The free walking tour in Sarajevo, guided by Edin, is an incredibly enriching experience. It is meticulously planned, easy to follow, and incredibly informative. Edin's friendly demeanor and excellent fluency in English make the tour even more engaging and accessible. If you're in Sarajevo, I highly recommend taking advantage of this insightful, well-conducted walk tour.

I have booked four tours with "Meet Bosnia" agency between 24th-26th July 2022. The tours were: 1- Herzegovina (Mostar, Blagaj, Pocitelj & Kravice Falls). 2- Srebrenica. 3- Fall of Yugoslavia (Sarajevo Siege Tour). 4- Sarajevo Free Walking Tour. I had all my trips in Bosnia scheduled with "Meet Bosnia" because the whole process before the tours, the booking, the reception, and the payment were made by the staff quickly, smoothly, and clearly. Their communication was easy; they were active and responsive on WhatsApp and Email. The tours were with the guides Sanad, Adnan, Arna, and Hedaya; they were all very informative and easy to follow. Herzegovina tour with Sanad was magnificent, the nature, the culture, and the history. Sarajevo's walking tour with Hedaya was a chance to explore the old town's most famous attractions and sites. The fall of Yugoslavia tour was hard for sure, but I gained a lot of information and stories about that difficult time from Arna. Srebrenica trip; you think you already knew about it, but you don't. Seeing some of the tragedy in person on site, even at a different time, with Adnan's voice and body language, was tough. I highly recommend exploring Bosnia and Herzegovina by booking tours with "Meet Bosnia" agency.

My brother and I joined the free walking tour the day after we arrived at Sarajevo, and it is the best walking tour I have taken anywhere in Europe. Our guide Arna (I hope I got her name right) is knowledgeable and passionate, and overall it was a very moving experience. Immediately after that we decided to sign up for the Fall of Yugoslavia tour the next day, and this time our guide is Ahmed. Ahmed is a walking history book who is not shy to share his opinions, and is also curious about each tour member’s background and viewpoints. So we were really happy when we discovered Ahmed is our guide again the next day when we took the full day tour to Hercegovina, together with the same cheerful driver. All in we took three tours with Meet Bosnia and we were very happy with all of them.

We were in Bosnia and Herzegovina for the first time, and decided to take the Sarajevo free walking tour. Our guide, Edin, was professional, informative, and entertaining. Our experience was so good that we decided to book the Siege of Sarajevo tour for the next day. Arna, our guide, had lived through the siege, and our driver was a veteran of the war. They shared their lived experiences; in doing so, really made an emotional connection with those of us on the tour. Critical that we remember and understand what happened in the past, so that we do not let history repeat itself again and again. The third day we took the Mostar Tour. (We had thought about booking the train to Mostar on our own, however there was only one, very early, departure, and the return from Mostar wouldn’t have been til late afternoon. So we booked with Meet Bosnia). And we are glad we took the Meet Bosnia Mostar tour. We were able to see many more sites than if we’d gone by train, and Vikki our guide was funny and able to provide explanations to what we saw, and answered all our questions. We have taken a lot of free walking tours (and paid tours) around the world, and this is one of the best organizations. The people are passionate and truly believe in what they’re doing, and you can tell. Good people, great company, Highly recommended.

We spent a great day with this professional company. We visited many beautiful and interesting places in one day. Excellent guide, careful driver and responsive operator. Special thanks to the operator, without his help we would have been lost in the city and would not have been able to return home.

You can feel that staff is friendly from the first phone contact, later confirmed by a very friendly employee of the agency, who kindly welcomes us. The offer is worth the money, because on the way to Mostar we visited several tourist spots (Konjic, Kravice waterfalls, Počitelj...), which is definitely not possible to do in one day on your own. Special praise to guide Kenan, who explains everything in excellent English. You find out all you need to know and more! Very friendly and caring towards the guests, we felt like we were on a trip with a friend. He always made sure that no one got lost or felt uncomfortable in any way. On my next visit through the agency, I will certainly request the same guide again. Thank you Meet Bosnia Tours for a great trip.

