(Translated by Google) This museum is simply Fantastic! It is the largest open air museum in Latin America! Inhotim is charming from the moment you arrive, with its benches that are a true work of art, the museum has an ecological park and good gastronomic spaces! The best award-winning Chefs are here! The museum has works of contemporary art and can be accessed by electric carts, which have a separate cost, but are super worth it! I visited the Inochi Museum in December and was greeted by sunny weather and pleasant temperatures. Highly recommend getting the ticket that includes transportation due to the vast area of the museum, making it easier to explore. The natural surroundings offer a serene escape from the city’s hustle and provide a refreshing contrast to the urban landscape of central Belo Horizonte. It’s an inspiring way to spend a day, surrounded by beauty and tranquility. Plus, there are some great coffee shops on-site for a relaxing break. Definitely worth a visit!

Wow! This place is amazing. There is so much to see and the quality of art is fantastic. We spent the day here, arriving from BH on the pre-booked shuttle that leaves from outside the Holiday Inn. We didn’t use the buggy transport, instead opting to walk around. The grounds are huge and there are so many galleries that we only just managed to fit everything in to our day. Keep your eyes open for wildlife. We saw a rattlesnake, coatis, lizards and toucans. They really added to the day. You can’t take food in but we enjoyed burgers at one of the cafes.

I love it here, and I will definitely come back. I bought a two day ticket, which is enough to see most of the exhibits. I also bought the ticket to use the golf carts for one day, as there are some points that are further into the park. I knew I would be doing a lot of walking, so it was worth it. There is so much to see here and experience. A lot of thought and consideration went into every installation. Some exhibits are outside, and some things are in various buildings. There is a botanical garden with a variety of stingless bees, which was one of my favourite things to see here. You will have so many beautiful areas to walk around or to sit and relax. Sadly, some exhibits were closed while I was here. The photos do not do it justice. You have to come here and see it for yourself. I recommend at least a 2 day ticket with a golf cart ticket. Bring water and sun protection. Wear comfy walking shoes. You can buy food and drink here. Make sure you grab a map when at the reception.

Inhotim is an overwhelmingly amazing experience. It combines Sight-seeing, commune with Nature and Watching of every possible aspect of Contemporary Artistic Expressions (maybe to the exception only of Theatre and Dance)... Painting check, Installations check Conceptual Art check Sculpture check Photography check Architecture check Gardening and Urbanism check Video and Cinema check Auditory Impressionism check All that set on a very improbable location, on a former farm / minerals mining property turned into an open landscape exhibition area, spread throughout acres and acres of tropical gardens, fountains and lakes, by the initiative and vision of a once rich heir of a family fortune who went bankrupt while pursuing his dream of an open skies art collection, that became opened to the public in exchange for part of his debts with the government.

I live in London and I studied Fine Art at university, this is the best Art gallery I have ever been to. If you can, go and see the art here! I came midweek and the place was empty. Most galleries I had to myself and the park was great to walk around. I don’t think the golf cart transport ticket is needed. I made it around the whole park in 1 day. It’s a lot of walking but the green scenery and manicured gardens are great to look at. Highly recommend and one of the best things I saw in Brazil. It’s easy to get to taking the special museum bus from Belo Horizonte bus station. Details are on the imhotim website.

(Translated by Google) I love this place. Very well taken care of. Wonderful gardens. A museum that makes you proud to know you are in Brazil. Inhotim is a really inspiring place. When I visit (I have already been 2x), I am more in touch with the effects that art and landscaping have on me, but this time I went with the aim of accompanying my wife who did not know the place. I noticed a wonder in her eyes and attitudes. The pace of the other visitors seemed to be slower, as if struck and stunned by so much beauty and feeling condensed in the works, and a posture of reverence and humility, which seemed to come from the notion of their own size in contrast to the grandeur of nature and human issues. profound images portrayed in the works. Visiting Inhotim makes us more human, more aware of art and nature. (Original) Amo esse lugar. Muito bem cuidado. Jardins maravilhosos.

