The old BOB 2.0 will always be with us with great but wonderful memoriesšŸ‘šŸ¼Today was just at the gym. Really was trying to get used to it but still got all my sets in. Very great features, new gym equipment. It's very wonderful for them to expand the powerlifting and weightlifting community to a whole new level. Good job, and congrats šŸ˜€

Love this place and 3.0 just takes the cake. Amazing equipment, friendly people and a great atmosphere for prs and learning new techniques. I started my pl here 2 years ago and have felt nothing but support here. Itā€™s more than a gym, itā€™s a community

Sick. Might be the best gym in Toronto, maybe even the world, no cap. If you're into powerlifting, you definitely have to visit as it has the best community. No cap.

I started at Band of Barbells back in Sept 2021 and I am still just as happy with my decision to sign up! The space is big enough to accommodate all lifters and is kept in great condition! You can truly tell that the members care about the space and do their due diligence in cleaning and maintaining the gym. Iā€™m very pleased with with the amount of plates, bars and racks that are available, never has been a time where you have to wait for something, and if so, everyone is so friendly enough to share equipment. The environment overall is great, everyone is so friendly, supportive- very much a community feel, which is really nice for new lifters (never have felt judged!). I would highly recommend Band of Barbells to anyone that is looking for a powerlifting/Olympic weightlifting gym

Terrific powerlifting gym. Their new location is great. Seven combo racks (three of them Eleiko) and more than enough calibrated plates for each rack. There are also a few regular racks in addition to the combo racks. All equipment is in good to excellent condition. There is a belt squat machine, cable machine, and t-bar row machine amongst other equipment. Clean, bright and friendly atmosphere. The space is technically a semi-basement but didnā€™t feel like it at all thanks to how bright, open and well-ventilated it was. Right off the 401 and has a parking lot so easily accessible. Thanks Dan and Mae for having us!

The gym is very clean and weights are always put away neatly. Everyone is friendly and the coach is extremely knowledgeable. I knew nothing about powerlifting and owner thought me everything from ground up. All the members of the gym are so welcoming. It's a non judgmental environment and an amazing place for any beginner looking to get back into shape or seriously train for a competition.

I've known Dan for a while and when I heard that he was opening a gym, I knew I had to go there. The environment is very welcoming and all of the members and coaches are respectful and friendly. The gym itself is always very tidy and clean. Lastly, the atmosphere is fun and gets you pumped to workout. Highly recommend the gym.

B.O.B. is the place to be. If you are a strength athlete or a person who wants to get into shape. This is the place to be! Update: Having been away from B.O.B. since early March, words cannot convey how glad I am to be back. Today, August 9, was my first day back. The gym is so clean, you could eat off of the floor. While there, Dan didnā€™t stop cleaning with disinfectant. Iā€™m in my mid 40ā€™s and felt very safe and reassured that my health and safety was a top priority. Thanks to Dan and Mae for their excellent work!

As a beginner to the powerlifting world, Iā€™d say Band of barbells is the BEST place to train. It was intimidating at first, but quickly realized how friendly and welcoming everyone was. The equipments are top notch and the space is well kept. Everyone does their part of cleaning and maintaining the gym. The community at BOB is truly like no other. Definitely recommend checking this place out!

Dan and Mae are the best owners! Let me start by saying you guys are an inspiration and leaders in the sport of powerlifting and as gym owners in the community. For those in the sport of powerlifting if youā€™re in Scarborough and donā€™t train at the upcoming new 3.0 location you are missing out on gains! If youā€™re looking to compete at a local meet B.O.B will definitely host again in the future! For those who are new into fitness please have more patience with the staff and facility. The one star review left not too long ago resonated with me as a fellow gym owner. We have basically no choice but to interview/filter newcomers into the gym. If we allowed anyone in the public to join we would be called a ā€œcommercial or community gymā€ band of barbells (its in the name) is the dream of making a team. The dream of teaching others how to lift properly and safely even if they donā€™t compete in powerlifting. Lastly if youā€™re new to lifting or want to get stronger or want your total in powerlifting higher and you have made the decision to start and be serious then look no further! PS. They also have LEO! One of the most jacked doggos I have ever seen. Stay strong!

