We
booked
dinner
at
the
Hedona
Wine
Club
as
a
special
treat
for
Christmas,
and
we
were
not
disappointed.
The
location
is
beautiful,
high
on
the
hills
near
Sarajevo.
From
our
table
we
could
see
the
lights
of
the
city
spread
out
before
us.
We
were
lucky
enough
to
be
the
only
guests,
which
made
it
very
romantic
and
intimate.
We
were
also
charmed
by
the
owner,
a
born
raconteur
who
regaled
us
with
tales
of
his
life
and
of
Bosnia,
as
well
as
providing
an
excellent
guide
to
the
wines
we
enjoyed.
The
wine
was
outstanding
-
highlights
included
a
wonderful
sparkling
Pinot
Noir
from
2014,
an
orange
wine,
and
a
semi-sparkling
wine
we
enjoyed
in
the
wine
cellar
itself.
I
am
not
a
connoisseur
of
wine,
but
I
have
at
least
some
experience
in
drinking
it,
and
I
thoroughly
enjoyed
every
glass.
It
is
an
excellent
mix
of
some
solid
conventional
wines
and
some
more
exciting
flavours,
which
even
a
beginner
like
me
can
enjoy.
The
food
was
also
of
the
highest
quality.
Everything
is
home-made
from
local
ingredients,
with
a
mix
of
Bosnian
and
Italian
influences.
Highlights
for
me
included
a
pistachio
and
cream
cheese
ravioli
topped
with
breadcrumb
farofa,
and
a
simple
dish
of
home-made
bread
dipped
in
Croatian
olive
oil,
accompanied
with
aged
sheep's
cheese
and
dried
lamb
sausage.
All
in
all,
this
was
a
standout
experience
for
us
-
it's
the
kind
of
evening
that
sticks
in
the
mind
for
a
long
time.
If
you
enjoy
wine,
food
and
good
conversation,
I
cannot
imagine
that
there
are
many
dinners
that
will
compare!