Incredible place. It would take a week to appreciate everything. The gardens alone take at least a day. The galleries and outdoor art are a magnificent collection. A jewel of Brasil.

I felt two days was enough at a very leisurely pace without using golf carts. This is spoken as a botannical and art enthusiast, with time to sit through video pieces. There is affordable food onsite (R$20-35). The food options in Brumadinho leave much to be desired. I recommend staying in Belo Horizonte and catching the 3783, 3784, 3788, or 3789 busses from 471 Avenida Amazonas to get to the museum. The cost is only R$10 each way. If you are visiting on the weekend Inhotim actually runs a shuttle service as well, you can find the necessary information through their website. I stayed in Brumadinho and sincerely regretted it because of the limited tourism infrastructure and lack of options of activities outside of the museum hours. Great place to visit!

This is a sensational museum. We can feel modern art world with all of our 5 senses. Admission fee is only 50BRL per adult, 25B RL per kids for 1 day. There have a lot of outside artworks and more than 20 architectures that have inside artworks. It is very tough if you complete to see all artworks. But even 1day, I’m sure you can enjoy a lot. Even kids, they can enjoy and don’t forget to visit here. There are English guidance all places.

One of the most unique and incredible museums, not just that I’ve seen in Brazil or South America but the world. Part botanical gardens, sculpture park, and gallery it’s easy to spend all day here to cover everything but two days needed to cover everything detail. There are over twenty galleries and dozens of sculptures. Recommend getting the internal cart transport to save time on longer routes and try out the Pão de Queijo at the cafe by the entrance. A king day needed to explore but worth it!

This place was more than as I expected. It has multiple galleries/artwork points inside in which will take your breath away with the sight of nature. I recommend to give the whole day to walk around. However, carts are also available to roam around. Staffs are friendly and welcoming. Don't forget to bring your ID and vaccine card if any, which will be needed before entering the premise.

Lugar maravilhoso.

Is a terrific place to visit, and well worth to it even if it's a little bit out of the way. The art is interesting, but I thought that the gardens were much more beautiful than some of the contemporary pieces. There is free entry on Wednesdays, but often attracts bit of a crowd so get here early. Also, if you're on a budget make sure that you bring food with you. The food here is ridiculously expensive, even the "cheap" options.

Really a nice place to visit for a full day. Between a botanical garden and an art museum, with different galeries to visit for pictures, paintings, sculptures, music, video or surrealism experiences. A wide area to explore that seems to large for just one day. Good for people that like to take long walks, but if you are not there are electrical carts that you could take to jump from one place to the other.

Was an amazing experience to visit this Open air museum. From the architecture, to Gallery’s and great food. This is a must go if your near the area. Did a full day and wasn’t able to see everything. 100% going to plan more trips here to finish seeing it all. Suggest reserving a exclusive golf cart way ahead. We thought we could get them same day but they were sold out. Even with the golf cart I feel as if you can spend multiple days here. Also would want to come back in different seasons as the park has so much vibrant plant life that I’m sure the seasonal changes are worth seeing multiple times. Staff was very helpful, everything was clean, and the food is top notch.

The most beautiful museum and botanical garden. With several installations of contemporary artists and a natural showroom of tropical plants this is a must visit place if you’re anywhere near, such as in Belo Horizonte. On Wednesday the entry is free, so you can save R$40 and use it in their gift store which has some cute stuff. Go early to make the most of your visit. From Belo Horizonte there is one direct bus that takes 2 and a half hours. Check it’s route and hours through google maps.

Amazing place! Completely different experience to visit a place to see art in a outdoor space. Inhotim is a unique place, that is definitely a worth visiting. Awesome gardens, breathtaking art galleries, and an amazing story of how all this was created, by a man, Bernardo, that started its own collection and ended donating it all so that more people could see what he created. Don’t wait, come and visit, I am sure you will agree with me!!

Absolutely gorgeous museum located 2 hours out of Belo Horizonte. Prices are reasonable but be prepared to walk a lot! If you are going there you may find yourselves well to start with the pink and yellow trails in the area. Minor gripe is that there are no directional signs within the park so you’d have to rely on your own navigational skills.