Very interesting and personal tour. There is so much of recent history to know about Sarajevo and having a tour guide that lived that historical moments it’s an amazing experience. Edin was our guide and he was amazing explaining all the facts about Sarajevo.

I wish I could give more than five stars! We have done three tours with them and each of them was amazing. City tour with Edin, also the owner, entertains and informs you very well. You can see his enthusiasm about Sarajevo from the first minute on, he impresses you with his knowledge about the city and entertains you with short stories. All the restaurants he has suggested after the tour were jackpot! After that we have decided to do Fall of Yugoslavia tour with Ahmet, where they arrange transportation to several different spots in the city (e.g. hope tunnel, sniper alley, abondened bobsleigh) and guide informs you about the unfortunate events and genocide that took place 92-95. Although the topic itself and locations are quite sad, our guide helped us to understand what happened at that time and answered all our questions happily. At last, we have decided to see more places in the Herzegovina and decided to book a tour where they took us from Sarajevo to Dubrovnik and stopped at very nice locations. Highlights are Mostar, Jablanica, Blagaj but there are few more stops. We had a driver/guide Kenan, who not only drives very carefully but also knows the country very well and made our day an unforgettable one. I would definetly recommend joining the tours that are interesting for you with this company, where people do their job with great enthusiasm! Hope that stays and even evolves in this way!

We did the 4 hours "Fall of Yugoslavia | Sarajevo Siege Tour" on 3rd April 2023 and can highly recommend it! Our tour guide ALEN explained everything very well and as the siege of Sarajevo took place during his childhood, he can also tell many incredible, touching and heartbreaking stories from his own experience. When we went to the Sarajevo war tunnel, Alen told us that the people even digged it with spoons and their hands when they had no other equipment. Every single person who has spent almost 4 years in besieged Sarajevo is a big hero! When we come to Sarajevo next time, we are looking forward to do again another tour with MEET BOSNIA. :-) Sandra & Armin

Meet Bosnia tour guide (& owner) Edin led a stellar tour around Sarajevo. He gave an in depth, but succinct overview of the country’s history and most important moments before we started walking around the city. His heart warming passion and respect for his country and culture shone through every sentence. This tour, led by Eddie, was absolutely the best walking tour I ever had the pleasure of joining. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Must do!

A few days ago I did the free walking tour with Edin. The best free tour I've ever experienced. A wonderful two hours walking around the city and learning about the history of Sarajevo. I liked this tour so much that I booked a paid tour about the siege/fall of Yugoslavia the next day with Agan. Again, this tour was wonderful and super well organized. I had the chance in the end to do the cable car, which was wonderful. Highly recommend Meet Bosnia Tours as a top company to book tours while staying in Sarajevo. Thanks for being one of the highlights of my trip!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Highly recommended. We took the one-way tour from Sarajevo to Belgrade, stopping at Viŝegrad and other interesting places along the way. The scenery was spectacular and our tour guide was fantastic. He was full of information about anything we asked, and he had no problem stopping to allow us to take photos or whatever we needed.

Great travel agency with many trips' suggestions. I did the free walking tour + Fall of Yougoslavia tour with Armin, he was really nice and answerd all of my questions. Then I did the Mostar trip and Srebrenica one with Arna/Armina, she was great, very concerned about our needs, and really nice to travel with. We even had the chance to eat with a local from Srebrenica. I also did the Travnik/Jajce tour with Adnan, he knows very well the History of Bosnia and was able to give us a lot of information. I enjoyed my trips with the drivers Zerno and Alan (sorry for the pronunciation) they were really nice and made me discover great Bosnian music. All of this was arranged with the help of Medina who was always available to help me through my stay in Bosnia. I recommend this agency 100%, very nice and kind people. Thank you for making this an unforgettable trip for me, I will surely come back.