Band of barbell is one of the best powerlifting gym I had visit , they have everything you need ,3 eleiko combo rack and lot of power bar (aka best combo rack on the market ). the owner Daniel was a really nice person he show me around the gym and taught me how to operate the race , and the cute dog Leo too. Most important thing is the ppl there is like a big family always being supportive.

Iā€™m not a member, but I have dropped in a couple times, Daniel and Mae are some of the nicest people i met. I herd a lot about band of barbells when I moved back to Ontario and was the first powerlifting gym I visited in the province since my return. Not only where the staff friendly, the other athletes and members were too, for someone who isnā€™t known in the community, doesnā€™t compete, I definitely felt welcome in this facility. The support the staff give the members is second to none. Itā€™s truest a big family. Very well kept, very clean (even before COVID-19) a plethora of knowledge from everyone. I definitely enjoyed my time in that gym. Anyone in the GTA limits should be going to this gym first.

Just started here 4 months ago. At first it was quite intimidating but people here are very supportive and welcoming. The equipment are great especially if you want to take powerlifting seriously; it doubles as a squat rack and bench which is a ++. Coming from a commercial gym to here was one of the best decision Iā€™ve made. If you want to feel empowered and inspired to take your training to another level. This is a good place to grow. Im currently being coached by the owner and the progress thus far has been amazing.

Band of Barbells is one of the premier powerlifting gyms in toronto and offers an amazing atmosphere for everyone and is very inclusive. They offer competition level equipment so you can always perfrom at the highest level and it will never disappoint.

  • 5/5 jeff c. 2 years ago on Google
Top of the line equipment and have never had to wait for a squat/bench rack, even at peak hours. Atmospheres incredible and everyone motivates each other to train harder. Dan's also a great coach if you're looking for one! :)

Started going here for one-on-one coaching sessions a little over a year ago as a complete beginner and highly recommend this place! I had ZERO knowledge of how to lift (never lifted in my life before) and Dan's coaching was second to none. Very methodical and really takes you step by step through the process of achieving consistent, proper form in squats, deadlift and barbell bench press. Also the equipment is high quality and the members are super nice! Never felt any judgement that I initially worried about coming into a gym for the first time. Training here has given me the knowledge and technique to lift independently and I'd highly recommend Dan's one-on-one coaching to other beginners looking to get into lifting for the first time!

This gym has it all! The best equipment, the best people. There is no where quite like it for powerlifters. The atmosphere is great, people are friendly and encouraging regardless of your level of experience. Dan and Mae are very kind hearted and professional. Iā€™m so glad I have the opportunity to train here.

Band of Barbells is an exceptional gym that provides top tier access to all the tools one would need to take their lifting to the next level. The equipment you will have access to are all top of the line to ensure that all variables are accounted for and you can focus on making leaps and bounds in your gym career. Whether you are interested in the world of powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting, or just want to start your fitness journey, Band of Barbells provides a safe space for all to feel welcome and proud to be part of a community of motivated, dedicated, & like-minded individuals. The aspect of comradery and community is the only thing that rivals the elite equipment & research based coaching you will receive (should you choose to have a lifting coach). If you decide to sign-up for Band of Barbells, do not be a stranger!

I love this gym. The atmosphere is excellent, the equipment is phenomenal, the people are friendly and encouraging, and the owners are super helpful. I really like the way the athletes amp each other up for lifts, and the comradery between the lifters. It has everything a powerlifting and weightlifting gym needs and more. They have supplements and smelling salts to which you can help yourself, high quality chalk, they let me train shirtless, often have snacks, and they even have a cute little doggy. It's very affordable as well.

Band of Barbells is the best powerlifting gym around. Best power lifting gym I have been to. It is quite spacious and they have several combo racks, barbells, and weights, so you are never waiting for equipment even during busy days. Dan is a great coach and has a deep understanding of human anatomy and uses that to teach his clients to excel at power lifting. Bonus: you get play with the gym dog, Leo.

