Great little local warung on way to Merapi - Tahu Kupat is delicious (enak). I would recommended any tourist in the area to seek out for great food at a ridiculously good price..

Kupat Tahu is traditional dish from Central Java, especially Magelang, nearby Borobudur. Kupat Tahu consist of tofu, vegetables, kupat, with sweet savory and fresh sauce. The taste is so special and very delicious. Kupat Tahu pelopor is one of the best Kupat Tahu at Central Java.

Typical Magelang meal made of tofu, rice cake, cabbage and bean sprout, smothered with special soy sauce mixed with minced peanut. The place is very modest but quite clean for dine in. There are also toilets and praying room (musholla) for the customers.

A recommended place for you who want to find the traditional local food of Magelang. Placed at the side of main road, so its easy to find this place.

You should try this traditional food! This place is legendary. However, I should say that the last time I visited this place a few days ago, the taste was too sweet compared to few years back. It lessened the original taste. Make sure you ask for less palm sugar in your portion.

Must try!! Always be missed whenever I visited my mother's hometown. Egg topping is needed. But otherwise the basic kupat tahu and the fresh ingredients make the dish complete. It's a simple dish but the taste always deliver. Recommended.

Delicious Kupat Tahu. It's very cheap, but they only offer one type of food. Not suitable for family with young kids/ toddlers since the store opens directly to major highway (no barrier whatsoever)
