A beautiful temple near Ubud Palace. There is an admission fee of IDR40K per person. During my visit, there was renovation work at the pond in front of the temple. The ambience is quite nice there.

This is a beautiful and picturesque temple in the heart of Ubud well known for its amazing Lotus ponds. Unfortunately, the Lotus ponds are currently under construction (as of August 2023), so they are not as beautiful as seen in other photos. They currently have one side completely drained, and the lotus plants on the opposite side are not in top condition. Still, the temple is worth a visit as it is fairly unique, and is a very popular place for photos, as you must wear Balinese dress (a wrap, kimono, and for men a headdress) to enter. Many people love getting photos while they are β€œin local costume. The location on Google maps is a bit confusing. Just look for the entrance to the temple and the ticket booth adjacent to the Starbucks. The entrance fee is about $7 US, which includes loaning of your required attire. Plan to spend about an hour here to get your photos, as often you will have to wait 15 to 30 minutes or more in line.

It was a little hard to find until someone said it was next to Starbucks cafe, and then I found it. You purchased a ticket for 35k on entry. You are given a kimono jacket, sarong, and headdress to wear. As you enter, the large cafe/eating area is on the left side. There were many people sitting next to the lily pond at the cage. You walk over a quaint bridge with a lily pond on either side. There are 2 chairs in front of the temple that you can sit at for photos. Being low season, I didn't have to wait in any line for a photo.

This temple looks fantastic from the outside. There are two ponds in front of the temple full of beautiful Lotus. This is a Hindu temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswati, the goddess of learning and knowledge. There is no entry fee but you are not allowed inside the main temple. A must visit

It is not free (cost 35,000 each),and it is a tourist trap. If you want to take cool photos for instagram, go here. However, if you want something that is not a total of about 100m of walking go elsewhere. There are so many temples that are much nicer and actually look like temples. Unless you want to take your clichΓ© IG photo in a purple throne, then you found your place. It is that bad.

As with Ubud Palace, defo worth checking out if I’m the area already. Bit wet when we went but still very nice. Photos show it looks stunning at night! Like many places you cannot enter the gate, but very nice to see regardless. Surrounded by water and plants is a nice touch. Starbucks at the entrance. Walk don’t drive as again it’s a nightmare on the street. Free entry!

I absolutely love this serene temple in the middle of Ubud centre. Saraswati temple has a beautiful atmosphere, and it is especially amazing when the lotuses are blooming too. Come here early in the morning to avoid crowds and take some lovely photos. The balinese temples are incredible :)

Saraswati Temple is in midst of Ubud near the market area. It is a temple dedicated to goddess Saraswati, who is the goddess of knowledge in Hinduism. Locals said that ceremonies are held in this temple regularly for students. As tourist we are not allowed to enter the temple, but we can see it from outside. There is a pond outside which is full of lotus flowers and a narrow path leads to the temple. It's adorned with beautiful rock sculptures and artwork. There are no entry fees to go here. You can give it a quick visit while in central Ubud.

Nice place to take pictures. Free entry, next to starbucks. Unfortunately, we can't know any history or story behind this temple, since there is no written information there.

Beautiful temple located inside city. You could enjoy temple view while eat or drink since there's some restaurants nearby. They didn't asked you to use sarong inside since you didn't enter the temple area. Also no entrance fee for this temple

Beautiful and must visit when in Ubud. One thing to know - you will not feel spiritual here, the prayers area is closed for visitors and you can't go inside. Even though one should go.

The ever beautiful Saraswati temple as known as the Ubud Water Palace, lies very close (walking distance) from Ubud Palace. Included in the fees is the sarong which is compulsory for all the visitors and is worn with the help of the local assistants. The temple boats if a central walkway in between the water with lotuses blooming on both sides. Moving straight ahead are two thrones where pictures can be taken. Also, on the left and the right sides, there are multiple statues. The prominent ones are Lord Rama, Lord Lakshmana, Devi Sita, and the Asura from Ramayan - Rahwana. Overall, one of the must visit temples close to the Ubud Market, which makes this highly accessible and convenient to visit during the day. One can also have coconut water at the entrance of the temple.

Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati in Ubud, Bali, is a captivating cultural gem. Nestled in the heart of Ubud, this water temple is a mesmerizing blend of traditional Balinese architecture and lush natural beauty. The lotus pond in front of the temple adds to its enchanting allure, creating a picturesque setting for spiritual reflection. The intricately carved stone gates and vibrant Balinese artwork showcase the rich heritage of the region. Whether you visit for a spiritual experience or to admire the artistry, Pura Taman Kemuda Saraswati is a must-see destination, radiating a sense of tranquility and cultural richness. Visited during this January, it filled my mind and heart about the tradition of this unforgettable place!

A beautiful temple with a lotus pond near Starbucks in Ubud center. No entrance fee is required for entry. The lotus flowers are very pretty. You can enjoy the serene scenery while dining at the nearby restaurant.

Not much to see here. There is a nice pond in front of the temple, and a couple of decorated doors. But that's it. As tourists are not allowed inside the temple itself, it is easy to come and leave in 10 minutes net. Still interesting but manage your expectations.

Popular temple in ubud city center. Its trademark is the lotus pond at the entrance. The place also hosts various traditional dance performances at nights (tickets purchasable from temple entrance), as such the eateries/coffee house directly facing the temple get extremely crowded. No sarong is required as visitors can only walk the perimeter and not the inside.

Very accessible temple, but still beautiful. This might be the only temple in all of Bali with a Starbucks attached. Easy to miss/pass by as you're walking down the main road, but definitely worth a look if you're in the area. Lots of lotus plants in a large pond and a single path to a gated, usually off limits temple compound.

