My daughter and I went here after having tacos from across the street. I had the Dulce de leche and it was absolutely delicious. My daughter had the butter pecan and she loved it as well. Since it was a Thursday night in February, there was no line.

Thomas Ice Cream always leaves an impressive array of flavors, ranging from classic favorites to unique creations that push the boundaries of traditional ice cream offerings. I was delighted by the wide variety of choices available, making it difficult for me to decide on just one flavor. Luckily, the staff was more than happy to offer recommendations and provide generous samples to help me make my selection. The moment I took my first bite, I was blown away. The ice cream at Thomas is nothing short of exceptional. Each scoop was incredibly creamy, smooth, and packed with intense flavors. But my most fav flavor is definitely dulche de leche!!! It was sooooooo good!

Best icecream around this area. Their milkshakes are worth trying. Parking could be a problem in the area as it’s all metered. Staff is really nice.

Came in for a "super thick milkshake" but the shake itself was not at all thick... The manager in the back also was not very friendly. I'll be going to Surreal Creamery for my ice cream fix hereafter.

I got two different flavors but wasn't very impressed. Definitely good enough if you just want ice cream, but I plan on going somewhere else first

We tried Chocolate Pudding Icecream and it has become my favourite chocolate icecream in town. The texture was creamy and less icy. Do try it if you love chocolate.

Best ice cream in town, servings are on point, flavors are on point. It was a rainy day and there was a line ahead AND people were lining up to get some ice cream... it's cream-inal knowing you're reading this review about Thomas' Sweet Ice Cream and not going there right now. I am a former assistant manager (Hi Mike and Jen! You know me as Amy Hines) from the early to mid 90’s, and this place is still such a great memory. I can attest that the ingredients are fresh and QUALITY, and the attention to detail is top notch. This place remains my favorite ice cream and chocolate EVER and anytime I am near NJ, I make sure to stop and get some! Believe it or not, I miss the busy nights where the line was out the door and down the block! If I had my druthers, I would open one here in Fort Worth, where I now live! Hmm 🤔 maybe I should visit and taste test all the things. It’s worth the trip!

I got lucky finding it just by Google map search. Turned out to be a popular place with tasty homemade ice creams. Maple nut and milk flavors were yummy. Staff is friendly and helping customer decide.

Went to Rutgers and I still drive 25 minutes to eat ice cream here. Their blend ins are amazing and according to my daughter, their mint chocolate chip Vegan ice cream is the "best" she has ever had! Great service, nice neighborhood and amazing ice cream.

Good ice cream place near New Brunswick station. When we visited there was a long wait, but the ice cream was really good. Banana Oreo was really good

Don't go anywhere else for ice cream. It's home made. If you have a sweet tooth go for a blend-in and add your favorite candies, fruit, or other sweets.

I gave this place this review based on the service You have these useless teen girls there Extremely unprofessional too busy talking and on their phone ao everything is getting delayed I asked for something but the girl behind the counter couldnt make my drink until she played music first And then shes twerking while making my drink prolonging my stay Dumb teens Because of this service and the fact that you have yo repeat yourself multiple times because the staff is too busy talking or or on their phone Ill take the drive and go elsewhere Terrible service from the young hood roaches

My family & I have been getting icecream at Thomas Sweet for like a hundred years. I hope they remain open for a hundred more. Love this place. Their icecream is heaven.

I am a little late with my post but I have to write a review due to the irresponsibility of the students working during the summer. I went in with my daughter I ordered 2 shakes. My shake was a plain strawberry and my daughter had a plain chocolate chip ice cream. Apparently as they were preparing my shake and having conversations amongst each other (which by the way there were about 4 ladies and a male standing around.) They were so entertain in their personal conversations they would pause & chat and continue to do their job. Well we finally got our shakes drove away and when I was in the car my shake did not taste like strawberry it tasted a mixture of chocolate chip mixed w/ strawberry. When I opened the lid it was mixed with my daughters ice cream shake. Which only means they did not clean the supplies before beginning the other shake! I contacted the location and spoke to a young lady in regards to this issue and I mentioned what if I had allergies. She had the nerve to respond well do you? I said, I don't but my daughter does have peanuts allergies. If I would off ordered something containing peanuts and she drank it and got an allergic reaction you will be accountable. They don't understand the severity of an allergic reaction that would off been caused by their immature incompetent job! I won't go back.

Wow! The vegan ice cream here is incredible. It was so creamy that I couldn't even tell it was vegan. I got the peanut butter and the oreos n cream.

Not happy considering I ordered through doordash and then got a call saying they didn’t have the flavor I ordered so then was forced to pick something else I didn’t really want and then when I got it I could t even eat it because their was no straw with my milkshake and no I’m not going to struggle with a spoon in a tall cup to eat it so in the trash it went. Never again. I’ll be sticking with surreal creamery from now on.

Im so glad that there’s Thomas here! It can Be annoying to park & what not but once you make it this place for sure makes up for it! The Icecream flavors are super decadent & always satisfy the sweet tooth. I do recommend trying their milkshakes as well super filling and taste amazing!

Everyone always reads about Thomas sweets ice cream. I think, it's just okay. It's a very small shop that has been around ever since I was a student at Rutgers University. It's changed the owners a few times. They do have a good selection of flavors and will do blended ice cream and your choice of toppings you request them. you can only fit about 8 or 9 people in there at a time, or one wheelchair and five people. There is no accessible restroom, the few tables inside can be used by a wheelchair as the chairs are movable.

Ordered through doordash asked for double scoop they sent a small cup inside a big cup for it to appear bigger but it is actually a much smaller serving. I played $17 for this. I'm not ordering again this should not be allowed.
