Ordinary food in a spectacular location, in the middle of rice paddy. The crispy duck is really crispy, a bit too dry. The sate lilit is delicious. The gurami goreng bit bland / tasteless. Nor the sauce / sambal nor the fish have any taste. It also would be better if they have soup in their menu to compliment all the dry / fried food. This place is more like tourist destination rather than food destination.

I have come here the 3rd times. The 1st time is at 1997 and till now the food still taste satisfying. The duck taste wonderful and crunchy. The sambal matah has a unique taste that makes it differently special. Services are still fine even in a very peak season. The view here completes the taste of the food.

This is not only a restaurant but also a touristic complex. It has a good ambiance, small rice fields, small fish pools and small temple like monuments. I recommend it for the ambiance but I cannot say the same for the meals. I tried the grilled duck (the price was around 140 rupiah) and it had a quite small portion and my wife tried chicken sate. We tried also shrimp - avocado salad it was an ordinary salad. In the end, two stars for meals and 4 stars for the ambiance. Eventually 3 stars in average for the place.

Amazing food! Yes, it's a little pricey but the food is definitely worth it. The surrounding is surreal, dining next to a rice field , just amazing. We had chicken satay, and it was amazing. Car parking is available in the property. Overall, one of the best restaurants we have tried thus far

The original store of a chain famous for their crispy duck. Very beautiful large yard with tables set around it (quite a lot of workout for the servers). The food is quite decent. I’m surprised that the veggie are different depending on what the main dish is. The side dishes are all delicious but very spicy (perhaps not for locals).

I think everyone who come to Ubud automatically come here. I came here already, knowing the price, but still come back bringing my family haha. It's just like mandatory place in your Ubud list. They famous for deep fried duck that has quite big size. We order the duck and chicken with red rice. The price is 135k for the duck (without rice), 85k for chicken. I personally understand why they set their price high when I see guest photos hanging in their wall. They offer eating in a clean saung with a small ricefield in the center. An experience for life. They also have Popsicles that surprisingly good. We choose the berry yoghurt variant, pay directly 25k and fell in love with the Popsicles. I didn't recommend you buy hot tea cz it's not worth the price. Will cost you a slightly different price for orange juice or coconut🤣

What a perfect place to eat with an authentic Indonesian food. The atmosphere is like welcoming you around when you come. You can choose either to eat indoors or outdoors. They have a very unique design interior with cozy touch that you feel like staying in a peaceful place and plus they have natural view. The weather is amazing there. The staff are super friendly and helpful. They serve the food quite fast as well. And the food is so yummy. Price is just perfect. It’s so clean. There’s nothing to complain about this place

We arrived for an early dinner around 6pm. The place was not as busy as before hence we managed to get a table in a hut to the far right side of the restaurant. It was pleasant and a different experience for us. The fan despite not able to turn was adequate in keeping air circulation. Thank God for a slight rain when we were seated which cooled down the environment. We ordered the 3 duck meals. My verdict is the bebek bertutu to be the best with the crispy duck coming in 2nd. The grilled duck should be a miss as it was largely just the duck cooked with kicap manis. We ordered the pisang goreng tepi sawah for desserts. This was real good and highly recommended. The kelapa muda was huge and we each were unable to finish it. Best to share one coconut between 2 diners to limit the wastage. While dining, there were plenty of insects which interrupted our meal. I guess that provides the experience of a "tepi sawah" kindda dining for city dwellers. When the sun setted, we saw a large monitor lizard just next to our hut. That completed the experience! 😅

The place to eat food is under a different gazebo spread over wide area with paddy field in between. Good and fresh feeling ambience with lots of orchid plants beautifying the area. The food is great and I guess very popular and that’s why I was there looking for it. The place is crowded yet so free because of the large area and gazebo spread over it.

Came specially for the crispy duck. It was crispy but more on the dry side. We had a same dish in another restaurant in Ubud the night before and the duck was crispy and juicy. So a bit of a let down. The grilled duck with some sauce was much better. We thoroughly enjoyed this dish. The fried fish was good but the topping was just super spicy. Had to remove all the topping, but ended up enjoying the fish. Prices are on the high side. Not sure if I’ll return. Satay was flavourful and delicious.

Arrived @ 1300hrs on a Thursday. Cold Lemongrass drink is a welcome in warm Bali. This lemongrass drink is refreshing and and fragrant. Food is really good. Will definitely revisit.

Absolutely beautiful scenery and food. Gardens and ponds with fish by your table make for a very tranquil experience. The braised duck with a Balinese spiced broth served out of a bamboo tube at your table was magnificent. This place is a gem.

I came here for the first time last year to try their crispy duck. It was fantastic. This is my second time in Bali and I knew I had to come back. I ordered the nasi campur and it was delicious. I also had the fried fish sambal with rice. This place doesn’t disappoint!

Friendly staff, quick service, relaxed atmosphere. But for locals there a better places. Is a typical tourist restaurant. Offers local food at a higher price level. Space to walk around in the garden - big parking area

Ambiance and food were good, but very touristy and super expensive. Bebek Tepi Sawah is a famous institution, and a rival to the nearby Bebek Bengil - they both serve traditional crispy duck. Their signature dish is always consistently excellent, and the surrounding environment offers a park and rice paddies to wander around in. The owner also has his personal art gallery attached to the restaurant. However, locals might find their pricing (150k-ish for crispy duck) to be too expensive. They seem to be aware of their fame and are pressing their prices higher as a result. Even though the duck is good, its hard to justify spending this amount on it.