I have done the Fall of Yugoslavia tour with Allan and it was absolutely amazing! Allan is a patient and extremely knowledgeable guide who does not hesitate to explain the history and customs of his country with great detail and passion. The tour features some hey highlights of the city’s history and is very well organized - 100% recommended

Did 2 trips with amazing tour guides Arna and Ego! They are both locals, very knowledgeable and very open to share their own experiences in Sarajevo, past and present. I learnt tons of things I could never imagine to have without talking to them. I highly recommend everyone to take a trip with them if you want to understand this city

Absolutely thrilled with this tour agency - 110% recommended. I participated in the Free Sarajevo Walking Tour, the Mostar Day Trip and the Fall of Yugoslavia Tour. All three of the tour guides (Edin, Jasmin and Zehra, respectively) were fantastic! They were all entertaining, friendly, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and passionate about showcasing their history, country and the gorgeous sights/hidden gems. 5+ stars, and I will definitely be booking more tours with them in the future.

We took the free city walking tour, and we cannot give it a higher recommendation. An amazing and informative tour over 2 hours across a number of the key sights/attractions. If you're coming to Sarajevo, do yourself a favour and book this tour. Our guide (Kiki) was amazing - a very enthusiastic ambassador for a wonderful city.

  • 5/5 Gabrielle S. 7 months ago on Google
My husband and I participated in the free walking tour with Kiki as our guide and it was one of the best walking tours we have done. Kiki provided us with lots of information about the (ancient and modern) history of Sarajevo and the country, the stories of the areas and architecture in the town and told us a lot about the culture including the food of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Kiki also answered questions asked by people in our group. We thoroughly enjoyed this tour and it really enhanced our understanding and experience of the city!! Following this, we decided to do a full day paid hike to Lukomir Village with Meet Bosnia Tours. Our guide was Alan and he provided us with lots of interesting facts and information about the country, culture and the areas we visited. We were the only 2 guests on this tour. Lukomir Village is the highest and most remote village in Bosnia and Herzegovina with original stone houses. We enjoyed the drive there with our driver and Alan (about an hour from Sarajevo) and then the approximately 2 hour walk to Lukomir through the mountains with Alan. We had a lovely authentic lunch in the town and enjoyed a similar walk back after looking at some amazing views from lookouts and seeing stone tombs from the Bosnian empire in the 14th century. We thoroughly enjoyed the day and would definitely recommend this tour!!

We enjoyed the free walking tour with Edin at 10:30am. He was very knowledgeable about the city’s history and open to answer any question. Of course this tour is also used to make some advertising for other tours or to give recommendations, which was still in an appropriate manner and didn’t bother us at all. However, tour claims to be max size of 30 people, while in fact no one cared and we were more than 30. Thus, we often blocked the whole street and by that felt uncomfortable. Would still recommend the tour to learn about the history, but anyone visiting Sarajevo should still look beyond (other districts than old town, outside the city etc.).

Eddie was a great tour guide. He has vast knowledge about Bosnian and balkan history and he is very passionate about telling the story of his country and city. Very much recommended to anyone who is interested to get to know Sarajevos story

Did a free walking tour with Edin today who has a wealth of knowledge! We got to see all the beautiful and important spots of Sarajevo, it was great. Sadly didn’t have time to do the Fall of Yugoslavia tour but next time!! Highly recommend!!

In short, I agree with all of the reviews, including that in the Lonely Planet guidebook, that this is a “professional outfit “ that anyone from abroad can use with confidence. I first contacted them by email regarding a transfer and tour from Sarajevo to Medjugorje. Not only were they very responsive and helpful, but while in Sarajevo I took their “free” walking tour as well as “Fall of Yugoslavia” tour. In each case I found them to be very informative, professional , well prepared. I will go so far as to say that the guide of their “Fall of Yugoslavia and siege of Sarajevo” tour was not only professional but her and the driver’s personal experience during the war was insightful and moving. Just like my experience with other Bosnians while traveling in the country , these folks are relaxed , capable, kind, and eager to perform well in their profession. I couldn’t recommend this company any more strongly. If you are a foreigner that is nervous about getting situated in Bosnia - they are the people to contact - from transfers from one place to another, to fully professional tours.

Great guide with personal experience of the conflict. Staff is very helpful. The fall of Yugoslavia tour is a must see, very well coordinated, a heartbreaking story told with passion and hope for the future.

