On the way up you’ll pass by the war graves which is an impressive sight itself. The walk itself takes about 15 minutes from old town, it gets fairly steep but it’s still a paved and easy to walk on road. Older or less mobile people may find it difficult. At the top is a cafe and lots of benches to sit on. The view of the city is fantastic and I’m very glad to have gone up. I got there around 8:30am and it was empty.

We visited here on 8-15-2019. If you come from the city centre, just across from Sebilj fountain follow the street uphill for about 3km. Once you pass the big cemetery, it's there. Stunning view of the city, especially in sunset. So many locals come here too. The cafe here is good with a few finger food served. Highly recommended for watching sunset here.

Also known as Yellow Fortress. Best place for a free sunset viewing spot of the Sarajevo skyline. It is a bit of a climb to get to this spot from the old city, but it is well worth it. Go at least an hour earlier to check to see if there is cloud coverage above the horizon line to see if it's worth it to stay for sunset. That way you also get there before the crowd and get to pick out an unobstructed viewing spot. There are park table benches available, but people generally sit on the ledges in front of these benches. There is a stand selling drinks, but feel free to also bring your own snacks and drinks for a little picnic.

Definitely worth the 15 minute steep hike up from the Old Town Bazaar area. You will pass a beautiful cemetery. In fact, there are cemeteries all around on the hills. Don't bother walking up to the white fortress, as it is closed and even if it were open, it doesn't look like it's worth the walk or the drive.

One of the most beautiful views from Sarajevo... Breath taking. It's beautiful how you can see the old and the new part of the city, the combinations of cultures is woah. It takes a 20 minute walk from Baščaršija, maybe you will lose some breath and weight because it's uphill but still it's worth it.

Great place, but the entrance should be free. Right now it is 5KM for person, even 1 KM would be too much (i do not know what are they doing with this money, because it looks just bad), fortress ruins are covered in graffittis, and the view is better from the parking place (if you want to take a picture, the fence is ruining the view. Do not pay the ticket, just a waste of money!

Lovely place specially near the sunset time. You can have panoramic view for sarajevo on top. I liked it. But little bit the road to it is on hill so it was tiring.

Climb up here around 4:30 pm with pizza and beers (or whatever your snack of choice), claim your spot, and stick around for a couple hours to watch a glorious sunset over a beautiful city. The climb itself is definitely uphill so I would wear appropriate footwear, but it is nothing too taxing for a person of average fitness.

I am not sure extra effort is needed to go here. The view is just normal. This place is on top of a hill and it can be accessed via walking or by taxi. If you are planning to walk, the hill is a bit steep. There is also a coffee shop on the top. There is no entrance fee to park.

Worth the steep walk to enjoy the view. Even in the middle of winter it is lovely to sit here, particularly on a clear day. There is a cafe here also for basics like coffee and tea

It may be a good place once. Now it is just a nice viewing spot. After walking 🚶‍♂️up the hill for 12 minutes, we found a skeleton of some place may be it was a coffee shop. We found no seats, those who chose to set down, they sate on the concrete fence. Those who wanted to eat or drink brought the food with them.

Fab spot, lovely cafe and incredible views. Well worth checking out at sunset. When heading up from the old town go to the right of the cemetery (it's hard not to notice the dates on the tombstones-so incredibly sad). At the start of the cemetery to the left is a great pizza place that is really popular with locals. The walk from the old town, which takes less than 20 min, is steep and sometimes on uneven surfaces. If you have small kids or mobility issues, just grab a taxi in the old town rank.

If you enjoy beautiful views, you should definitely visit the fortress. It's open to everyone, and there's no admission fee. You'll also find a café there. Keep in mind that the streets leading up to the fortress can be a bit hilly, but trust me, the view is totally worth it.

I didn’t think it was worth the climb up! There’s nothing there; no chairs, benches, no coffee shop and the place is not clean. Yes, you can see the sunset and get some good pictures, but you could do the same in other places in Sarajevo without having to go all the way up!

This was a nice place to sit outside, enjoy the weather and the view. It's a fairly steep climb so be prepared for that (shoes, clothing, water, etc). Great for taking pictures!

After introducing my travel companion to a local from Sarajevo, whom I had met years prior to that the first time, we went to Tabija. My local friend wanted to make sure that we have a great view and get to enjoy the view on Sarajevo as the Maghreb prayers began and we started to hear the Azhan all over the city. Just beautiful and a feeling you will not get anywhere else in Europe, and not even in the world.

Beautiful view of surrounding, you will feel calmness and peace in this relaxing scene. The walk up to the he'll can be difficult for some, and specialy for elderly and parents with small kids and you can go by car. Few minutes away up there is a nice coffee shop don't miss it"

The famous sunset view spot overlooking Sarajevo. Famous for its evening Iftars during the holy month of Ramadan. The views are magnificent. Must view sight to visit.

Really cool spot to watch the sunset offering great views over the city of Sarajevo. Bit of a steep walk up the hill for a short period of time to get there but totally worth it. You should definitely stop by when in Sarajevo.

This location offers an excellent viewpoint of Sarajevo as well as the surrounding mountains giving you a good idea of how challenging it was for the city to withstand the attacks during the 90’s.

The view from the top of the hill where the fortress is is quite amazing, but oh boy the climb up there is also an adventure. Going through some of the Sarajevo back streets at a near vertical incline is actually pretty fun.

Amazing view at old part of the Sarajevo and so easy to reach from main street Baščaršija! if you came a bit before sunset you'll see beautiful moment when adhan starts from multiple mosques, lights start to turn on, peacefulness covers all Sarajevo, so beautiful!

Definitely worth the 15 min hike. Great view. Especially at sunset. There is also a cafe up there, but most people just bring there own stuff.

Beautiful view of the city and especially at sunset. Just a short 15 minutes walk from the city centre, but it's really steep so pace yourself abit to go up. There's a small cafe for drinks too if you need to relax.

The vets view on the top of Sarajevo. You can see the whole city from there. There's also a cafe to relax and have a drink with the view

After a nice walk from Baščaršija up the hill, you get to enjoy the stunning view above Sarajevo, and there is also a nice bar just above, in the forest. I would recommend going in the evening, to experience the sun dusk and the night view. A road is a bit narrow though, watch out for the traffic.

Super nice view. If you come to sarajevo for tourism, this is a must. There is also a coffee place there.

👍👍 Vibe of this place is immaculate!
