I honestly didn't expect restaurant quality food (and prices) in a place called "Taverna" on Bold street. The food was absolutely delicious and the place was so busy and buzzing, which is 100% justified. Absolutely delicious everything. Highly recommend.

I've visited Greek Taverna twice now and I have to say, I'm really impressed. Not only did they manage to seat us on an extremely busy, eat out to help out day, they also managed to serve us the food in very good time too. The food here is excellent. My table ordered several mains from across the menu and every single person left more than satisfied. You can honestly taste the quality and freshness in the food - it's clear no shortcuts have been taken by the chefs. The waiters here are also fantastic and they really take it upon themselves to give you the best experience possible. Finally, price wise, Greek Taverna is very reasonable and I can guarantee, most of their customers would agree with me. Highly recommend, it's one of the best restaurants on Bold St.

Not as special as advertised. The food is ok (generally not delicious, except one starter - goat cheese and spinach fritters) yet service isn’t where it needs to be. In particular the most senior waiter in front of house was missing his standards. It was a much better experience to be cared by two other people who were more junior but kinder and very careful, than from the more senior.

Food was really tasty and in large portions. Service was friendly and quick. Will definitely be returning and recommending to our friends!

Good ambience! Always a birthday celebration whenever we are here- it’s lovely how staff gets cheerful for these celebrations. Food was good, we ordered some chicken with cream and spinach which was a great choice. Their bread and dips are good too.

Understandable why this place has one of the highest ratings on both Google and Trip Advisor. I've been a few times now and it's so good everytime. The staff are friendly and very efficient. The atmosphere and decor is proper Greek. They do one of the best Mojitos I've ever had. Then there is the food which is so authentic. At least 5 or 6 of the dishes or top notch... Especially the mixed grill! If you can get a table go here!

Came here for Mums birthday. There were 3 of us. On a Wednesday its £13.99 for 2 courses all day. Made a reservation which is required as it was busy. The restaurant is very tidy. They tidy the tabless and disinfect them. You can't sit at a table until its done. We got the bread and dips and I gor the garlic mushrooms,. The bread and dips were lovely and fresh. The mushrooms were cooked perfect. For mains we had the chicken supreme, chicken kebab and I paid an extra £2 for chicken and lamb kebab. Included was handmade chips which were lovely. The lamb kebab was really tender. The chicken supreme was nice but the sauce was a bit rich. The portions were quite big but we ate it all. After eating the mains we were all full so didn't have a dessert. When I come again I wouldn't have the bread so I could have a dessert.

Fantastic food and staff, I definitely recommend it. The lamb was cooked to perfection and it was pretty big, 2 people could have that for sure. Dolmates were also very food, proper restaurant made food.

Very clean place, from the table to the decorative elements, which is always a good start. Just had a chicken kebab at about £15. Generous portions with those delicious Greek style chips. Kebab was very moist - I would personally have preferred a little more char- but that didn't detract from a great plate of food. Happily recommended

It was a nice place. Food was good but nothing special to be fair but portions were quite big (for some of you it might be and advantage). There were few vegan options which was nice but nothing from orginal Greek cuisine. We took starters(shared) and main dishes for 4 and it was too much.

One of the best Greek cuisine restaurants in Liverpool. Loved their ambience and service. The dishes taste good. I ate a mixed special kebab and the chicken and lamb served was so great. However the rice was a bit salty. Vegetarian options are limited and I found them a bit expensive for most dishes. They could provide a student discount though, as there are regularly lots of student customers.

Sad no Gluten Free options on the Inclusive Lunch Menu. Fabulous that they actually have a separate menu for "Gluten Free" but sad that you're then charged full al-la-carte price too!! We were attracted in for the £16.95/head lunch and it cost us £64...bit more than expected. Good food, pleasant staff. Nice Greek coffee, though the glass of tap water never came when requested. Good, clean toilets.

Lovely welcoming and attentive staff but unfortunately the food wasn't quite up to the same standards. The Dolmades didn't really taste of much and fell apart too easily. The Paidakia (lamb chops) were nice, but not superb especially given the price. The rice was very starchy and overcooked, no bite and all mush. The restaurant was very modern looking but also felt like a noisy bar more than a restaurant so conversation was difficult.