This was the best decision I made in Bosnia. Our tour guide was Armina and she was incredible. So much knowledge, great English, great story telling, she shared real history not only book knowledge, I think she is a fantastic ambassador to the country. We also had the chance to try different authentic Bosnian food while we're walking around. We recommend Meet Bosnia and Armina especially to have the best possible introduction to this beautiful country.

One of the most impressive things we did on our travels through the Balkan was taking a tour through Sarajevo with a local guide. Peeling of the layers of history we really got a good glimpse of the turmoil this region has been through. We also had the most lovely woman guiding us through town, treating us with personal stories and some local bread.

  • 5/5 Ellie J. 2 years ago on Google
Very informative tours with exceptionally warm guides. Ours gave us a very personal view into her life in Sarajevo - the good, bad and hopeful. We were greeted with snacks and left the tour with a friendly hug. Such nice women operating this company. I highly recommend.

We joined a free walking tour (pay on tips) with Armin and it was a fantastic experience. Really loved the detailed explanation on history and culture of Bosnia and enjoyed Armin's very good sense of humor. The tour was about 2 hour and we signed up for another tour the next day. Our Sarajevo trip can't be more perfect and all thanks to the great tour. Strongly recommend to everyone!

Had a wonderful experience with Armeen (Armin) today on the Fall of Yugoslavia trip. He was very knowledgeable on the history of the region especially the war of 92-95 . I was the only one on the tour so got 100% attention. Excellent communication and I recommend everyone to take this tour if they are visiting Sarajevo and want to know about the resilience and struggles of Bosnians. The story of Tunnel of hope is one you can’t miss if visiting Sarajevo. Armeen also gave me recommendations on local food scene. Highly satisfied and much more informed about Bosnia now.

This is the best travel tour experience that I have ever had in my life, I have done two tours with the agency, and I highly recommend it to all of you, because of their kindness, generosity, willingness to really go above and beyond, demonstrating what Bosnian hospitality is like, as there is a famous saying in Islam, all visitors are angels from God, they really do treat you like angels. Free Walking Tour Ahmed was our tour guide, he took us to many amazing spots in the Old Town for 2 hours, if you want the details, you could find out in some other reviews. I recommend you to do it first thing after arriving in Sarajevo, as it gave me a comprehensive overview of the old town of Sarajevo. Please do remember to tip generously if you can, don't forget all the tour guides do have to eat and have families to feed. Fall of Yugoslavia Tour Following the amazing experience of the Free Walking Tour, I signed up for this tour over WhatsApp (which is amazing by the way, as we mostly use WhatsApp rather than making actual phone calls nowadays, also some travellers only have WiFi, so can't call local numbers). Armina was our tour guide, we were a small group of 6 people with a dedicated driver and air conditioned modern mini van (all these for a fair price of 25 euros). We went to the Yellow Fortress, an abandoned hospital, the Tunnel of Hope, then up the mountain to see the Olympic Race Tracks and the view of the city, which would be very difficult for an ordinary traveller to go to all these spots within 4 hours. During the car journey, Armina also introduced all the important landmarks to us en route. As it is a small group, it had a really friendly atmosphere, Armina is also a very sincere and genuine person (I don't want to use "guide" as it seems to dehumanise her), she shared her own experience of living in Sarajevo during the siege, as well as her personal experience working at an NGO to heal different communities after the war will us. I could tell Armina really treated us as old friends and really keen to share her life story with us, rather than just following a script and doing her job. This was such an immersive experience, way more memorable than just a guided tour, it is an experience that would leave a mark on your heart and soul for life. Above and Beyond As you would expect, at the end of every tours, the guide would always say "let us know if there's anything else we could help", but not everyone can live up to that promise, today, I can confirm that I am very fortunate to have met Meet Bosnia, as they do truly fulfill that promise, rather than just empty words. Long story short, I wanted a "Siege of Sarajevo" map as a souvenir, but was unable to find it in the old town, so I asked them if their guide who will be guiding the next "Fall of Yugoslavia" tour be able to pick one up for me (as it is being sold at Tunnel of Hope). Adnan picked that up and delivered to me, it really made my day and I was over the moon. Thank you very much Edi and Adnan, I am very grateful for your help!

