Really good museum, it's in the 3td floor of the building, the exposition is not big, just a single floor but very touching. Lots of imagens and videos that you can watch even without audio guide. Entrance is 12 KM, around 6 euros.

An immersive and touching exposition to tell the tale behind the Srebrenica genocide. The gallery goes beyond just showing pictures but tells the stories of those affected, making the experience more personal beyond the abstract statistics of the tragedy. Our tickets were valid for two days, which allowed us to listen to all the stories and watch all videos over multiple days. It can get heavy and intense to do everything at once. The audio guide is optional at the entrance but you absolutely have to take it.

A sad but very needed experience. Lot's of photos from the 90's Bosnian war. They have a couple of films that play as well. I would recommend that everyone who comes to Sarajevo see the gallery. I went in June of 2018.

Yet another must visit place in Sarajevo. This is the war seen by an artist. The conflation of the visual medium with audio transcripts hit you to the core and the brutality of all forms of human right violations is laid out naked. It's a difficult experience, but a necessary one.

Make sure you take the audio guide. It's essential for this exibition. Entrance and audio guide is 16 Mark. You can see photos from a local Bosnian photographer but the photos are not so impressive compared to the Infos shared. There are two video screens. Each take around 40 min to watch several documentaries and short movies. Recomand to visit if you interested in the history of the genocide of Bosnia.

The stark realities of genocide in modern times are on display here, interpreted primarily through a series of incredible photographs taking the aftermath of events at Srebrenica. Chilling, but so important to understand...

Mixed multimedia experience on the Srebrenica genocide. Such an impactful way of telling stories! I learnt so much in the 1.5 hours that I was there. Do get the audio guide. It only costs KM4 and it helps give context to the photos that you are looking at. Entry fee is only KM12. Definitely worth a visit!

Such a poignant place to visit. Harrowing images and videos of the Massacre of Srebrenica and The Siege of Sarajevo and The Bosnian War. If you are ever here in Sarajevo you should visit this place and learn what happened.

Museum specifically focuses on the genocide in Srebrenica, towards the end of the Bosnian War. Unknowingly spent 4 hours in there cos there's so so much to absorb. The audio guide is a must to really understand the stories behind the exhibits, and also please do spend time to watch the films - they are so powerful in educating what went on and also hitting hard on the emotions and hurt that still lives today in Bosnia.

Heartbreaking, intense yet beautiful. The gallery is small but it showcases a good mix of art and information about the genocide in Srebrenica, allowing the visitors to learn about the history in different angles. Even though the gallery is small, you can easily spend a day there depending how much you want to take in. My ticket was valid for two days, and I would have went back the next day if I didn’t have a flight to catch because there is just so much to digest. Highly recommend to get the audio guide since it explains a lot about the photos displayed in the gallery. The computer contains a lot of a information and small details of the whole event, while the short film is just impressive - you can really see how emotionally this genocide affects the people. I would suggest everyone to pay a visit.

I visited this gallery of course to see the war photos, but also partially in order to avoid from the heat of July in Sarajevo. Hot and stuffy inside. Couldn't concentrate on the exhibition. If you take that much money for the entrance fee, you should at least provide the pleasant atmosphere - air condition.

It's as painful, heavy hearted and sad as it gets. But in this context it's the biggest compliment. A strong, well captured important part of BiH history, captured in this exhibition. The story that should be told and heard. Well done !

  • 4/5 Ja-Eun L. 4 years ago on Google
Was really helpful to understand the history. The audio guide was really helpful - strongly recommended to use it. It’s small therefore you can thoroughly enjoy the space. The video clip - “10min” vividly pictures what happened during the Sarajevo siege poignantly. The staff was aloof and not nice - I felt upset after a great time at the gallery though.

Excellent exhibit, very well done. More people need to understand what happened in Srebrenica and work to prevent such atrocities in the future.

  • 5/5 Maria Y. 4 years ago on Google
Although i had read about the events that happened in Bosnia, I was not prepared for the exhibit. All the pictures and videos in the gallery, brought to life the pain and anguish the Bosnian people went through. My heart was overwhelmed with sadness, and I pray it will never happen again. Everyone should see it.

