Do not go to this place ever! The owner was the most disrespectful person in the world. He let us waiting for 45 minutes outside while giving tables to two other groups that arrived later than us. He pretended that he didn’t speak English. Worst customer service in Naples. While we wait other people also left because the waiter kept on saying to everyone that the timing for a table was 20 minutes. I hope those people would make also a post. PLACE TO AVOID if you want to be treated well !!!!

You pay for the specific, Italian experience, not for the food itself which is so so (mac and cheese plus mashed potato, really, not worth it for 7 EUR) and quite expensive. But how the owner treats other non Italian customers it's really rude. While we were eating (and breathing a lot of exhaust fumes), we saw that he was giving the tables not to the people who were waiting the longest but to the other parties that arrived later (maybe Italians?). To sum it up, unfortunetely, I can not recommend this place.

Cute little spot, more in a hidden tuck away area. Owner was very sweet. No English. Food items on menu does have English translation. Octopus salad was amazing, super fresh and tender. Tiramisu was yummy! Everything was great. Fair value 47 euros for 1 appetizer, 2 pastas, 1 veg, 1 meat, 1 dessert and water.

If you happen to be in Napoli for some days you must come to this place with your company. Order a drink and you'll get much more than that.

We loved this place! The owner is so kind and friendly and speaks various languages. We truly enjoyed interacting with him. The spaghetti con polpo is fantastic as well as the parmigiana. Scallopina is great as well. We tried a local white wine from Pompeii that was very nice and refreshing. A great meal overall! There are also cured meats, cheeses, and other high-quality food products available for purchase.

I searched for an Italian family restaurant until I stumbled upon Da Maria in the Spanish Quarter. It perfectly matched my expectations for simple, authentically executed classic Italian cuisine. La Maria boasts a dedicated family team eager to cater to every customer's palate. The restaurant's popularity among locals speaks volumes, and their use of consistently fresh ingredients, prepared with skill and passion, enhances the gastronomic authenticity. Grateful to those who delighted our taste buds today.

Most friendly and helpful host , who although didnt speak much English was the best! We were just passing and felt hungry, stopped and received the most perfect antipasto you could ask for. I went inside pointed at various items and named what I could + wine ofcouse and received a great plate of most delicious treats one can ask for :)

Discovered this place by chance as it was next to our b&b, we spent a lovey evening, inside there is only two tables so first come, first served. We had different kind of cheeses, prosciutto and mozzarella, and the pasta patate, everything was delicious, kids got sausages, and they loved it too. Gino was very nice and spent some time talking to us and the other family after dinner. Thanks for the lovely evening.

Fantastic. Amazing, literally, home cooked meal. They don't have a kitchen in the place so Gino's mother cooks it at her house across the street. Our cheese and meat taglieri was brought down from a balcony in a bucket and rope. Very friendly and accommodating.

Delicious! Some of the seafood dishes like the spaghetti with polpo are cooked by the owner’s mom at her home kitchen upstairs. When the dish is ready, it is brought down via a pulley system. Friendly owner and a fun location for people watching too.

Great quality food and wine! Real homemade food, we ordered a pasta and we were amazed by the way it was served to the table. Awesome ricotta e pere.

Da Maria’s Genovese pasta is excellent and I also enjoyed the sausage with brace. In a city competing for culinary attention, Da Maria much deserves the high ratings it’s receiving and I will recommend it to anyone I know who plans to visit Napoli.

Lovely lunch, really wonderful food and very friendly staff. Definitely worth a stop, and the bill includes 2 bottles of wine

When in Naples, we had the best time at "Da Maria". We enjoyed our Aperol (without soda as they taught us, and it was SO good) and a lovely charcuterie board full of local products.

Incredible food in a lovely street side restaurant in Naples. The staff are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is really chilled. The carbonara is worth the hype, if you're a fan of it like I am you have to try it from here, one of the best I have ever had. 2 mains, 2 desserts plus two rounds of beer and wine for €51! Absolute bargain!

Wonderful small bistro with excellent food. Great service too. Quite a bit of traffic around us, but not the restaurant's fault. Would absolutely go back. Best gnocchi I've ever had.

Absolutely wonderful. I can’t recommend this enough. The amazing Gino cooked the best spaghetti I’ve ever eaten: spaghetti alle vongole. Bread was super tasty and so was the mozzarella and prosciutto. Go there for a tasty homemade meal, you won’t regret it!!

This is the nr. 1 most fantastic restaurant in Naples. I cannot even describe how amazing our experience was. The food is absolute top quality, cooked by the mother of the owner. The owner was so kind. The whole experience was magical.