Disappointing... It is beautiful but difficult to say it is a museum. Most of the art pieces exposed I can't consider art. It's a nice place to walk, although it is very artificial. Maybe it is just my personal opinion, but I do not plan to visit it again.

Inhotim is my most favorite place in the hole world. Most of museums are in closured spaces but Inhotim is also a beautiful park with lakes, vegetation, Brazilian beautiful sky. It's like you are separated from the world and everything is so amazing that you just need to live there. You can breathe art, interact with it, take your kid, your grandmother. Just go. Oh, and it will take your hole day. They have restaurants and places to buy snacks. Have fun!

If you love either one or other (or both), centainly, this is the place. For a fast visit, one day is enough. If you want to fell and enjoy the place, I recomend two days, at least, on foot.

(Translated by Google) One of my favorite places in Minas. It is extremely charming and certainly a single visit will not be enough to visit. It is a place that renews its energies! And you can be sure that if you choose to lie on the grass and watch one of the lakes it will have been worth it. I went twice and I intend to return for sure because there is still a lot left without knowing. Tips: on Wednesdays it's free! The ideal is to go early, when you open and leave close to closing time. Take a bottle, if you are going to explore the place, you will feel thirsty but there are several points with drinkers where you can fill your bottle. You can also take the charger because there are also several outlets available. I would also take some light snack because the restaurants are long distance and generally the price is a little steep. If you are going to eat, I suggest the café das flores which has affordable prices and some varieties of savory, cheese bread, baião de dois and juices. Oh, and be sure to download a map on the site to assist with your visit. Also on the website are the galleries that are closed for maintenance on the day. Enjoy! Aproveite!

(Translated by Google) Cacilds. This train is fine. I met in August 2018. I had heard about it for years and always wanted to know this wonderful museum and on the same trip to Capitólio and Serra da Canastra I went to Brumadinho afterwards. How amazing this place is. How much art and botany. Organized and reasonably clean. I walked on foot with the help of a map and you really can't get to know it in a single day. The galleries with their exhibitions are magnificent. It is surprising to enter them and have 3 of our 5 senses sharply aroused. And 4 of them when visiting the various gardens. There are places in Brazil that every Brazilian citizen should strive to visit at least once in his life and the Inhotim Institute is undoubtedly one of these. Recommendations: -You walk a lot and have uphill. So get ready with fitness and proper shoes. -Inquire if any gallery or artwork is under maintenance or missing and mark on the map to plan your best route. The map may not be up to date. - There are drinking fountains, but bring a container (squezze or bottles) to take your water. - Have a hearty breakfast. (Original) Cacilds.

Incredible, a mixture of museum and botanical garden. Well worth visiting Brazil just to spend a couple of days exploring Inhotim. The family and I loved every second of our day at this wonderful open air art gallery. Totally different from any other place in Brazil or the world. Here visitors are free to walk, or ride on carts, to explore this "new wonder of the world". There are tour guides to assist or you can create your own itinerary. Along the way there are top quality restaurants and snack bars to satisfy even the most demanding costumers. I found it very clean and well maintained. Which is quit unusual for Brazil. With the aid of a tour map anyone can have a day of adventure exploring the details that make Inhotim one of the best museums of its class.

  • 5/5 Paulo P. 5 years ago on Google
Inhotim is a museum of museums and gardens. It's a truly unique experience. It's incredibly focused on tiny details. Every building is a work of art of its own. The place is huge. They offer the alternative of visiting without buying the electric cart ticket. Buy it! You won't have time to see a lot if you don't. I also strongly recommend staying next to the museum so that you van visit at least two days in a row. I wish I could have stayed more than two days.

(Translated by Google) Culture in Brazil only works if it is elitist, expensive and in the vast majority white. Inhotim proves these factors several times with its abusive prices coming from an imaginary reality. In fact, it's a great ride. Those who can afford a lunch per kilo for 75 reais per person (since it is forbidden to take lunch boxes or have picnics inside the museum) + tickets, I strongly recommend. One point I would like to highlight is for beginners: Don't go with the thought that you will see everything the first time. The place is huge, and to get to the most famous works you will walk even paying the carts. On visitation during the pandemic: Nothing to complain about. The museum was notoriously changed to meet customer demand and protect them.