Today we did the 4 hour tour with Armin and it was amazing. He was professional, very good at explaining and was also kind. Could not recommend this enough! Afterwords we got recommendations for restaurants and bakery’s, it was great.

his was one of THE BEST walking tours I’ve ever been on. Edin, the owner and our guide, was not only personable, but a true local-through out the walk he ran into many people he knew. As we walked he told us about historical facts at each location, fun-facts and attempted to connect our individual knowledge base about Bosnia, specifically Sarajevo, to help us all truly experience our walking tour through Old Town Sarajevo. We successful made it to each highlighted point along our walk and even had moments for Q&A throughout. If you’re dropping by Sarajevo for a short trip or plan to stay awhile I HIGHLY recommend the Meet Bosnia Old Town walking tour. FYI they have many more touring options so PLEASE check out their website. Also, I have a gluten sensitivity, Edin was able to tell me about local establishments like his Dad’s restaurant and No Gluten Factory where I could get traditional Bosnian meals and dessert! Erin’s is the best!!!!!! Old Town Sarajevo Tour highlights: Old Orthodox Church Baščaršija Square – Sebilj Foutain Oldest Street in Sarajevo Sarajevo City Hall Caravan Saray – Morića Han Gazi Husrev-bey’s Mosque and Clock Tower Meeting of Cultures Spot Jewish Synagogue Cathedral of Sacred Jesus’ Heart Sarajevo Roses Hotel Europe Assasination Spot – Latin bridge

Excellent! We did the “Fall of Yugoslavia tour one day, which at 25 Euros was great value (it’s aprox 4 hours, in a minibus, with stops) and then did the free Sarajevo walking tour the following day (about 2 hours) Both guides were studying History degree’s, and from the city. They both mixed some good local/personal stories, with a thoughtful, informative knowledge of the city, and it’s history. The Fall if Yugoslavia tour focuses in the 90’s conflict and siege of the city, and the tour guide explained carefully the situations that lead to the war and offered balanced perspectives on how the country lives today. Both guides (and the driver on the Fall tour) had in depth knowledge, were happy to answer questions and the pace was just right, they also mixed in a few humorous anecdotes along the way, and there are some spectacular views to take in. All the staff are friendly and professional - really highly recommended. The guide on the walking tour also pointed us in the direction of a music shop, we’d been hunting for - too marks all around!

My boyfriend and I visited Sarajevo last week and we had such a great time especially thanks to our two incredible guides. We spent our first morning in the city taking a free walking tour (HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!) with Edin, who is an absolute delight. He had an answer for every question and a piece of advice for everyone. He took us to the most iconic spots of Sarajevo and told us about its extensive history. His personal experience made ours unforgettable. Since we liked the walking tour so much, we booked the Fall of Jugoslavia tour for the following day. Adnan took us for this one and he's such a great guy. When you listen to him it feels like you're reading a history book. He knows a lot and made it possible for us to have an in depth understanding of what lead to the '92-'95 war. He took us to the Yellow Bastion, to the Tunel Spasa and to the abandoned bobsled track, just to mention a few places. If you ever visit Sarajevo, make sure you take a tour here because it is really, really worth it! I hope to be back in the future 😄

Ask to do the „Fall of Yugoslavia“ tour with Adnan! He showed us all the relevant sites in the city with a huge background knowledge, able to answer our questions and relating to the people/nationalities on the tour with a personal touch. He seems very caring about his country. Very touching and informative experience - would book again immediately!

Best free walking tour I've done! It lasted 2 hours more or less and we were a group of 7 strangers. This tour is a gem, we got to try 2 Bosnian pastries for free and visited a metal workshop without being even slightly pressured to purchase anything at all. The history was so interesting and it was great making friends with the other guests. Highly recommend this tour especially for solo travellers Please tip them they deserve it!