Band of barbells is a great place to train if you are looking into/enjoy general strength training, powerlifting and olympic weightlifting! Dan, Mae and Leo are always really friendly and provide the best equipment for you to workout with. The culture of the gym is also unparalleled, people are welcoming but respect your space. Another plus is that the gym is absolutely spotless. People respect the space and clean up after their workouts. As long as you do your part the place will always look impeccable! Dan has a lot of experience if you are looking into strength training and provides excellent coaching!

Premier PL gym of Toronto. I visited once and ended up signing on for additional sessions. I like that they offer day packs for those that cannot commit to a full membership. They also offer various levels of coaching which is what I was looking for. The equipment is top notch and is well taken care of. The staff and members are very supportive and the overall environment sets one up to make great progress towards their strength goals. Definitely recommend

If youā€™re living in the GTA and need a place to either prep for a powerlifting competition, get started with powerlifting, or a great community that will push you to reach your weight training goals, Band of Barbells is the place to be. Amazing staff that are very generous and helpful. The owner Dan and Mae are a legend in their craft. Has all the equipment you need to preform at your best: combo racks, calibrated plates, dumbbells for the strongest people and a cute dog. Definitely check it out if youā€™re looking for a great gym!

As a relatively new gym-goer, generally skinny, and shy guy I was apprehensive to join a powerlifting gym. After a summer working out from home, a friend of mine convinced me to take the plunge and I'm very happy I did. From the perspective of a new member, Band of Barbells seems to me to be a community first and foremost. The whole gym says "hey" when you arrive and waves good bye when you leave. People cheer you on when you're attempting new weights regardless of if that's 80 or 300 pounds. It's clearly a welcoming and encouraging place by design and I have the utmost respect for both Dan and Mae (the owners) for fostering such a kind-hearted community.

Dan's dedication and skill with coaching is excellent! I came to Band of Barbells for coaching on my powerlifting form. He identified what needed to be improved, and with that, we worked on it. I have progressed a lot (squatting to depth, deadlifting with proper form, etc.) since I first started here, and I am very happy with how far i've come thanks to Band of Barbells. The facility is clean and well kept and the staff/members of the gym are very friendly and respectful. Definitely a great atmosphere to be in!

I am currently in personal training with Daniel and I have never felt better, stronger, more confident with weightlifting, and happier. He teaches with a holistic approach that incorporates the mind-muscle connection and science. He encourages critical thinking that allows me to be aware of how my body moves and ways to support it to get the perfect athletic form for every part of the weightlifting movement I am engaging with. On top of this, Daniel teaches accessory movements that will amplify my muscle groups. I leave each session feeling mentally and physically fulfilled. On top of that, he and his partner, Mei, have created a clean, friendly and welcoming environment to work out in. They also bring my favourite personal trainer, Leo (the most jacked pup), to make my mornings that much more enjoyable. If you are looking for quality service at a local, family owned gym, this is the place to go!

This gym is awesome! Everybody is so kind and welcoming and all the coaches are very knowledgeable! Dan and Mae have both been very encouraging and open to any questions I have regarding the gym and equipment. SPEAKING OF EQUIPMENT, I have never been to a gym that has such high quality bars, plates, and machines before coming to BoB. If youā€™re looking for a gym with HIGH quality equipment, an incredible training atmosphere with an outstanding support network, and a place to take powerlifting seriously come to BoB!

Band of Barbells is an amazing gym with an amazing community. Iā€™ve only been going once a week on the weekends over the last 10 weeks, but the people Iā€™ve met have been some of the friendliest and supportive people Iā€™ve met along my fitness journey. They have all the powerlifting and weightlifting equipment you need, and the facility is well kept and clean. As someone who is still new to powerlifting, Band of Barbells has been such a nonjudgmental and safe space to train at šŸ˜Š

Joining Band of Barbells was one of the best decisions Iā€™ve ever made! Initially it was a bit intimidating, but I came to quickly realize how supportive and welcoming everyone is! After working out here for a little over a year, Iā€™ve come to realize itā€™s more than just a gym, itā€™s a community and the energy and support is truly unmatched.

