Really nice FREE museum. The first floor is rotating exhibitions and the second floor is permanent collections. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit, but if you find yourself in Old City with some time on your hands it’s a great place to check out. It seems like a good place to have a first date. I noticed a couple who were on one and it appeared to be going well. They have a nice gift shop as well. Important to note: only the first floor is accessible. The second floor requires walking up a steep staircase and there doesn’t appear to be an elevator.

Loved it! Small museum filled with interesting wood art. Free to enter and enjoy, but they really deserve a generous donation. We were welcomed warmly, introduced to the museum and offered a tour. The displays are well organized, the museum space is bright. It’s fully accessible, with accessible entrances, restroom and an elevator to the second floor. There are displays at all heights, and an audio tour available.

I checked out 'The Mashrabiya Project' at this exhibition location. Entrance is free, and this museum is worth a quick visit if you appreciate art made from wood.

Free museum. Very small. Great caring kind people run this. Many local artists on display. There is also a store selling some unique wood items. Prices range from moderate to expensive.

An absolute must-visit! A hidden gem for sure! Really incredible exhibit and the permanent collection is amazing as well. Love the balance of both woodworking as utilitarian skill craft as well as woodworking as a contemporary expressive art form and discussion platform. There is plenty of both aspects to appreciate and indulge in here. On top of that, the staff was so friendly and knowledgeable and seemed excited to show you around and present information. The curation and layout was also great and had a very nice flow. Plus the gift shop is also wonderful. Technically it is free entry but PLEASE give the suggested $5 donation, it’s absolutely worth every penny of that and more. Next time I’m in Philly I’ll be coming back here again!

This museum is small but mighty!! Terrific main exhibit but the permanent collection upstairs is a wonder, if you have some patience and love small details. Gift shop is also awesome! Hidden gem.

A free museum with a beautiful gallery, extensive permanent collection, and a curated gift shop. You could easily spend a few hours upstairs looking at the hundreds of pieces of wood art. This is also an incredible resource for artists and woodworkers as they host educational programming and an artist-in-residence program.

Beautiful - intricately designed pieces line this amazing space. Each has it's own story. Loved the tour of the upstairs and opportunity to see the machines at work.

What a hidden gem of a museum - the staff are so thoughtful and knowledgeable. It’s free, the exhibit up right now on Mashrabiyya is visionary and expertly curated, and the shop had some wonderful things. 10/10

A hidden gem. Beautiful pieces in the upstairs exhibit. Amazing, how the artists bring the beauty of wood out for all to appreciate in a whole spectrum of ways. I'm definitely glad this popped up on a search of things to do in Old City Philadelphia.

Had a virtual tour on PBS during the COVID-19 shelter in place. My wife and I plan to visit as soon as we can safely.

Visited this gallery on First Friday art walk. Delightful surroundings. Interesting items. Loved the solid slab of Wood with just lips and teeth in the center. And the big bird sculpture is impressive. Enjoyed explanations of various art work. The small art carvings were beyond my budget. Good cookies.

My families friend works here and this place is awesome even though the wood pens had no design and I can make better pens in my sleep.

A beautiful museum of artwork in wood. I visited while there was a specific exhibit "Spoons to Stir the Soul" and was given a walkthrough by the curator. What a gem of a place!

Interesting museum, free to enter. You do need to lookup information on the computer inside or ask one of the staff questions to understand the artifacts you're looking at and understand their significance. Can be a quick visit otherwise.

Very chic place in old city Philadelphia, lots of great crafts on show and on the first floor there is a great exhibition as well. The collection is nicely organized and neatly catalogued with author/date. Highly recommend, also has a book corner where people could sit and read about wood craft. Appreciate the museum.

Whenever I have guests visit me from out of town, this is the one museum I make sure we have time to see. It's not too big or overwhelming- you can finish the entire museum in under two hours. It is such a cool museum- I think it really captures the progressive art scene in Philadelphia,PA.

Might be one of my favorite museums in Philadelphia. They have an exquisite permanent collection. They often rotate their temporary exhibits. There is a gift shop on sight. And, they offer workshops throughout the seasons.

This place is just jaw-dropping amazing. You would never know by walking by the art they have in the larger back of the building. Highly recommend stopping in if you are in Old City.
