Really nice place, that starts working early and you can sit there drinking a cap of traditional Bosnian coffee and watching how small shops around getting ready to open. I loved the atmosphere, interior and a very polite young waiter who helped to understand how to drink the coffee in a proper way. I ordered Bosnian coffee several times before in other places but no one bothered to explain what’s the procedure. So it was nice of him. Highly recommended

One of the most fun places I visited in Sarajevo this year, introduced by a friend who had been living there a while. Hussein the chef will make the tea for you, or their special salep. The decor is teakettles and cozy Ottoman patterns and designs. It's only across the street from the heart of Bascarsija and Sebilj, but it does feel a little removed from the hectic summer crowds. Highly recommended. I will be back!

Even though this place is located just a minute from the buzzing and hectic Bascarsija time runs at a different pace here. The owner Hussein takes his time, explains everything you want to know and is definitely going to captivate you with his friendly, relaxed and unique character. Good tea, coffee and an interesting ottoman drink called Salep.

We were welcomed with amazing hospitality. We had a great chat with our host (amazing woman) who made the drinks for us, and built super friendly and easy-going atmosphere. We drunk real Bosnian coffee with serbet, and had a background story about the drink preparation. I will visit this place again, for sure!

What a fantastic tea and coffee shop. Hussein (I'm assuming he's the owner?) is one of the coolest and most welcoming people I've met. This place is a tea person's heaven but also amazing for us coffee folks. The best traditional coffee I've had in Sarajevo, made with love and care. Definitely worth the very short walk up the hill!

Beside his amazing tea, Mr. Dzirlo ( owner ) is friendly, pleasant and well knowledable person. Location is attractive, and tea house is located in one of the oldest streets in Sarajevo.

💯 The ambiance of this place is great! The walls, rugs, paintings, mirrors are so beautiful that one cannot get enough of looking at them. their teas are great! of course, coffee, sahlep, hot chocolate etc. There are different items on the menu, but their teas are so good that they cannot be compared. 😌 I think we tried 5 different teas in this process. If you want to buy a tea, they ask you to smell it first and ask if you like it. their staff is very good, they speak English and they gladly answer your other questions. So we definitely recommend! by the way cat friendly cafe!

Our second time here. Both times were a pleasure. Tea is tasty and well served. Many, many options to choose from. You can choose by ingredients AND if in doubt, smell all the possible options. Location is great, just a minute from Sebilj. Great talk with the owner. Awesome guy! We will come again, Džirlo!

Loved it. Nice view on the Old Town of Sarajevo. In the Street of Kovači. One of the best old and tiny little place to drink varios varieties of tea, coffee and salep. Very polite manager of the place, Husejin, who will warmly welcome you to this Čajdžinica. The service is not fast but rather smooth and calm. Enjoy!

The best place I visited in Sarajevo. During my stay went twice. The vibe, the service, the quality, everything is exeptional. I highly recommend. The owner is a great guy who is very polite and makes you feel like home. The variety of the teas is amazing and we were recommended one of the best teas I ever tasted. In the morning, I have been the served (not kidding) THE BEST BOSNIAN COFFEE. This is such a nice place I wish I could go there all the time.

The teahouse has such a cute atmosphere. I loved the design of it. I ordered Bosnian coffee. The waiter spoke English and gave me a long instruction on how to drink it. It tasted very good. I particularly loved the cinnamon based sherbet drink they gave next to the coffee. Highly recommended.

Stopped for a Bosnian coffee on the way to a view of town. Worth the stop. Was different to coffee I'm used to in the West. Staff was really friendly, helpful and made good conversation. The street this place is on is cool too. Relax and watch people walk on by. When I come back to the city I'll be coming here again for sure.

Such a quaint little tea shop! We had something akin to sahlep but I unfortunately forgot the name of it. It was really very good! Highly recommended and a great place to chill, especially when it is raining.

Such a wonderful place to enjoy a hot drink! Definitely one of the best things to do in Sarajevo - hangout here, drink and chill.. the owner is super welcoming and you feel that is making everything with love.

A unique experience to taste coffee or tea at this almost classic place served in a very special way. Highly suggest Jasmine tea & Greek (there called Turkish) coffee. However some restoration is needed.

Great location to watch the world go by in old town. A Bohemian vibe with a very charismatic owner operator. You can get traditional Bosnian hot drinks like salob (which tastes like a chai latte made from orchids and milk)

  • 5/5 Serban D. 1 year ago on Google
We shared a Bosnian coffee and a salep. Delicious both of them. They both came with instructions from the lovely owners for the uniniciated in the traditions. Warm welcome in a lovely setting of a proper traditional teahouse. A must visit when in Sarajevo.

This place was really worth the visit. The tea blends were amazing and the whole experience with the owner (Hussain) was just spot on, with his knowledge and he was such a charming man. We ordered 3 different teas as it was three of us and all of them were wow so good. From start to finish Hussain looked after us with a high degree of care and attention. Would defiantly return and recommend to any tea lovers visiting Sarajevo. He gave a very passionate and personal feel to the experience. would definitely come bk again! Unfortunately you cannot buy tea but this does not detract from experience.

This is a good place to go to if you have never had Bosnian style coffee or sharbat. The owner will walk you through how everything works if it's your first time. Bonus cats on the area as well. 😺

The best place to have your favourite coffee or can select amongst numerous teas. The owner is very authentic and will serve you your order with a story. I can easily say this is the best hospitality experience in the old town of Sarajevo.

You go there for the experience more than for the drinks! We loved having our coffee while chatting with, we presume, the owner? She was super friendly and took the time to explain to us the way of drinking Bosnian coffee. We would’ve gone back again and again but we were only in Sarajevo for one night.

  • 5/5 D L. 7 months ago on Google
Really really nice tea house. I loved every minute. The (I guess) owner does is job with love. Tea was really good. Of course the seating area could be a bit bigger, but they really did there best, with such a small place. I would definitely come back, when I am in Sarajevo.

  • 5/5 Gary P. 5 months ago on Google
Nice turkish style teahouse with good atmosphere. Shop staff were very friendly and explained how to drink, prepare bosnian coffee. Bosnian coffee is a black coffee. Very homestyle ambience, great experience overall. Coffee was reasonably priced at 4KM. The only con is the endless cigarette smoke and people being able to smoke indoors (the indoors are open to the outside), though typical in the Balkans.

Came here for a Bosnian coffee, got coffee + explanation of how it's to be taken + great hospitality + great vibes. Definitely one of the highlights of the restaurants/cafes in Sarajevo. The owner was happy to share her experiences, and even showed us what the street looked like in 1913. Wonderful people frequent this place too. A local was happy to break my 100 into smaller change. Great experience. Would return any day of the week.

The Bosnian coffee is great, the prep process is an interesting experience and the environment is pretty hip! The owner has good understanding toward tea and coffee. He’s very friendly and has great hospitality. Moreover, salep is a very cool milky cinnamon drink that people visit shall try.

You’ll be greeted in and out of bere by the friendly owner! You can try any of the 50+ teas I believe he said on offer. I went however with the traditional Bosnian Kava (coffee). You receive a sort of sweet water with it (today was cinnamon and honey), along with a turkish delight or Lokum as they call it here. You can sit downstairs and people watch or go upstairs to the cute area as you can see in my photos!

A wonderful, out-of-the-way gem! The staff is super friendly, the choice of tea is impressive, and the atmosphere makes you wanna stay forever. I'd give it 10 stars if I could - and I recommend their ginger tea for hangovers.
