😐 I'll be honest...this was one of the worst sarna I have ever eaten. Not sure if the other food tastes better. It had no flavour at all just plain meat wrapped in vine leaves...but the menu advertised the one wrapped in cabbage leaves People often mention good, restaurant, recommended, Sarajevo, service, local, staff, dishes, meat, delicious,

Small, cozy and endearing, Dzenita sits at the heart of the Bascarsija. We were recommended the cevapcici, the klepe and the stew with ground beef and barley. All of it well-prepared, savory, warm and soul soothing food. The service was top notch. Make sure to visit Dzenita to sample not only the local cuisine, but observe locals enjoying themselves, bonding over food.

You will not go wrong if you sit down in this restaurant. The food is delicious, the prices are affordable, and the staff is helpful. Good apetite!

The worst meat ever. The veal tastes and feels like chewing gum. And they brought it swimming in oil. Zero cooking skills. Even amateures know that fried meat needs to be dried from oil before presenting it to guests.

Very nice place to have dinner, there are two areas that restaurant owns. Don’t forget to reserve table before go, otherwise you might not be able to find a table. Local foods were really tasty and portions were very satisfying. We ordered 1 klepe, 1 bosnian lonac, 1 sarajevski sahan(various dolmas and meat in a plate) with 1 coke and 1 jogurt. It costs 48.5 KM, around 25 euro. For 3 people, it is more than enough I guess :) We enjoyed the dinner, recommended..

We visited a number of restaurants with high ratings in Sarajevo, in search of local, authentic, traditional cuisine from fresh ingredients. Interestingly, this wasn't that simple. After trying many picks, we found Dzenita which turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The waiter helped us picking great dishes. The bill wasn't big. Most of all, the food was simply delicious! I highly recommend: visit Dzenita and see for yourself. You'll very likely to come back!

The Cevapi was really good, you can pay using card or cash and taxes are included on the prices showed in the menu.

On service alone - one star. Just don’t waste your time. Better wait for an Aščinica Dženita table across the street or one of many far better restaurants in town (Restaurant Veranda is a real winner not to far a walk away and at least for now usually has a seat available).

Me and my wife we ate as shared sogan dolma, japrak and klepe. First of all my wife got food poisoning possibly because of klepe which she primarily ate. Meat products were undercooked and a bit pink. Although sogan dolma was kind of tasty, its not worth it.

The food was very good. The prices are fair. Its a small place and when there are many people it is very loud. You are also allowed to smoke inside.

Someone reccommended this place to us and it was really great place to eat. They have not only delicious dishes but also delicious wines. The staff here is kind and helpful. When we will visit Sarajevo again, we will come here for sure.

Super recommended. Here you can find local food with a really complete and various offer, much bigger list than most restaurants. Quick service, staff is very kind and communicative. Average price or maybe slightly under average (considering local values) but with good quality.

Klepe overcooked, without taste. We waited very long time to our dinner. I do not recommend this place.

Okay, so this is some of the best food we tried during our Balkan trip. The traditional veal soup is excellent, you can taste it is homemade. The ravioli were a bit plain, but they also taste so homemade that they are very tasty. They are located very central in the bazaar. The issue we had is that, even if the food is great, we had to wait one hour just to get the starters. We were in the restaurant for a total of around 2 hours.

Came here three times during our stay in Sarajevo. Fantastic service and excellent food. All of the dishes are brilliant and the prices are very reasonable. The cevapi is a must try but also try the stew here

One of the best restaurants we tried on our Balkan trip. Homemade food. Veal liver and stuffed onions were very very good. Prices are very affordable. Highly recommended it.

Dzenita offers a huge menu of Bosnian dishes in a casual setting right in the old town of Sarajevo. There’s nothing complicated or sophisticated about the food here—it’s rustic home cooking done right! They offer small portions of a few of their dishes (making them perfect for sharing), and we started with the Klepe, which were small pastas with meat filling, served in broth and topped with a dollop of yogurt. We also had the Cuftete u Sosu, which were flat meatballs covered with tomato sauce and served with rice. From the grill section of the menu, we ordered the Pastrmka, which were two whole trouts, grilled and served with fries, boiled potatoes topped with chopped onions, tomatoes, ajvar (eggplant pepper paste), and yellow mustard. I couldn’t believe the value we got for the price of this dish—two whole fish for 16 KM (about $8)! We also got a simple mixed salad on the side (cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, peppers), along with a basket of chewy flatbread, which went nicely with all the different dishes. Though there was nothing fancy about the food here, the portion sizes and the value were unbelievable.

The food is great, that what made me visit this restaurant for the second time. The service is a little bit slow. The place is cozy, but really needs better ventilation if you won't keep the door open for fresh air. The smokers really bother me. I usually choose the farthest table from anyone smoking, but I was surrounded by them. I literally started feeling nauseous in the middle of my meal and couldn't enjoy it because of all the other smoking customers. Please, if you are letting your customers smoke in this small space, at least keep the door open and have a really better ventilation.

Me and two friends ate here last week and we ate A LOT! All of the food was amazing we had a veal hot pot and cevapcici also veal with a creamy mushroom sauce. Everything was really nice and fresh. The place was busy and it seemed to be busy all the time. Waiters were very helpful. Highlight was the sarma

Traditional home-style food We had a wonderful meal at this restaurant on the edge of Sarajevo's old town. The waiter helped us select some traditional meals and his recommendation were perfect! They were delicious. We loved the walnut filled apple for dessert too!

I had a dish that looked like dumplings, but they were juicy and very tasty. It came with a yogurt-like cream, or it was a good match. The restaurant is stylish, so you can enjoy it inside or on the terrace. The prices are cheap and reasonable.

Just stumbled on this restaurant while walking around in the old town. I enjoyed my lunch - delicious food, friendly staff and nice atmosphere. I returned to have beer in the evening. I can recommend.

Went coz it was recommended to us but l am sorry to say we ware disappointed. First evening l returned my sabre dish as it was not what it was written on the menu, no problem with returning dish at all. Although my son loved their Bay soup, so we did go for second visit for Bay soup and my husband ordered omlet and it took 45 minutes to get omlet. Hopefully it will improve as it is cute place in the heart of old town.

Decent enough late night spot, popular with locals, for food and drink alike, especially when there are not many places open in the old town past 10/11pm.

Excellent, straight food, I especially recommend stews which are not complicated but cooked for a long time and have great taste. Very friendly service. Great choice of dishes (perhaps too may).

Best restaurant in Sarajevo, "a mani basse", stuff is very friendly, the food is the best you can find in all Sarajevo. I recommend this for trying the real bosnia food. Prices are very low. Greetings from italy

We were in the new location. Ravioli with minced meat were with no taste and hot/cold (like when you heat up something in microwave). Vegetarian plate was with no taste either. We did not test other dishes and can’t say about it. We left hungry (paying full price) and went to another restaurant. One thing is for sure, we will not go back to this place.

The food itself was quite good, but the quality of service is really horrible if you're not the owner's friend. We were waiting for about an hour for our food, while the waiter was serving all of his friends as soon as they arrived, completely ignoring our table. Many people around us just quit after not being noticed by the serving staff. Recommended only if you're on a good terms with the owner.

The food is amazing and the staff (4.08.2021) super friendly! Recommend by locals. Good prices and a good choices of local food! Unfortunately, the restaurant is inside not as atmosphereic as outside. But we had luck and got a table outside. We will be back!!!
