Peaceful and unexpected place for a morning run near Boston Logan - you'd never suspect it!

Nice place to walk around, but very hot in the sun- not a lot of shady places to rest. The views of the marshes are beautiful, and it’s cool to see planes coming in so low.

This places look glorious under the cover of snow. The trail is not that obvious but with snow on it it’s not really important. Still water is icy, so you can see lots of ice flow on the water. There is a bridge and a small viewing house you can go up. The view is amazing from top too. The snow is a little deep in some places so waterproof shoes sometimes is not enough. But most of time just don’t worry about snow and walk on it directly.

Nice 45-minute walk around the salt marsh. Interesting place, enjoyed the views and the tower. Nice views of Boston skyline and Logan takeoffs.

A lovely place to stroll. The salt-water marsh is completely different terrain than just a few miles away. It's a nice place to go for a walk and spot wildlife.

Great place to walk, many rabbits and squirrels. Lovely and claim. Saw people taking wedding pictures here as well. Please!Be sure prepare spray that defense mosquito for human, and tick prevention for dog. My dog bring one tick in his hair back home, but I did prevention so he didn't get bite. (I showered him immediately cause he also got plants seeds in his hair)

The Blue Line I was riding back from Revere went out of service at Orient Heights and the shuttle busses were taking way too long to help, so I stumbled across Belle Isle Marsh and couldn't have been more pleased!

Beautiful place in east Boston. Easy fun trails with well placed picnic tables. Just go in the cooler months or cover up as the mosquitoes are unreal.

Great place for a short walk (30 min to do all the major trails) but can definitely spend more time sitting out and enjoying the fresh air and wind blowing through the marshes. Also a great spot for plane-watching, one will fly almost directly overhead every few minutes.

Located within the borders of Boston, Belle Isle is a beautiful natural escape from the city. Great for bird watching and quiet nature walks. Beware of mosquitoes on hot and humid days!

Beautiful state park that’s incredibly hard to believe is still in Boston, feels like you’re transported to a different part of the state. Check out the observation tower with nice views of Logan Airport. About a five minute walk from Suffolk Downs station on the Blue Line

A calm and tranquil trail but there can be a lot of bugs during summer. Good birdwatching spots here.

a quiet place to walk, has a good viewpoint 😉

  • 3/5 Martha O. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful scenery. Lots of planes flying overhead because Logan airport is right there. The MOSQUITOS were numerous and super hangry! Worth the trip, but we won't come back until winter when the bugs aren't so bad.

I've been visiting Belle isle Marsh since I could walk, my grand parents would take me and my friends over there to kill two birds with one stone, keep us kids busy and walk the dogs for the afternoon. We loved it anyway, when we were little we would go snake hunting in the trails through the reeds. There would always be a carpet, plywood, tires, etc... Plenty of junk for the snakes to find shade. We would flip the objects over and sometimes their would be a huge black garder snake or a few. Then there would be ,"greenies", green garder snakes and "brownies ", these two kinds weren't as big as the black ones, but we got a days enjoyment out of it. My point is there is a lot to DO down BELL ISLE MARSH. To start, there is an exceptional amount of parking in the lot, handicap parking also. Wheelchair accessible with ramps up to sidewalk paths, so even for the people with disabilities can find something to do.

Great short walk option! Not too long, but some nice views. Definitely avoid during summer as the mosquitoes will swarm around you and attack you. But fall-spring is nice

A beautiful natural area with wonderful birding even in winter. Department of Conservation and Recreation guide did an excellent walk.

Went to nearby Rumney Marsh Reservation a while ago and found it unwelcoming, desolate, and boring. Had similar expectations for this, especially since it's much smaller on the map. Belle Isle Marsh Reservation is a hidden gem! Absolutely beautiful with dynamic views of the tidal marshes and wild meadows throughout. Paths are well tended with many cute little mowed detours into the meadows. The elavated observatory is great with views of downtown Boston, the airport, Nahant, and Winthrop along with the marshes. There is a constant, improbably pleasant mix of bird song and jet engines playing in the background. Was also a great spot for a picnic or small party with a nice shady lawn and several picnic tables. Also features approximately 20 parking spots and a fairly clean Porta Potty.

This is a great birding spot. Also, it's the largest remaining salt marsh in Boston. Nice, easy-going, accessible walk along the trail and boardwalk.

A viewing tower to see the salt marsh and some lovely Fall colours. A great place for plane spotting as it's under the approach to Logan airport.

Easy to get to. Hidden gem of sorts. Lots of vegetation and birds. Good signage. Nice place to walk, enjoy nature and take pictures. Please use plenty of bug spray. It did not take long for bugs to find me...use strong repellant. Use hat is sun is an issue. Great location in the city. I am a Boston resident and this is my first time here.

Love this place to hear and see the birds. Especially the red winged black birds. Nice marsh area. Historical, to see what the land looked like way back before development. This is a great place for family walks. Also, there is a tower you can go and observe some views. I always go in the morning, and in the Spring. So, I have not encountered all the mosquitoes everyone talks about. Today was blustery and cold but nice to walk around.

Great place to go for a nature walk. Today we saw Cranes and got to view airplanes coming in for a landing at nearby Logan Airpot. Great place for some peace and quiet (when no planes are around) and enjoy a picnic. Interesting little Gem. Make sure to bring bug spray when going in Spring and Summer.

I went here in late may. Had a really good time walking. If you decide to come in the spring or summer bring bug spray. If you do mind getting bit by misquotes. Come in the winter. Less bugs biting you. Alots of birds and a view of Logan Airport
