The place has a museum that tells about the history of mount Merapi. However, it was obviously look unkempt and outdated. They need to renovate the museum to make it more attractive. The outdoor area was clean and the view was pretty cool though. They had a restaurant which overlooked the mountain view however they only have limited menu. One thing that I don't like is we need to pay to use the dirty and broken toilets.

What a great view! Amazing! Just a bit disappointed by the enter fee, personally I think it's a bit expensive compares to the other place. But overall the place is great, there are a lot of restrooms and it's clean. Don't forget to bring your jacket or coat here, or you may get cold

Our trip here was super impromptu but that's alright. They have a lot of posters and displays related to Mount Merapi but to be honest, they feel a bit outdated. They have a café corner that only sells cup noodles and some packaged drinks. And then on top there's also a restaurant with plenty of seats but when we got there at about 9 or 10 AM, not many menus were ready. Not many things to do to be honest but the view is great! You can eat at a Warmindo on the parking lot instead 😅

Breathtaking views, but not without its downsides. Visiting Ketep Pass is a treat for those wanting to feast their eyes on Mount Merapi and Merbabu. The covered lookout is a thoughtful touch, especially useful when the rain pours. However, as a Westerner, be prepared for a hefty entry fee – five times higher than locals, though it does come with a free drink. A significant drawback is the limited parking, which becomes particularly problematic during busy weekends. And a word of caution: the toilets leave much to be desired, being quite dirty and poorly maintained. Despite these issues, the stunning views do offer some redemption.

Ketep pass, a place that is a viewing post for 2 mountains, namely Merapi and Merbabu. We can also can see Merapi museum. around it there are stalls selling roasted corn, tempe mendoan & local coffee/drinks with great view and fresh weather. Travel time from Yogyakarta is around 1,5 - 2 hours. But, if foggy or rainy condition, we cannot enjoy the beautifulness of the views.

Better visit this place in the morning. Before the clouds covering the mountain. Quite large space. Many good spots for taking selfies. Better not visit this place on weekend or public holiday. And yeah, i love the view. Just sitting on the chair while looking at the landscape. So peaceful. Entrance fee: 12k Parking fee: 3k (bike)

Need to pay Rp12,500/person for the gate, and you need to add Rp9,000/person if you want to go to museum or other attraction. Not many attraction, only a view of Mt. Merapi.

Car parking space is small for public area. Need maintenance and renovation project to provide clean rest room, provide audio museum, lighting and more attractive. Fresh air here.

But not so many attraction in this place, just a cool view the 2 fabolous mountain Merapi and Merbabu. 12,5 K IDR per person and pay more 9K IDR the get the 2nd level of the place to get higher view to the see the surrounding.

good location with beautiful scenery and we can find out various information about volcanic activity and the history of volcanic activity in Indonesia. It's just that the top location of the viewing post is still being repaired, the cinema is quiet and there are no counter guards, the canteen above is quiet (it even seems closed) causing visitors to be a bit confused if they want to rest while ordering food after seeing the sights above, parking is quite adequate and ticket prices are still normal.

This place offers a great Mt. Merapi scenery. If its not foggy, you can clearly see the mountain like right in front of you. They also provide a lot of seating area where you can sit and enjoy the scenery. Also there are a lot of kiosk either outside & inside area that sell mendoan, jagung bakar, popmie, etc. Not only for the view, here you can watch a documentary movie about Mt. Merapi with additional ticket of 9k. There is also a museum about Mt. Merapi, shows pictures & story of the mountain itself. There is also musholla inside. Better bring your own food here, like snacks, drinks, etc.

beautiful view! pro tip: bring an umbrella in case of rain as the weather changes rapidly. when we came here we cant really see the merapi mountain due to the heavy fog. on a sunny day the merapi is pretty clear, though.

Ketep Pass is one of the best spot to view Mount Merbabu and Merapi side by side.. This place can be reached from Magelang & Semarang via Kopeng street. The path has many uphill roads, so make sure your vehicle is in good condition. There are also those who offer trips by jeep. The tour will visited several spots such as waterfalls, playing water in the "gerojogan" and others.. it's so much fun! I suggest you to come here early in the morning, because in the afternoon it is usually foggy and the mountains are covered with clouds.

First time visiting and first impression was so so only. They charge foreigners Rp50k per person and you get one free soft drink. There is a volcano museum but looks pretty run down. Was told can view volcano documentary in the in-house theatre bit it was closed when I visited. What a let down. So the only saving grace was the observation platform at the hill top overlooking the villages. Too bad it was cloudy and misty so did not get to see much of the mountain view.
