly. However, no one came to check on us throughout. When we needed an extra something, we had to get up and go to them. They need more waitstaff. Food: Mediocre. It's a passing grade for mexican food standard. Ordered; -1 ceveche- the taste was flat. Nothing I couldn't do at home even better to be honest. There was no fresh citrus scent and the fish was flavorless. Presentation was palefish meat on a pale dish. Was not inviting. Portions are small as indicated. Not enough to share for 2 people. I would not recommend it. Also, we asked for a few more peices of Nachos to finish off the ceveche and they charged extra for few chips. Poor accomodation. - 1 Al pastor - good size portions (comes in 3 tacos per order). This was decent tasting. The meat was succulent and the vegies are fresh. Would order this again. - 1 Baja Fish - again good portions (comes in 3 tacos). The fish was okay tasting. What makes this particularly nice tasting is the combination of fresh Avocado chunks, dill and lime on the fish. Very nicely balanced flavorsas a result. Would order this again. Though I think "fish" isn't thier forte here. 1 shot of Mezcal- RM125k. Too expensive 1 Margarita Sour- La Clasica RM110k. 1 small bottle of water The bill came to almost RM800k. Way to expensive for a passing grade food experience. I would give this 6/10 overall. Lost points for inconsistent food quality, and expensive prices. With so many hip places with great food quality to dine in Canguu, I wouldn't waste money here again.

We celebrated my partner’s birthday at Lacalita Canggu and the staff helped make our night wonderful. They were attentive and helped prepare a small cake which my partner kept talking about even days after. The ceviche and chicken tacos were also super delicious. We loved the vibe of the place too! Will come back when we’re in Canggu again!

Were craving for a mexican restuarant and we stumble on La Calita. The quesadillas was nice, but not stuffed enough. I got a mexican friend to tried their menu. For him it was OKAY. A bit pricey for me. We ended up eating Babi Satay on a local stand way up ahead lol. Overall the restuarant is nice.

  • 5/5 Rae L. 1 year ago on Google
The tacos were so good! Served in a plate of 3. ~95k? We just had to return for one last drink on our last day. And this was our touchdown/first meal. Makes an awesome start and end for our weekend trip. It’s a self-respecting Passion Margarita at 115k. The chilli bottles at the table were really scrumptious with the chips!

  • 4/5 Courtney E. 1 year ago on Google
The food was good, service was exceptional. I wasn’t crazy about my fish tacos, the fish tasted over cooked and there was too much dill. Someone I was with ordered a quesadilla though and it was very good

Staff were really lovely and happy to assist with questions surrounding menu items. Good knowledge of gluten free and coeliac option. There were two of us and we opted for the shared part night menu $580k++. The food was nicely presented and fresh. Portions were definitely to the smaller side. The crème brûlée was really lovely!

Customer service was very good. They were very proactive. Gave us complimentary drinks and cake for our anniversary. Bit more on the pricier side but well worth it.

  • 5/5 Tara F. 8 months ago on Google
Great for gluten free. Had awareness about coeliac disease and even made sure everything was cooked in a seperate fryer for me. The corn tacos were some of the best I’ve had and they had gluten free tortilla chips too. Great price for the quality of food.

Chill place in Canggu offering great Mexican food. Service was good and the food was excellent. Ingredients were fresh. Only thing about the place is the very poor ventilation. If you do visit, take your time to pick a table. There is a single air-con unit and fans are few, so be prepared to sweat a lot in this outlet.

Good vibes and great cocktails! Didn’t eat all the food options but honestly the chips and guacamole were not great. Even with my standards adjusted for SE Asia, I’ve had better Mexican in Bali. Definitely recommend for drinks and a good environment but not so much on the food. Also a bit pricey

As someone from the American Southwest who's been living in Germany for 3+ years, I lived for the Mexican food in Bali. It's unmatched by anything in Europe and on par with what you find in the US. Lacalita has amazing Jackfruit tacos, chips, salsa, fresh made salsa verde and salsa rojo, and guacamole.

THE BEST MEXICAN! I went to the one in seminyak years ago and loved it. Now I started coming to this one as the other is closed and I can confirm is as good! My favorite tacos, and the Chilli night on Thursday is brilliant. Also their cocktails are the best one I have had in Bali. If I go to Canggu I eat in Lacalita!!

Nice place, good service, but not real mexican food at all. Whoever puts great reviews has never tried real mexican food. Queso fundido is not the real queso fundido, carnita tacos are cold and tasteless with frozen salsa. We left really disappointed.
