Went here a week ago, the Staff was very knowledgeable about the Board Games there. Greeted us and helped us with any questions we had! Def would Recommend, I didn't buy the whole store only because I was broke

An outstanding local game store in all the ways a local game community can be outstanding. You read that correct, the fact this is a store that sells things is secondary to the value this location provides to the community. This is the reason Rune & Board is so highly rated, and why everyone from the Portland area seems to want to get on the TriMet blue and come down here; to buy the things they could buy anywhere at Rune & Board.

Knowledgeable, informative and very friendly customer service. Found a wonderful game for my daughter, 'Here Kitty, Kitty' and my husband and son enjoyed the 40K tables. Great in store selection and a huge selection of tester games. :-)

I love this store! The staff is always helpful and friendly, and I never feel like I'm being spoken down to or belittled (as a woman, this is sometimes a problem within the gaming community). They carry several different brands of specialized paint and supplies for minis and terrain, which is also really nice.

If you're looking for a fully stocked board/table-top gaming store, this is the place to be. The employees are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. My son and I went due to the large assortment of miniatures they have for tabletop games. We were not disappointed. Also have a few bookshelves filled with TTRPG sourcebooks. It's a wide selection of systems as well, so if D&D 5e isn't your thing, they probably have something that is. While we weren't there for board gaming, they do have a very large selection of board games as well.

We were trying to find a venue for a live D&D game we were hosting for out of town friends coming to visit for my birthday. We called here several times trying to see if we could use this place: they never replied any of the times we tried to get this information. Thus, I can only conclude that this place is not somewhere you want to try to play games at. EDIT: The event I was trying to set up was in July. I started trying to contact them in May. They said they'd call back, never did. I called them again later in May, didn't get a reply. Tried again in early June, then decided to just go somewhere else when they gave the weakest, most nothing "oh yeah just come in we have tables" answer when I asked a series of specific questions. Don't go where you're not wanted, right?

Very clean store, plenty of room to play. Got some amazing deals on boxes. Staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.

Amazing selection for D&D, Warhammer age of Sigmar, Warhammer 40k, and a countless number of board games. Warhammer 40k is usually my main focus when coming here and they have a great selection of any of the factions you might want to play as, either feom 40k or from the great Horus Heresy in 30k, as well as any paint you might want to detail your models with. the workers are very knowledgeable and it's always fun to chat about what techniques or tips either of us use for various models.

best local game store - tons of options from affordable to collector’s items. everything you need for MTG, Warhammer & all the accessories in-between. best collection and even carry secret lair items. very reasonable prices. there’s always lots of events going on that are easy to keep up with if you follow the store instagram. easy to jump into games with inclusive and friendly people. nick and fox are kind, approachable and helpful!

Great gaming store with a wide selection of boardgames, tabletop to rpg books, dice, minis, cards... the list goes on! You'll go in and see people playing boardgames and card games sometimes. Parking is relatively easy and I've always found a parking spot within a block. Their employees are knowledge and friendly. The store is clean and their prices are fair. This is my go to local gaming store even though there's technically closer stores to me!

This store had the best selection of warhammer products I have ever seen. We dropped by on a visit from Idaho, and we will be sure to come back again!

Great local shop with affordable prices! They have a clearance section with a variety of board games (which I personally haven't seen anywhere else) and they do sell Pokemon stuff. No singles though. They also host weekly events. Staff are all friendly and helpful.

Team was extremely cool and helped me find all I needed for my DM starter kit, very good selection of DnD stuff & anything else TTRPG related.

Even with several wonderful shops throughout Portland, I still make time to travel to Rune and Board when I can. The staff is thoughtful and knowledgeable, able to help you find just what you're looking for to scratch that gaming itch. The community is large, friendly, and passionate (especially if you're looking for a game of EDH), and they host a variety of events all year. Parking is ample on the weekends, and the MAX stop is less than a block away. It's walking distance to food and a bunch of lovely shops in downtown Hillsboro. This is a place I'm very happy to support when I can.

R&B is one of my all-time favorite game stores. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and they carry a unique selection of games and gaming accessories. If your friends or family love games, this is a fun place to take them. I highly recommend it!

I moved to the area recently and attended my first Magic The Gathering prerelease event at Rune & Board over the weekend. It was an absolute delight. The store is filled with great products, has ample event space, and is clean and organized. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I look forward to attending more events here in the future and it will be my LGS of choice as long as I'm in the area. Highly recommended!

Being in Portland for work, I was extremely bored on the weekend. I went to this store looking for a good solo game. Jay was quick to help me with a great suggestion and very polite. I had a wonderful experience here and am happy with Jay's suggestion. Would highly recommend this store. As an avid board gamer, this is one of the best game stores I have visited.

What a neat place! The family found a couple games that have truly been a lot of fun to play. If you stop in I'm betting you'll find something you like.

Great little game shop. They were super friendly to my kiddo, who came in to buy pokemon cards. I really liked the card sleeves they have for binders because the cards slip in from the side rather than the bottom and seem to be less likely to fall out.