My staff and me just had the most amazing lunch from one of our customers ! The food was delicious, it’s quit new in Lower Breck Road called “Gobble up” we had lobster 🦞 and NO JOKE it was flipping marvellous !

Really impressed with this place! Restaurant looks beautiful. Portions were bigger than expected I ordered an early Bird menu, with one starter and one main and couldn't finish all the food. But also food was super delicious! Meat was super tender and juicy and everything just tasted lovely.

Delightful little Greek restaurant. Staff were attentive and you weren’t waiting around long. Food was so well cooked, the flavours in the sauce were just amazing. Nothing was too much or too little it was all perfect. Even the chips were some of the best I’ve had! The portions seem a little small but the richness of the food made sure it was filling enough. We did get starters with our meals as well, I definitely recommend trying the traditional food. It’s a cute place with nice clean decor and a warm atmosphere. Plenty of energy and lightness it was a lovely summery evening, I’ll be back for sure!

Nice and busy greek restaurant with very high quality service. The hot meze share starter with courgets, aubergines, grilled halloumi and meetball in spicy tomato sauce just a perfect start of the gastronomy journey. The chicken and lamb kebab with home made chips and fresh salad are amazing! Both meat are juicy and tender full with flavours. Beautifully presented big portion. The baklava dessert with fresh strawberry and ice cream a perfect close. The manager are always on the highest standards and team are very friendly and serv food quickly. Fully recommended.

Not the best meal I have had. Starters were nice and enjoyable with a selection order of Hummus, garlic mushrooms, olives, prawns, calamari. The main meals where disappointing. Reason for this was the meat which is grilled had zero flavour, all bland with no taste. We tried dips to coat the meat to give it flavour which didn't work. Overall disappointing and won't come back which is a shame. £160 between a party of 6.

Loved it in here, nice decor, staff really friendly, made us feel very welcome, well used restaurant, and after eating here , we know why!!! food was freshly cooked and delicious!!! We had the Tapas, and shared the 3 food choices between the 2 of us, there was plenty. Definitely going back here again. 👌

Phenomenal. The mains are *very* generous and delicious (I had the Moussaka and I absolutely recommend it), the starters were fantastic and the service was absolutely amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.

We had a lovely meal here the other night, we had to wait a while to be seated because our table wasn’t ready but we were given menus to look at in the meantime. The food was wonderful and all came out in good time. We ordered the tzatsiki, olives and grilled halloumi, which were all delicious (not so sure about the sweet chilli sauce with halloumi!). For mains, we had the mixed grill for 1 and mixed souvlaki for 1, it was delicious and there was so much food! We really tried our best as you can see! The staff were all very friendly and it was a really nice night overall :)

A solid restaurant. Attentive service and excellent knowledge of the menu. I visited two other places on this street during my trip to Liverpool. This place wins. A minor problem was dealt with courteously and the whole experience was awesome. Great value and full tummies.

All the restaurants are great and bold street continues to prove why lovely food and service can’t wait to be able to visit again . . Staff are excellent and very friendly. Felt very safe here. The portions and quality justify the price you pay. I would like to say that their customer service was superb quality, dead friendly guys and girls, fast, and efficient. The plate on the picture: Paidakia. Beautifully done lamb chops, tender and juicy. Garnish: fresh and crunchy salad, the best waged potatoes that I've ever taste in Liverpool, and some rice full of mediterranean flavours. I would highly recommend this 💎 in the middle of one of the most vibrant street of Liverpool. Hands down for all of them there!

Proper top meal from here today. Had the lamb curry with rice and peas. A very generous portion and excellent flavour too. The spice was a bit of a creeper lol but would definitely recommend to anyone, and will be eating from here again.

Absolutely superb place, but make sure you book in advance!! We saw sooooo many people turned away, as they were full...and with good reason. The staff were friendly, and really attentative. They even checked if you were happy with the meal (which could have e easily been overlooked as they were so busy). The wait times for each course was minimal, and the presentation and taste of all dishes was exceptional.

Restaurant is clean, staff are friendly, relatively large menu with classic Greek dishes, plenty of choices for drinks. Food is good quality and fresh prices are reasonable.