  • 5/5 Robert C. 4 years ago on Google
This is an in-depth view of the Srebrenica massacre. It's a collection of pictures and videos that really taught me what happened and why. Just a note near the start there are 3 computers which gives a daily blow by blow account of the 2 weeks covering everything. If you are a completest like myself it takes well over 3 hours to get through it all. It is in-depth so brace yourself.

Very interesting exposition about the effects of the civil war in Bosnia's field. The contents are extensive, so significant time is needed to watch it in full (4h). Still, it is recommended.

Really interesting and heartbreaking exhibition. A must visit in Sarajevo. I would recommend everyone to get the supplementary audio-guide, because it adds so much depth to all the pictures that are exposed.

  • 5/5 Alice W. 1 year ago on Google
Terribly heart-breaking but these are stories that absolutely need to be told. The ticket allows you to visit this museum over 2 days which is quite thoughtful as it could get too heavy to handle all in one go. The gallery also opens until 9pm which is very convenient if you are in Sarajevo only a short time and want to pack a lot in. Make sure to get the audio guide and watch the documentaries - allow about 2 hours all up.

  • 5/5 Harmen 1 year ago on Google
Amazing and touching memorial to the war and genocide. The amount of pictures was exactly right, enough to fill the space, but not so many that you lose interest. The accompanying audio guide is a must, the photographer beautifully - yet briefly - contextualises his images. One special thing to note is that a large part of the gallery depicts the aftermath of genocide and war: grieving families, the search for remains and documenting war crimes. Many war museums depict war, and most war photography I knew depicted soldiers and war imagery. This gallery about what follows was truly unique. Must-see in Sarajevo. If you visit one war-related museum, visit this one.

Not a "fun" thing to do by any means but a fantastic museum/gallery. I suggest you go when you can really take your time. It took me 3 hours with the extended audio and to watch all the mini films / documentaries they had playing.

This is a powerful exhibition not only of photographs but also video footage of the conflict. The oral history captured in the video footage is an important time capsule for the tragedy that happened to thousands of innocent people.

This museum brings to light the genocide in Srebrenica, a UN safe area, during the conflict in the 90s. It showcases photos, posters and documentaries which highlight the brutality of the 11/07/95. An audioguide is available (at extra charge) which explains a lot of the photos - there is no written explanation so the photos have no context without an audio guide. There are also documentaries playing in the gallery and computers with more videos highlighting the genocide. With your ticket, you can return on the next day as well if you want to break up your visit. I was surprised how small the museum was compared to the price, it's not the cheapest museum.

  • 5/5 Janette C. 9 months ago on Google

We toured the gallery during our stay in Sarajevo. We had not heard about the genocide very much during our tour. Bring an item to leave at the front so you can use the recordings and ear set. I left my hotel key. The photos displayed in sections spoke loudly on their own but the descriptions did help. Stay for all 5 videos.

Possibly the best war museum in Sarajevo - if you only have time for one, make it either here or the war childhood. Definitely recommend buying the audio guide. Photos are haunting.

There are no words that can explain this place. No matter which level of the awareness you enter this gallery with, the emotion will overwhelm you. Rent the headphones for a better experience and much-needed explanation of the historical evidence. Must see!

One room exhibition with several photos. As the name suggests, it focus on the after match rather than the war itself. The entrance fee the the highest of all the museums I went(12 marks), and +4 marks for the audio guide (which is totally worth it). Sadly, it fells that it is too small. The quality of the photos and audio guide are great, I wish there were more. By the end of the room there are 2 movies with more than 1 hour duration, also worth your time.

These are people whose memories we should honour... We failed them in their hour of greatest need. 'All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.' Edmund Burke. Well presented and accessible. We must remember them.

A place to visit in Sarajevo. It is a gallery of photos and videos about both the genocide in Srebrenica and the siege of Sarajevo. The gallery is small but the films shown are quite long (but very interesting) and if you want to see everything, it can take about 3 hours. With one ticket you can enter twice. The place you need to see in Sarajevo.

  • 5/5 Lewis F. 4 years ago on Google
A sombre, touching museum which will stay in my head for a long time. The museum is principally a photo exhibition with a detailed and harrowing audio tour which I recommend paying for. There are also a series of subtitled films about the massacre playing on a loop which are definitely worth watching. A sad experience but one that we need to be reminded of. I'd recommend visiting here after the Museum of War Crimes so that you have a good idea of the roots of the conflict and the context in which Srebrenica took place as it assumes some knowledge.
