After watching Downton Abbey I felt as if I were staying in the American version. Wellington is more a mansion that has been preserved in time. The innkeepers - Hank and Barbara - truly make you feel at home. Barb worked with outlining places to see and eat at. Hank was the history buff of the duo. The location is in a beautiful neighborhood and within walking distance of some great restaurants and stores. Wish we had another day there.

What an incredible experience at this beautiful place. The Wellington Inn exceeded all our expectations and then some. The location is perfect- walk to downtown! The Inn itself is beautiful. The furnishings are definitely spot on and gorgeous. There is a baby grand and if you are sitting in there and Hank is around, he will play beautifully. The surroundings are as beautiful as the home with the front porch a gem! Now the food is outstanding. We have dietary needs (no meat, dairy, or eggs) and what a pleasant surprise to have a totally healthy breakfast- all whole food plant-based!!! The meal was definitely a 20 star rating. Barb and Hank are the best hosts ever! Thank you Barb and Hank for a wonderful experience and for mailing the two blouses I left there! PS: the sunsets are beautiful Jeff and Michele

We had an excellent time staying at the Wellington Inn. It was our first time at a B&B and we were not disappointed. The building and room furnishings were beautiful, everything was clean and cozy, and the breakfast was great. We will definitely stay there again.

This is a great historic house in a very nice historic area and in very good condition. The neighborhood is quiet and an easy walk to Front St and all the restaurants and shops. The Owners and staff were friendly and accommodating in every way. They created a very "homey" atmosphere even though it was our first stay there. Thank you!

Beautiful Inn with elegant breakfasts. Uniquely helpful hosts exceeded our expectations for services and advice. We walked everywhere which allowed us to eat the fine foods and treats in TC. Yes! You want to stay here!

We stayed here fot 2 nights. Our room was just beautiful. We were the only guests at this time but it was wonderful since we had the whole house to ourselves. It was fun exploring all the different rooms and trying to decide which room we wanted to stay in next. Breakfast each morning was delicious. Hank and Barb were fun to talk with about the history of this beautiful mansion. It was an easy walk to all the shops and restaurants in downtown Traverse.

My husband and I had a wonderful visit at the Wellington Inn. The owners and staff were so friendly and we enjoyed learning about the history of the Inn as well as some history about the area. The Inn is decorated with period furniture and very charming. It is located very close to the main part of town and the neighborhood is lovely.

Absolutely loved the vintage charm or the Wellington Inn. We stayed in the Woolsey Suite and thoroughly enjoyed the attached roof deck area for reading. The furnishings are time period appropriate and while not always comfortable, they are definitely beautiful. Hank and Barb went above and beyond to have their handy man retrieve a lost earring down a drain and I will be forever grateful for that. Their 2 block to the main street location is absolutely amazing and the breakfast each morning was delicious. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay!

While my husband and I only stayed one night (it was our last night of vacation), it was a great wrap up to our week. Beautiful and fascinating house, great location - just a short walk into TC - and the neighborhood was wonderful. The house itself was a historical wonder. So glad we stayed there!

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast and it did not disappoint! Hank and Barb were exceptionally friendly, kind, and welcoming. I felt like it was home away from home. Phenomenal food for breakfast each morning and beautiful rooms. I can't say enough good things about this place. On another plus side, it was within walking distance of several nice restaurants and shops, and a beautiful park with Lake Michigan. We plan to go back next year. I have nothing negative to say .

The Wellington Inn was the perfect place for a two-nights stay with my Grandma. She was in hot-heaven surrounded by all the beautifully kept antique furniture. Barb and Hank are lovely hosts and serve a delightful breakfast. The convenient location to downtown Traverse was a most pleasant surprise. I would stay again!

Great stay at the Wellington! Barb and Hank are the best hosts and offer friendly and attentive hospitality. Both were knowledgeable on the history of the home and offered local dining tips. House has been lovingly restored and furnished. Excellent front porch sitting. Our room was the Morgan Chamber. Quiet location and comfortable furnishings. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed conversation with the other guests. Third floor has a full kitchen for guest’s use. Great location – walk to downtown. Off street parking. Recommended to me by a co-worker who grew up in Travers City. I’m a hospitality executive and was impressed by my stay. We can’t wait to return!

This was truly an experience! The hosts, Barb and Hank are wonderful and so attentive. There is a baby grand piano in the living room and we asked Hank if he can play. He modestly said a little bit. The next thing we know, we had a concert pianist performance! Staying at the Wellington Inn is like staying at your own home. There is a common kitchen area with drinks and goodies to munch on. Breakfast is served at 9am and is delicious. Asked Barb what we were having to eat the next day and she replied she never tells because she may change her mind in the morning! We will definitely be back! Everyone has to stay here at least once in their lifetime.

The historical Wellington mansion location is in a beautiful neighborhood and within walking distance of the lake, and some great restaurants and stores in downtown Traverse City. The innkeepers, Barb and Hank were great hosts. The breakfasts were amazing with the best fresh fruit, and coffee. We will recommend Wellington Inn to family and friends without hesitation. Thanks, for a great stay.

We live in Pennsylvania, but we decided to make a road trip to Michigan, new territory for us. We learned that northern Michigan is a wonderful vacation area! We stayed at the Wellington Inn for three nights, and we couldn't believe our good luck in picking this inn for our accommodations. Staying here is an experience and adventure in itself. This is a beautiful, very large and gracious home set in a beautiful neighborhood. The location can't be beat--you can walk everywhere to restaurants, stores, and the waterfront. And you are centrally located for driving and bicycling to nearby areas. Barb and Hank are just so interesting and fun. Breakfast is served at 9:00 and is part of the overall experience. My husband and I were so happy to stay here!

We like to stay at historic properties when they're available. They are usually in impressive neighborhoods and they are tended by caring people who are innkeepers out of a desire for the business. Both were true of the Wellington Inn. It is located in a gorgeous neighborhood. Hank and Barbara were the most gracious of hosts who immediately made us feel at home with them. I will remember our stay fondly and look forward to staying there again.

Seriously gorgeous! The home was lovingly restored and is a true beauty in Traverse City. The breakfasts are phenomenal! I didn't even think about going to the Omelette Shoppe in town because I couldn't resist what they had to offer. Wonderful caretakers, beautiful location, and astonishing accommodations. This will be my place to stay in TC from now on.

Barb and Hank were great hosts in an amazing 11,000 square foot historical home full of beauty. The meals in the morning were amazing. The best fresh fruit, orange juice, coffee, sweet breads, and protein dishes. DELICIOUS. Really appreciate the huge room with private bathroom, COMFY bed and bedding , and all the extra snacks and drinks they provide in the 3rd floor full kitchen. The front porch is delightful and we had the nicest time. Everything is in excellent condition and the air conditioning kept us nice and cool on all floors in 90 plus degree weather! Go for a sail! Walking distance to lake, sail launch and tons of great food . Ample parking as well. Thank you Barb and Hank! Can't wait to come back !

Truly an unforgettable experience! Barb and Hank are the most welcoming hosts. They gave us great recommendations and the location was in perfect walking distance to downtown Traverse. The room was well-kept, ornate, and very clean. I looked forward to the morning breakfast and socializing with the other guests. Hank even treated us to a quick piano serenade.