A wonderful place, with an odd landscape and everything is beautiful and well done: buildings, works of art, each path and road are thought and well done. Combining art with nature is a unique place to take children to learn and grow while playing. Very well organized considering the restrictions of the time of the pandemic, with safe options for leisure and food. Undoubtedly one of the best tourist spots in Brazil and the world. Unmissable!!! (Original) Impressionante!

Nice place to visit. If you get the trolley pass you might visit it on one day, otherwise walking the whole park takes a little bit under 2 days.

Almost 800 hectars of art and gardens. Impeccable maintenance - I've been in Brazil for a few years already and never seen such well-groomed gardens. The art exhibitions are fairly average - go straight to the one by Claudia. The place needs some 2-3 hours of your time.

(Translated by Google) Simply spectacular. Open-air works with very sensitive interactions, innovations and natural appeal, although regrettably having some works scrawled by spectators who are not respectful but in general the museum leaves nothing to be desired. Honor to have good investment initiatives in the cultural, artistic and botanical sector, as well as preservation of the natural forest, flora and fauna in the region. (Translated by Google) Very good experience. The internet was better than I expected at some points. Only access to the city is not very good, due to the poorly maintained roads of the state (which are not always state, some federal). And the ticket to Inhotim is not able to buy over the internet due to an error on the company's website, but at the ticket window it was easy, as I arrived in advance. Inhotim Museum is a fantastic opportunity to engage with nature whilst being immersed in art. Cannot fault anything about the facility, it is extremely well looked after and the staff are beyond helpful. Definitely worth a visit.

We took a bus from the central bus station (Rodoviaria) to Inhotim. We got our bus tickets and admission tickets before hand. Wonderful experience. Highly recommend paying for internal transit as well.

Wonderfull experience, a beautifull park full of botanical wonders. And then youre able to see such beautifull art as well in all the galleries. The food and drinks are on the pricy side and if You decide to buy a ticket without the driving option, expect to walk a lot. If youre into that its totally worth it. If youre not a hiker, id recommend spending more for the comfort of getting into the taxi from one gallery to the next. Its also more easy to see the whole park this way, on foot this isnt possible in one Day. Overall very good experience, a magical place.

Definitely worth your time and money when visiting Minas Gerais. The Museum contains a vast collection of large scale artwork. The galleries themselves are huge architectural feats and the designs are astonishing. Located inside of what was previously was a farm, Inhotim offers its visitors the contrast with the industrial developments of the cities that surround it. If you are not on the trekking shape, it is good advice to go on weekdays and to purchase the internal shuttle service. There are several galleries and artworks that are quite far apart and uphill. It is doable to see the whole museum in a day using the carts and arriving early. Eve during the pandemic, Inhotim was quite busy and required tickets far in advance. You will need a car to get there and go early because the road is not the best.

Great day out, every exhibition was unique and a great surprise, always playing with your senses. We had two kids (4 and 5) who enjoyed it too. Definitely get the cart to get you around the scheduled route. That would be too far for the kids without this and my put pressure on the day trip from belo horizonte. Good variety of food and drink outlets too and the rainforest and grounds are spectacular and well maintained. Highly recommend

really nice place to visit , you kind of need two days to see it all , on wednesdays is FREE ! so definitely try to go. and the location is very remote , so by car is the best option, but they have a shuttle bus kind of expensive but is a good option. The museums are great ! the park is really well care , the coffee shops, are kind of expensive but they are good, ( you can do a picnic inside with you own food ! so thats an option!)

A must do in Brazil! I recommend to go at least 1.5 days, or 2 days, as the park is huge and there are many incredible exhibitions. We were there for two days and selected the golf buggy option once- I feel that it isn’t worth it as you often have to wait 5 minutes for a buggy, which is the time it takes to walk. If you’re prepared to walk over 10000 steps during your visit, opt for walking :)
