Located in Palakkad this picturesque hill range is part of the Western ghats. Amazingly beautiful with elephants monkeys peacocks and other wildlife roaming around. Some people claim to have seen leopards. Most of the houses have electrified fences to keep out the wild elephants. In spite of these precautions the elephants resent the intrusion into their pristine habitat and knock down the fences to eat plantain, jackfruit and leaves. several houses coming up all over the hill side have successfully spoilef the hill side. The peace and quiet of the hill has to be experienced to be believed. In most places you will miss your internet which only adds to the charm.

Nice trekking area. There is a old building hidden inside the jungle which can be accessed with the help of authority. Time restriction for entry. Waterfall is a mesmerizing beauty. Overall good experience.

Dhoni Hills, located around 12 kms from Palakkad town, is a popular tourist destination in Kerala. With its misty mountains, a pristine waterfall Dhoni is a lush green tropical paradise which holds you to captivate in its rich natural beauty. An ideal place to watch the Mother Earth in different hues, tourists are attracted to Dhoni for the waterfalls situated inside the forest. You can also feel the majestic Western Ghats emerge in front of you as you reach near the entrance of Dhoni reserve forest.