Very disappointing. The beautiful lotus ponds surrounded by moss-covered statues? Non-existent. I came in November 2023, the ponds are empty, they put fountains in the middle with 'dancing' water. Also the statues along the corridor are taller than before and together with the fences block seeing the ponds (again, nothing to see). It's just 35k to enter but also it's JUST a 100m corridor with some extra fancy seats to get a picture that isn't that nice anyway. You can't enter de temple. Everything feels waaaaay overprepared for tourists, decorations all over the place. In my opinion it looked better before, when it was humble and simple. That raw beauty isn't there anymore unfortunately.

Nice, well maintained water temple in the heart of Ubud. It isn’t overcrowded luckily. There is entrance fee (not much) and also the map is tricky. You can go there by the main road next to Starbucks.

It's a beautiful temple from outside and tourists are not allowed inside the temple. Entrance fee is 35k per person. Hardly we can spend 10 min here. We need to wear the traditional dress kept in the entrance.

A beautiful lotus pond towards the entrance with lots of lotus flowers welcoming visitors leads the way to the beautiful "Saraswati Temple." It's close to Ubud Palace and next to the souvenir market. The temple interior is closed to the public and opened on special occasions, but the exterior is stunning and beautifully maintained. A nice spot to stop for a few photos. There is no entry fee. If you are interested in watching the Legong Dance and Ramayana, you can get tickets from the gates of Saraswati Temple. Also, there are restaurants where you can dine with a view of the beautiful lotus pond and temple.

Took us a while to find this temple as the entrance is hidden in between Cafe Lotus & Starbucks with a ticket counter. We thought it’s a performance venue with paid entrance. It was until we entered Ubud Market and one of the vendor guided us. Magnificent architecture with the scenic lotus pond. Drop by if you are in Ubud town.

Really serene temple in the middle of busy Ubud. We went when the lotus weren't in bloom, so we couldn't really enjoy it at it's fullest. But it was so nice and peaceful and such a change of pace compared to other bustling temples, that we really enjoyed the peacefulness of it all. Note: Visited prior to COVID, so things may be slightly different.

Curious place. Definitely feel there was a lot more unavailable to the public but as it’s free to enter that’s fair enough. Worth a look for sure. Really enjoyed the lotus beds. Shame it’s flanked by Starbucks πŸ€¦πŸ»β€β™€οΈ and a big empty restaurant.

One of the many Temples you will find in Ubud this one has a particularly beautiful lotus pond as you enter. A very peaceful retreat from the busy centre of Ubud.

A nice, tranquil spot to visit which is located right in all the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Be prepared that the lotus flowers are not always out like in the photos. You have to wear some traditional clothing to enter the temple area. They are one size fits all, so if you're on the larger size you will find them uncomfortable and look a bit silly. It's a great place for photos and if you like orchids, they have some beautiful examples there.

This temple has been privatized. But, you can get nice pictures from the outside of the temple; there is a very beautiful lotus pond outside of it. It is very near to the Ubud Palace and Ubud Street Market; much walking is needed, so it is not very friendly for people who can’t walk.

One of the best temples we have seen in ubud. You need to pay a ticket (30.000 IDR) to enter but it’s worth in my opinion. Recommended!

Unfortunately I went when the temple still closed and the lotus hasn't bloomed yet, but it was a beautiful and magical place.. next time I will come again when all the lotus blooms beautifully

I have to say that this review is low marked as I couldn't go into the temple as it was closed when I was there... it is only based on the lotus ponds area. So this is not a full, proper review. The lotus ponds are beautiful, as is the architecture. However, there is some construction work going on with the pathway walking towards the temple, with top stones missing off the columns and general rubbish around the area (such as water bottles stuck in holes in the walls). This isn't really the temples fault as it may have been from visitors late at night or in the early hours, but it did detract from the experience. I will be visiting again when it's open and will edit this review once I've done the full tour.

Foreigners aren't allowed inside the temple. We watched all women's cultural performances here and it was really beautiful. Try to reach the venue 40 before time to get good seats. Tickets are sold at the venue.

The temple itself is beautiful together with the pond in front of it. Seems like a cool spot for tourist as there is a Starbucks right at its entrance.

  • 3/5 Pranay S. 11 months ago on Google
Architecture is good but there is a maintenance work going on. The lotus pond is not taken care properly and in two sides cafes are built which decreased the beauty of the temple. You will need maximum 5 minutes to visit the place and it doesn't have any entry fee.

It’s one of the most comfortable places There are 2 big cafeterias there , one of them is startbucks and you can sit outside with this beautiful view Although the temple is closed to the visitors , you can enjoy the outside as long as you keep quite and dress properly for a holy place . There is no fee for the garden , only buy something from the caffΓ¨s

The temple was closed when we visited, but the lotus pond and the facade were open for visiting. Nice place for photos. The coffee shop in the front seems a good place to sit, rest, and appreciate the view of the pond and temple.

I visited during the day. No entrance fee. Too bad Starbucks is nearby because it spoiled the temple. Visited on December, rainy season, no lotus. But it’s very beautiful place. This is so contrast with the Ubud Palace.

Really good temple. Free entry. No need of any specific clothing. Open till 7 PM (not sure). The ponds are full of Lotus (not always blooming but leaves are there). It is a nice place to visit in center of Ubud. Nearby there's a parking and many small street shops also available for shopping which are good.

Saraswati is a goddess of education and art. The temple is centuries old and built amidst lotus ponds. A must visit in Ubud,Bali.
