We had a fun time on this tour. Our guide was funny and engaging. More than anything I enjoyed the history and look forward to reading more into the things that were mentioned. It wasn’t particularly scary and we didn’t feel any ghostly presence, but it was a good time and a great way to see some of the beautiful squares in the city. The ear pieces made it very nice so we could always hear the guide and we felt free to space out. The restroom/water break halfway through was much appreciated in the August heat.

My boyfriend and I recently had the pleasure of taking our first trip to Savannah and the historic walking tour was the highlight of our visit! Our tour guide TC was super friendly and engaging and you could tell he had a lot of love for his city. He even stuck around after the tour to answer some additional questions we had and gave some recommendations for other spots to check out. The tour itself was interesting and informative and gave us some insights into the city we probably wouldn't have known about otherwise. Highly recommend this tour whether it's your first time to Savannah or you just want to learn some more about this beautiful town!

Having been to Savannah before, this was our first ghost tour…. and we were not disappointed! We wanted to learn more of the history of the city, including the darker side, i.e., hauntings. A lot of tours seemed overly commercial or unauthentic but Genteel and Bard was really genuine. T.C. was our host and he was incredible, a truly enthusiastic host and gifted story teller. The physical ground and stories covered left us feeling like we too were a part of the city, and wanting more! We would recommend making this a part of any trip to Savannah!

Had a great experience learning about such a beautiful city. Savannah is amazing with so many stories it must be a challenge to leave any out. TC was great curator of the city and his excitement and love of the city he calls home are readily evident. We did the Ghost tour the night before the history tour and our guide Bradford was also well informed and energetic. Savannah, we’ll definitely be back. Too much to do and eat in one weekend.

Absolutely fantastic tour. My guide was TC, and it's without a doubt obvious that he loves what he does. Having only been in town for an hr at the time this started, I found it was not only entertaining and chock full of history, but I got a good lay of the land and some solid recommendations for my three-day stay. Can't recommend it enough. If this is your first time in town, do yourself a favor and take this tour. You won't be disappointed.

We went on a dark history and ghost encounter tour this week. It was disappointing at best. The tour guide had limited knowledge of the area. The tour was sold as 2 hours and we barely made it 90 minutes. We picked this tour due to the hundreds of great reviews - either we got the novice guide or the quality of this company has gone downhill.

Ray was an amazing guide! His knowledge, enthusiasm, and love of history, especially Savannah's rich history, was apparent from the moment we began the tour. Will definitely be back with my kids to experience again!

Great tour! Rod weaves historical details with narration to create an engaging tour of Savanah’s historic district.

Bradford was INCREDIBLE. I even noticed other tours paying more attention to our tour because of how incredible of a story teller he was. Our group was so impressed by him. Great story telling, it was a lot of fun! I certainly recommend this tour and especially recommend Bradford!

We had Ray for our guide today and he was great , knowledgeable and lots of great info in a fun environment , in a great city

Ray is amazing. So knowledgeable and presents the history of Savannah in an engrossing way that is so logical and impactful. I took the Olde Savannah tour with my husband who has a new knee. It was such a letdown. I had to explain what the guide was saying. If you have the option, please join Ray on a wonderful adventure into the history of this beautiful city. I’ll do it again on my next visit.

I had a great tour of Savannah with Rodney! He’s very knowledgeable and a superb story teller! I took a similar tour through a bigger company last year, and trust me it pays to have a tour with real historians.

Ray! What an awesome guide. He shared so much wonderful history and added extras about Savannah. I loved his practical perspective of this city’s history. Well worth the time for this 2-hour historical walking tour.

We attended this tour last night. Our tour guide Ashley was fantastic and a master storyteller! Her knowledge of Savannah’s history and hauntings was obvious. She was able to answer any question asked by the group members during the two hours we spent with her. The ear piece was very helpful so that we missed nothing. Definitely felt goosebumps listening to the stories told on this tour. Before taking a ghost tour, I spent quite a bit of time researching the ghost tours that are available in Savannah. The advantage of the walking tour is that while the stories are being told, the guests are standing in the place where everything happened. Taking one of the driving tours removes some of the spookiness. It is more exciting and interesting to spend 10 minutes looking around while learning the history of each haunted place visited in this tour. The walking in this tour is easy and less than a mile in two hours time. I plan to do this tour again when I return to Savannah in the fall with my husband. I highly recommend this tour! (Be sure to tip your guide if they do a great job. It was disappointing to watch so many people leave without giving a tip.)

Had a fantastic time with our tour guide Ray on a historic downtown of Savannah walk! Ray is very friendly, knowledgeable, funny and easy to talk to. We enjoyed every minute of our tour and learned so much! I would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone!

Great tour! TC was informative, entertaining and answered all the questions from Georgia history, Savannah current affairs etc. We will come back for another tour with this company.

Robert was a font of historical and ghostly information. A totally engaging tour, we enjoyed every moment. Our tour guide was enthusiastic about every detail, factually accurate, and completely connected with us the entire tour. Maybe I’m off base for the protocol of a tour guide, but I felt he was so knowledgeable about the content he was able to flow with conversation and interests of each participant without skipping a beat. It felt in no way rehearsed. He just knew it and added tons of stories and tidbits about many places not even on the walking tour. Highly recommend!!

We had a wonderful 2 hour ghost tour with Ashley. She was fun, super knowledgeable, definitely into the entire ghost genre, and humorous with some of her stories. The time flew by which is always a sign that you’re enjoying yourself. The city of Savannah has some amazing haunted places and we heard about quite a few. Although none of us saw any apparitions, we all could relate to the stories and the tragic deaths of many of the early residents of Savannah. I highly recommend this tour and Ashley! The photos are from the tour. Also, they use headsets which allows for guests to hear the tour guide even when they’re 15-20 feet away. It was a great touch!