Joining Bands of Barbells is the best decision I ever made! Since joining and working with Dan I've gotten so much stronger, put on muscle and even competed. But what's more important is that I really enjoy training here. The people and energy at this gym is like no other. Everyone is super friendly and respectful. All the members do their part in keeping the gym tidy so you don't have to worry about reracking someone else's weights. If you are new to powerlifting Dan does an amazing job at teaching the fundamentals. If you are already a powerlifter this place has everything you need from top of the line equipment to like minded people striving towards the same goals. On top of all that, the water here is triple filtered so what more can you ask for?! ;)

Great powerlifting gym in Toronto! Mae and Dan created friendly community & environment for all levels to enjoy. As a beginner, I was initially nervous about trying out a powerlifting gym, but I felt comfortable pretty fast since everyone is so welcoming and encouraging! Iā€™ve been doing personal training with Dan for a few months now - he is a great coach and is very thorough in his lessons. He explains every step of the lift, why each specific movement is done, goes through exercises that improve mind-muscle connection, and highlights cues you need to keep in mind while lifting. He incorporates explaining the anatomy and physiology involved in each movement, which helps me understand the importance of lifting properly and effectively (and how to do so safely!) The gym itself is nice, itā€™s always clean and is full of equipment thatā€™s also used in competitions so you feel pretty awesome when lifting, no matter the weight. Also, if I could give bonus stars I would because Leo (the strongest and snuggliest dog) is there with plenty of cuddles to go around šŸ„°

My coworker convinced me to try powerlifting and have recommended Band of Barbells. After checking out the place, I immediately fell in love with the environment. Itā€™s very spacious, tons of weightlifting equipment similar to the ones they use in competitions. The warm and friendly environment encouraged me to sign up and ever since then Iā€™ve been training with Coach Daniel. Heā€™s very knowledgeable and passionate when it comes to teaching. He really goes in-depth when he teaches powerlifting which will make you appreciate the tiniest of details. There are lots of things to learn for sure! Once you learned about being efficient in lifting, youā€™ll never go back. Every time I go to BoB to train, the people surrounding you will hype you up so you can push more. Band of Barbells is the place to be!

Great little hidden gem in Scarborough. This gym is definitely geared towards powerlifting or Olympic lifting style of exercise. Tons of barbells (hence the name) and weights to lift to your heart's content at any part of the day (it's a key fob gym). I signed up here initially because it was within walking distance from my place but honestly I don't think I will find any other gym better than this one in Scarb. Initially, I was worried that there won't be enough space given how it felt smaller than the gyms I used to go. However, I have never had any issue finding the space to lift weights and I came here pretty much during all times of the day (early morn, mid day, afterwork hours, late nights). I love the effort the owners and the fellow gym goers put in to keep the space clean. Above all, I think the biggest strength of this gym is the gym's culture. Pretty much everyone I have met here are supportive and respectful, and the positive energy here is very contagious. I'd say the only downside is the fact that parking lot space during busy times can be limited (but the street parking is available nearby).

Easily the best powerlifting gym in Ontario if not all of Canada. Everyone here is nice and super supportive. The owner Dan and his wife Mae are super, Dan is also the best coach you can ask for and heā€™s coached many powerlifters that have gone off to compete at IPF worlds. Definitely the gym to go to if you are looking to get into powerlifting or just want actually like the experience of going to a gym.

If you powerlift in Toronto and you donā€™t train at BoB youā€™re missing out. This place is so beautiful and the members are some of the nicest people. The owners are dedicated to provide a great environment for people to train in and they have filled the gym with some of the best equipment in the world! For a novice like me, BoB is the perfect place to start my fitness journey. BoBā€™s atmosphere, training program, and staff made it easy. BoBā€™s atmosphere is very welcoming, friendly and motivating. BoBā€™s equipment are in excellent condition and clean. BoBā€™s have strict sanitation protocols and adhere to social distancing which is excellent during the current pandemic. I am currently enrolled in their strength training program and so far I am enjoying it. I learned to be more in tuned with my body, a long with learning good form and technique, and feel more confident with the movements. Overall, I would highly recommend Band of Barbells to anyone!