Thought it might be good as it was the only place that was busy. Great atmosphere, friendly, attentive staff and gorgeous food...huge portions. The teenagers had chicken nuggets from the children's menu🙄, so when eldest(15) heard that the portion was just 3, he decided to get a double portion...no need, the 3 were huge (probably a whole chicken breast all together), he only managed 1 extra off his second plate😂. Our tzatziki, stifado and lamb kebab were perfect, could have been in Greece. Will definitely be visiting again, next time we're in Liverpool.

I am known for giving honest ratings and views to places I have been to and yesterday i attended the Greek Taverna with 5 other adults as 2 of my neighbours/friends got married in the morning. We got to the Greek Taverna at 12pm when it opened and were welcomed in and shown to our table. First impressions on walking in where very good. Greek music playing and a lovely place on first impression. Service was absolutely spot on. Starters came and we all looked at each other and commented on how lovely they all looked and the sizes of the portions all looked good. The starters all tasted amazing and by now we couldn't wait for our main courses. The main courses arrived and WOW, the plates were full. The meals all looked so colourful and smelt gorgeous. I have never had Greek food before but got to taste things I never would have eaten. Out of the 6 of us, only one managed to eat everything. We were absolutely stuffed and all talking about how amazing the food was and how filling it was. We had Merlot with our meals and it was served as it should be. The bottle was brought to the table and shown to us, opened at the table and we were asked if we would like to taste it first. I tasted the first bottle and it was beautiful, the waitress then continued to pour each glass and she poured the bottle while it constantly being held in the correct position. This is the first restaurant I have been to where the bottle was held and served correctly. The restaurant was full by 1pm and the atmosphere in the place was lovely. I personally cannot fault the food or the service. My only down side would be to say that the toilets are downstairs so not really good for a wheelchair user. That is the only thing I can find a fault with and I feel awful for putting that as a fault. Would I attend here again? DEFINITELY A YES. Would i recommend it to family and friends? DEFINITELY A YES. This place is absolutely AMAZING! Manager found out our friends had just been married a few hours previously and brought out a beautiful afters for them with a sparkler in the top, turned the music up and the lights down and got them up to have their first dance as a married couple. Even the manager and a waitress danced together as well so our friends didn't feel uncomfortable. SO SO KIND OF THEM. THEY MADE THE MEAL END ON EVEN MORE OF A HIGH. THANK YOU SO MUCH. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN !!!!!!

Lovely place to eat, generous portions. We shared a 3 dish tapas offer and added one more dish. It was plenty for two. My husband had the chicken kebabs, rice, salad and chips which is generous and delicious. Gluten-free options are good, staff are clearly knowledgeable

Excellent lunchtime menu, good quality food served quickly. There is too much to eat, but absolutely no complaints. Very clean restaurant with quick service. Always a favourite when we visit Liverpool.

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch around 2pm. We were greeted and seated by a friendly host/server. The restaurant is bright with a very good variety of tables (for 2/4/6). We shared the Mini Vegetarian Meze and I then had the Chicken Feta Salad. Both of these were off the Early Bird Menu (£15.95). The food in one word was delicious. Well presented and appropriately prepared. Service was very good as well. Friendly and timely. Overall a really delightful experience. Will definitely stop in again when in town.

Really enjoyed our meal here! There was a bit of a wait (we took that as a good sign that they were so busy on a Tuesday) and the staff were helpful finding us somewhere outside to sit while we waited. Our food was super nice and the portions were very generous. There were loads of vegetarian options - would definitely go back for the tapas option to try more! Good mix of typical greek restaurant options and some more unusual items too.

We already knew that it was going to be good considering the reviews. The food was amazing, BIG portions for the amount that you pay - that is becoming rare nowadays - and the atmosfere was very on brand. Definitely a lovely space to go when in Liverpool.

The Greek restaurant was a great find in Liverpool. When we arrived it was full, which is a good sign, so we were taken to the bar and given a table a few minutes later. The food is good and in generous portions, so I couldn't finish everything, but was offered to take the rest of my spanakopita home. If in Liverpool looking for good food, fast service and good portions, visit the Greek taverna!