What a great opportunity to hear about the history of Savannah and haunting stories. TC is not only an amazing historian but his storytelling captivated everyone. The bonus-earphones so you could hear the stories over the hustle and bustle of the downtown. Highly recommend! We will be bringing all our out of town guests on this tour!

Spectacular tour! Ashley, our guide, was a wealth of historical facts and stories. One of the best tours we’ve ever taken!! There were only 2 of us on the tour and we were thankful that she didn’t cancel like some other companies might have. We would recommend 1000% and hope to try another tour that is offered. Thanks for a great morning!

We did the 830PM ghost tour a couple of weeks back while on vacation. Ashley was great! She is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour was as much historical as it was spooky, but it had the right mix of both. In order to hear everything, we were all given ear buds and a wireless receiver. Worked really well with no issues and added to the experience. The whole family enjoyed the tour. If you're looking for a cool ghost tour in Savannah, look no further!

Great tour! Our guide Jovi was a great story teller and very engaging. He knew a lot about the history and macabre of Savannah. The free ear buds for the tour were an awesome perk and made listening so much easier. I think Genteel and Bard are the only ones who do this. This was our first ghost tour and could not be happier that we chose this one. Would definitely recommend.

TC was an excellent host, very knowledgeable a out the history of Savannah and the surrounding area. The day time walking tour was fantastic and very well done. We learned a lot. The night time dark history and ghost tour was also fantastic. You can tell that these guys really love what they do and are passionate and providing an excellent tour, the best tour of Savannah we have found on our trip. Thank you!

This tour was very good. Bradford, our tour guide, is a very good storyteller and kept you engaged the whole time. I would highly recommend this tour. It is the only tour that has earbuds. You can hear the tour without being close to the tour guide. That made it good for me, that likes to take pictures. This is a small locally owned company. Glad I did this.

T.C. is the man! What an amazing time spent together learning about Savannah! He/they know it all, and now we know and appreciate it, too! Great company, amazing knowledgeable guides. A 2-hour tour somehow became an almost 3-hour tour!!! Thank you! Highly reccomended!

The tour was excellent. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about Savannah history and shared his knowledge throughout the tour. The photos shared on his iPAD were a nice compliment to the stories. Overall this was our top attraction during our stay. Highly recommend this tour.

We would've liked less talking and more walking. Our tour guide was super knowledgeable of Savannah history, which is a good thing. But we were hoping to experience more of the visual aesthetic that the Savannah historical district is famous for. We spent too much time standing still getting long dissertations on historical details. We could've covered more ground, seen more of Savannah's beauty, if the guide had kept the speeches short and our feet moving. In the end, rather than feeling like I saw Savannah with some historical context given, I felt like I had read a history book.

We did the 7:30 2-hour ghost tour. This is the most interesting and informative tour in Savannah. Ray was an excellent guide and storyteller. This is more than just spooky stories. It was all historical and based on truth. We also had a lot of fun. If all of the tours and guides are as good as Ray, I will have to book all of the tours on the next visit.

This was a great tour. Ashely was amazing. She really knows her stuff and you can tell she is passionate about it. It was a nice balance of history and some current information. Easy paced and not as much walking as I thought. Great way to spend 2 hours in Savannah. Do this tour!

Genteel and Bard were not my first choice in Savannah walking tours, but fortunately the walking tours of the company I had originally wanted to go with were sold out. That caused me to start searching for another tour company and I could not have chosen better than Genteel and Bard! Our guide, Rodney Stuart (Stewart?), is an adjunct professor of history at the University of South Carolina. Rodney was personable and engaging, and for two solid hours he regaled us with history and stories of Savannah. His presentation style was amazing, and I almost wish I was one of his history course students! He was easily able to field any questions from our group and my husband and I had a great time. The ear buds and receivers are a super idea and they made it easy to hear above the traffic noise (as well as wander off to snap a picture or two, then rejoin the group without missing a word!). I’m very happy the original company’s tours were sold out…. we certainly discovered a Savannah gem in Genteel and Bard, and especially in Rodney!!

The Genteel & Bard dark history and ghost tour was one of the best things we did in Savannah. Our tour guide Ashley was an amazing storyteller and so entertaining. It was so interesting to learn about the spooky history of savannah while standing in the exact spot where it all happened. We will definitely be booking more tours though this company.

Loved our tour and tour guide TC! He is very knowledgeable and a great storyteller! The tour was over2hrs long and more info than I could possibly remember! It was the most enjoyable part of our trip to Savannah- highly recommend

T.C. is an amazing tour guide. His knowledge of Savannah history, anecdotal stories and passion for history made for a memorable and enjoyable tour! He connected everyone to Savannah through his presentation.

Wow. This is an amazing tour. I’d highly recommend this one to any couples, friends, or families visiting Savannah. Rod was our guide and he drew on his extensive experience as a History professor on our tour. He was pleasant, well-spoken and made the tour enjoyable. I’ve been to Savannah several times, and this was my first time doing a tour here. It really gave me a deeper understanding and appreciation for this beautiful city. This tour uses a microphone system where each person has their own individual receiver and ear buds - this was highly convenient for taking pictures - if I wanted to snap something I could hear everything as I was catching back up with the group. Enjoy the tour!

What an entertaining and informative tour! Our guide, Jovy, was incredibly knowledgeable and fascinating to listen to. No ghosts or demons jumping out to scare you, just some of the (very) dark history, and spirits, of Old Savannah. A bit of walking, so wear good shoes.
