When you’re thinking about the worlds most spectacular railway lines you immediately think about the Central Railway in Peru, crossing the Swiss Alps or the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway. But have you ever thought about Iran? You may have heard about the ‘190 Railway Operating Company’ which emptied shiploads of mainly oil-fired 8Fs into Iran to master the Trans-Iranian Railway, delivering war materials to Russia in WW II. The Trans-Iranian Railway connects the Persian Gulf with the Caspian Sea via Tehran and, in achieving that, it needs to climb and fall more than 2,000 metres leaving one sea and repeat this to arrive at the other sea.

Absolutely marvelous bridge! Masonry arch bridge 110 meters tall that serves Trans_ Iranian railway network in northern Iran. This is a master piece of engineering because there is not any steel used to construct this bridge and this is more than 85 years old. The bridge had used for transport allies troops during second world war and named the bridge of victory by them.

Very beautiful bridge, it's one of the most important segments of Iran railway as it connects the southern parts to the north. With lenght of 112 meters and 110 meters of elevation from the ground below, It was built in Reza Shah's reign by teams of engineers from a danish consortium which included many Italian engineers. Arch of the bridge is visible from distance. Entrance fees are fair and there's a small buffet and supermarket near the bridge. It's worthy to note that the bridge is still functional after almost 100 years from it's construction.

One of the biggest bridge in all over the world with 110 metes hight & 66 meters arch long. In my opinion it is the symbol of "CAN DO" and state of the art in that time even now. God bless Reza Shah.

The Veresk bridge opened in December 1935. The bridge is one of the masterpieces of the Danish engineering firm Kampsax, consisting of Danish, German, and Austrian engineers like Ladislaus Von Rabcewicz as well as Italian civil construction art serving the Trans-Iranian railway network in Northern Iran. The scaffolding below the bridge was built because, at the time, there was no large machinery to hold the construction materials of the bridge at that height. So, the scaffolding itself is also worthy of praise.

This bridge was built uniquely in its time. And the communication route of the train is from Versk Strait. Like this unique bridge, it was built in the city of Qotur, which was one of the most unique structures of its time. And so far not much has changed. The warranty of this bridge at the time of construction is approximately 70 years.

Veresk bridge is one of the largest nationwide railway bridges in Iran, which is located in the heights of Veresk village, 27 km south of Pol Sefid city, in Swadkoh city, Mazandaran province. This bridge, which is considered one of the engineering masterpieces, was commissioned by Reza Shah in 1315. Versk Bridge, which connects Tehran-North National Railway, was built at a height of 110 meters from the bottom of the valley with a 66-meter span and with basic equipment. Versk is one of the strategic bridges of Iran, which was built by the Danish company Compsax with a 70-year guarantee.