Found this place looking online for great pasta. We’ve been eating pizza for lunch and pasta for dinner 🙄. Highly recommend the pasta here. Carbonara and Gnocchi.

Probably the best pasta I ever had! And the best cuts of meat that melts in your mouth. Definitely recommend!

A true gem in the heart on Naples. Make sure you get early as it gets busy quickly. Really home made delicious food with a relaxed unpretentious feeling and reasonable prices. Absolutely delicious

We have been there today for lunch and it was soo delicious. We had vegetarian antipasti and pasta. One of the best food in Italy we ate! Also the staff was very friendly and helped us with our decision. Big recommendation!!!

This is a very authentic place, cheese and ham platters are good. Pasta dishes are very homie and good. The only thing is that you don’t get to see a menu or know how much are you going to pay at the end, that for what we expected was a bit overpriced. We paid in more scenic places for a family of 4 less than in this restaurant with no view and limited places

The spaghetti with octopus is absolutely delicious!! Must try! Reasonable prices and the owner is a really nice guy :) The restaurant wasn't open at 10:30am as suggested on GMaps so we waited until around 11am to be seated. No complaints it was worth the wait.

The place is really cute, but the food is very bland. The mussels pasta also had a ton of loose shell bits that made the whole thing very grainy which was really unpleasant.

We stopped in for lunch and finished a bottle of wine with our fantastic meal. We had proscuitto and mozarella, lasagna, and spaghetti with clams. The owner was super friendly and welcoming, we loved eating here for our first meal in Naples. It set the bar very high.

I had a carbonara, zuccini, a piece of meat with lemon and a Glass of wine. Everything was so delicious! Perfectly seasoned. I paid 27 euro which is a fair price in my opinion. The service was nice.

I found by chance this spot while walking around the city center in search of an authentic "pasta e patate" (one of my favorite local traditional dishes). I was so lucky to stumble into this very gracious bistrot packed with authentic produces and amazing scents. There were no tables available inside and on the premise, but we were happy to take the one closer to the road, which turned out as you can see from the image as the spot with the best view. We had amazing cured meat, aubergines and "friarelli" accompanied by a nice bottle of Aglianico suggested by the very kind owner. And then, we were treated with the very best "pasta e patate" (pasta with potatoes) I had in my life. Very kind and attentive personnel, fair prices and amazing food. If you are around, avoid tourist traps and get a true taste of the local cuisine here

Incredible restaurant. Tiny place with only a few tables. Gino, the owner, is a legend. Super friendly and welcoming. Also does all the amazing cooking. Carbonara and spaghetti vongole were both excellent. Really nice wine as well. This place is a proper gem.

Myself and my partner went after seeing great reviews on Google. It lived up to expectations. The food took a little longer to arrive than other restaurants we tried in the local area but you could tell that's because everything was prepared fresh for you. I got the mussel pasta which was incredible. The person serving us was extremely friendly and you could tell he really cared about the food from his expression when we were eating. My only disappointment was that the food was so good, filling and rich I couldn't manage to eat any desert.

The owner(?) At least I'm pretty sure he was the owner, was fabulous! The food was incredible! We were looking for small family owned restaurants to eat at when traveling and there are many in this neighborhood, but so far this one has been the best experience! The tiramisu was the best we've ever had! Overall a great local experience!

Probably our favourite meal in Napoli. It didn't even matter that the charming host forgot some of our order, when it eventually arrived it was delicicious and worth the extra wait! House wines were good value and good quality. This is a simple / cute family business, passed on from mother to son. She still pops in (aged over 80!), just to make sure it's all running ok 👍🏼

So...fantastic family restaurant with very very warm owners. All food is really tasty and you have to taste everything.

Quite tasty octopus linguine! The waiter seemed quite confused with our order, even though it was pretty simple (pointing at the menu). Never got the zucchini that I ordered, unfortunately (probably due to the confusion of the server). He even came back out to confirm it, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. The owner was very kind and hospitable - and he spoke English very well. Although, it is a very tiny place and you should expect to wait a while for your food. The mixture of the size of the place and the laid back (slow) nature of the Italian culture here makes for a solid wait. So if you have the time to kick back for at least an hour, I'd recommend this place. Definitely not for a rushed meal though!

Such a quaint family owned restaurant! I was having a hard time finding a place that would let me take out dinner— the owner of the restaurant (the sole chef) was kind enough to serve me after he served everyone else at the restaurant. Also, the food is really good. Loved the gnocchi! Made a reservation and came back for dinner a couple of days later.