Nice atmosphere and layout of the place. Lots of parking since it was nearly empty. Oddly since it was around dinner time. Maybe this place has lost it's touch? Grilled duck was overly cooked. Burned too much that the skin was black which isn't edible. Maybe they need to put it higher above the flames. Sate ayam was decent at least... Much better than the duck. But this place is supposed to be good at BBQ/grilled duck due to its name... In my humble opinion, it is overpriced and not worth it. It would have been good to not burn the skin off the ducks. Use aluminum foil or even banana leaves to protect it during grill perhaps? Good thing there's many other competitors that offer similar. Going to check them out next time.

Uff, the restaurant is awesome. The moment we entered we saw sitting area among small rice fields. They have open and indoor sitting, low and normal sitting. The food here is mind-blowing. I tried Crispy Duck, the most famous dish here. I heard that previous president also visited the same restaurant for crispy duck. It was crispy from outside but mouth melting from inside. I just loved it. Along with I tried pan grilled fish though it has lot of small bones which I feel difficult to eat but again it was really delicious. I enjoyed my food next to rice fields and in open area. I believe in Indonesia this is the best dining experience I had.

Very nice atmosphere with the setting of right beside the padi field. The place was calm and relaxing while having our dinner. The crispy duck is a must to try. We ordered the fried fish changed it to dark sauce but it could be nicer if cook with the original sambal sauce. Nevertheless, it is highly recommend to try here if you are in Bali craving for the crispy duck.

Very pleasant lunch... A local balinese restaurant with paddy fields inside.. We order crispy fried duck, roasted duck, avocado juice & carrot cake. All tasted good... The size of the duck is quite big, the meat was juicy, thick & tender... Served with veggies & 3 options of sambal, still worth the price... The food price are not cheap, pretty expensive compared to other local restaurant in Ubud, but that's okay cuz we came here in vacation so we are looking for pleasant dining experience... Definitely not for budget oriented bule & other tourist who always complain about price & everything... We eat in saung which is a small hut for 3-4 person with lesehan style which is sit on the hut's floor. But there's also lots of table & chair if you can't eat with lesehan...

I ordered the crispy duck set rice. With spring roll as entree, and sambal petai (smelly beans) as a side dish. Food tastiness is average, no wow factor. Coconut water not young, rather older. Nice traditional hut ambience.

The crispy duck was indeed crispy outside but tender inside, which was totally different from the other restaurants that I went to (others were still dry and hard to chew). Get to enjoy the scenic view and a very relaxing countryside ambience.

Taste of it's most favourite fried duck was average, but when you combine it with it's three kind of sambal, it went perfectly on your mouth. Price was quite good for not only just a plate of a dish, but also for the situation and the vibes here. Staffs were polite and helpful.

Food is just ok. The duck has very little meat. The only dishes we enjoyed were the duck cooked in bamboo, plecing kangkung, and Ice Puter. Spent over $41 USD.

This is my absolute favorite must visit restaurant in Ubud, although they expand many franchise outside Ubud but nothing beats eating this food here with the park field view. The duck is always fantastic! Servers are always standby near our table helpful ,efficient, and very polite. Can’t wait to return!

Our server Gita had exceptional customer service. Hope we’ve spelled the name correct. 10/10 so polite and respectful. She moved mountains to accommodate our many requests. The crispy duck and chicken wings (starters) are highly recommended. We wish we could have sat on a table within the gardens however they were all reserved and we were puzzled they remained empty at the end of the night. Suksma Gita!

Good ricefield view and vibes. Helpful staff. The taste is too sweet for indonesian but will be okay for foreigner. The duck cooked too dry in my opinion (people preference), the toilet is super clean. For moslem customer they also have the place to pray. A lot place to taking picture. Easy to find parking space and the security really helpful to get into the road.

5 star for the environment and 3 for the dishes Unfortunately the crispy duck portion was very small for me, the poor duck doesn’t have much meat. But the area is extremely nice and relaxing Recommend to visit this restaurant if you are in Ubud

Ask for outdoor seating to have a good view of the rice fields and koi ponds and dine in the breezy shack. Was busy taking photos of the surroundings and not the food. Food can take a while to prepare. Signature crispy duck and their side dishes (toufu, satay etc) are worth trying.

  • 5/5 Edgar D. 10 months ago on Google
The big garden with little rice field and nice separated cosy seats divided over the garden, are making this a real nice place for dinner. Very nice ambiance and good food where we always eat duck (bebek) at least. One of our favorite places to eat. Good food and ambiance come together here. Little practical detail that I appreciate is that they have many fountains for washing hands through the garden. Because you need your hands to eat duck. 😉 We always go back here when we are staying in this part of Bali.

One of the most popular must visit restaurant in Ubud area. They serve traditional balinese cuisine, and spesialises in duck (fried, grilled, bamboo steamed and smoked). Most popular is probably crispy fried duck, but if you want to try balinese herbs and spices, try the Betutu (smoked with spices). Tender duck meat accompanied with fresh sambal matah, to die for. Must try!

Nice place, but price quite high. We ordered crispy duck & the mujaer nyat nyat. Both of the dish were great! Duck was super crispy, mujaer fish was fresh & nice. The legend of Bebek Tepi Sawah. Yes of course, remember when we were kids, if we have a tour to Bali, this restaurant will be listed on the itinerary. I'm not into Bebek, I'm more into Ayam. The portion was okay. The price was a bit high (for me), but let say we paid for the scenery and the maintenance of its huge area. We can sit looking at the stunning rice paddies around. Welcome to Bali.
