On the Trebvic mountain, where the 1984 Winter Olympics were held in Sarajevo, there is the wreck of the old bobsleigh track, now abandoned and disused but covered in brightly colored murals. You can reach it by car and after parking it takes another 10 minutes. walk to reach the site. Now the path, still intact, is used for walking or as an unsafe cycle path.

Such a cool walk down the bobsled track. We walked back down to Sarajevo, but it might have been better to walk back up the track and have paid for the round trip on the cable car as my wife's knees hurt for a few days walking downhill - sometimes quite steep - for a few kilometres, plus the roadway was being worked on and we ended up with very muddy shoes.

It's interesting to see the dimensions of such a track. We took the cable car up and then walked back to Sarajevo. It's a short hike that's quite steep at times but definitely worth seeing. Some graffiti is absolutely awesome!

I love the Olympics and try to visit old Olympic sites whenever possible. I usually find it kind of sad when a stadium etc has been left to ruin but this is the exception to the rule. It's a grafitti artist dream and there is something kind of cool walking all the way down the track. I'd really recommend visiting here if you are in anyway interested.

Very sad relic of the '84 Olympics, well worth seeing. We went up with the cable car and then first walked down the bobsleigh run. From the destination point, a pleasant hiking trail leads back into the city.

Echoes of Olympic Glory: The Abandoned Bobsled Track in Sarajevo Nestled amidst the picturesque mountains of Sarajevo lies a haunting reminder of a bygone era - the abandoned bobsled track that once echoed with the cheers of athletes and spectators during the 1984 Winter Olympics. Walking along the overgrown path, one can't help but feel a profound sense of nostalgia and melancholy for the days when this track was alive with the spirit of sportsmanship. The decaying concrete structure, covered in graffiti and moss, stands as a testament to the passage of time. Despite its dilapidated state, the bobsled track exudes a strange kind of beauty. Nature has begun to reclaim what was once man-made, with vines and wildflowers adorning the track, creating an eerie yet enchanting atmosphere. Exploring the track is a surreal experience. As you wander through the curves and turns, you can almost hear the distant echoes of athletes speeding down the icy lanes, their determination palpable in the crisp mountain air. The graffiti, though unauthorized, adds a touch of vibrant color to the somber surroundings, offering a glimpse into the creativity of the human spirit amidst decay. From a historical perspective, this abandoned bobsled track is a poignant reminder of the resilience of the people of Sarajevo. It survived the ravages of war and conflict, standing as a silent witness to the city's tumultuous past. For those interested in history and urban exploration, this site is a must-visit, providing a unique opportunity to reflect on the passage of time and the transience of human achievements. However, it's essential to approach this site with respect and caution. The crumbling infrastructure poses safety risks, and visitors should be mindful of their surroundings while exploring. Additionally, efforts to preserve and protect this historical landmark should be undertaken, ensuring that future generations can continue to appreciate its significance. In conclusion, the abandoned bobsled track in Sarajevo is a captivating and bittersweet destination. It invites visitors to reflect on the ephemeral nature of human endeavors while celebrating the enduring spirit of a city that has weathered numerous storms. It stands as a poignant reminder of the power of resilience and the importance of preserving our shared cultural heritage.

It's an old bobsled track from the Olympics. Now it's abandoned but you can still visit the track. It's not worth it to specially see it, but a combination with the abandoned snipershouse it's a good go. If you're by car google gps whill navigate you to the abandoned sled, but in fact you can't drive further than a certain point. You have to walk a steep path the last 800 metre. The roads are loose stones and very narrow. At some point 2 cars cannot pass.

Be warned, google maps took us the long way from centar thru rally roads and narrow suburban streets. But it was well worth it and hubby being the urban photographer took alot of great photos. Excuse my novice skills!

Downhill is also easy to do with a stroller (getting in is a bit complicated), but uphill is of course much more strenuous. Great experience, highlight of our stay in Sarajevo.

A foggy gloomy day visiting the abandoned Olympic bobsled track. Its quite forlorn and must have been an awesome ride back then. Worth visiting as it's history.

Back in the old Yugoslavia days, Bosnia used to be actually something important since they were open to the West. So by going up to Trevic, one can see all those nice places used during the Olympics. Nowadays though, there are trees everywhere in the place, but still looks sick for photos.

The entire track has been turned into somewhat of a graffiti art exhibition, and it's a really cool trek down the pipe. Just enjoying the painted colors against the grey and drab ambience of abandonment is really something.

We visited in winter when it had snowed so it was just fabulous. Sadly it was also foggy so we couldn’t experience the views. The bob sleigh track is covered in graffiti but still pretty cool. Lots of walks to do up there. We drove, parked and walked as we had a dog (dogs need a muzzle on the cable car and we didn’t have one ).

Sarajevo Olympic Park is worth visiting. You can take a lift to the top and its a short walk down to this track. You cant drive to this park, roads are very narrow and not easy to navigate. Walking to this park is best way.