One of the best powerlifting gyms in Toronto! Not only does Band of Barbellā€™s have premier competition equipment, but the owners have put a lot of effort into creating a great atmosphere that is welcoming for both new and experienced lifters. With the pandemic still being present, the owners Dan and Mae have put a lot of resources into keeping equipment clean and sanitized to ensure that members feel safe! I would most definitely recommend Band of Barbellā€™s to anyone that is looking for a gym that is both well equipped and safe!

Managment of the Gym on the reopening during covid has handles very professionally. Excellent communication by staff to the members has been very well thought out and practical compared to some of the other gyms I've been to recently. Band of Barbells is truly one of the best powerlifting/weightlifting gyms of the GTA. It has a huge selection of Eleiko and Rogue equipment, along with other strength training machines. The owners (Dan and Mae) work extremely hard to maintain all the equipment, keep a robust schedule of cleaning and sanitizing, and most importantly, they make you feel welcome. The owners and members of the gym are friendly and create a comfortable environment for everyone. I feel extremely safe training here given the current circumstances and would highly recommend to all!

Band of Barbells has the best vibe! I was welcomed to the family about a month ago. Everyone has been so kind and helpful. My favourite thing about Band of Barbells is the energy! My first week I got to see a few lifters test maxes and I felt like I was at a comp. It is amazing to lift with like minded, strong, motivated people. Not to mention one of the cutest gym dogs I know...Leo! If you are looking for an amazing place to train, Band of Barbells should be your next stop.

Dan and Mae are running an amazing environment for anyone looking to get stronger or healthier. Everyone is respectful of the place and the environment. any time in there is always a fun time cause everyone's supporting you with your training. Edit: It's been a wonderful first year at BoB, I have progressed more than I could have imagined within a year time frame before this and I attribute a lot of that to the environment, knowledge base, and community that keeps pushing you to be better every day you train there. Would not reccomend any other training space in the GTA outside of Band of Barbells! it is a must visit location for anyone truly serious or passionate about lifting. Looking forward to returning to the facility when things open back up Aug 1st!!!

I have gotten to know the owners personally over the years, and to say this place is like any other gym would be wrong. This is like a second home. Daniel and Mae ensure every member feels comfortable when coming to the gym. They always go out of their way to show they care for their members, a prime example of this was when they lent out their equipment to members during the lockdown. If I could give 6 stars I would.

One word: ELEIKO. This is one of the strongest and most friendly gyms around with top tier equipment for powerlifting and weightlifting. The owners, Daniel and Mae, have built a gym that reflects their love for strength sports and the communities in them. They are strong, the members here are strong and everyone is very welcoming.

A very neat, clean training facility that is well equipped with competition-grade equipment. Weightlifter and powerlifter friendly, they have bumpers, irons, platforms, a substantial number of combo racks, and power racks. Along with all the smaller necessities (bands, rollers etc.) thereā€™s also a filtered hot/cold water station! The owners and members are all extremely friendly and inclusive (hint: if you ask nicely you can also use the microwave)

Band of Barbells is the best gym that the east side of the GTA has to offer. Even though I am not a member, every time I have come to visit (which is very often) they have treated me as if I was part of the gym family myself. The people at the gym take pride in the facility they train in, and it shows in the cleanliness and professionalism. I come time and time again to this gym as the equipment present is top tier,Ā the owners are friendly and welcoming,Ā and the members make lifting fun. Whether you're training for your next competition, or training just for fun, the atmosphere that BoB presents is one like no other! Can't wait to be back to my second gym again!

Band of barbells is the MECCA of powerlifting in the GTA Best equipment out there and the most hype environment Iā€™ve been in! Donā€™t be intimated. The members are very kind and always welcoming! Definitely the best place place to go if you want to explore or get into powerlifting

I have been a member at BoB for almost a year now and itā€™s the best gym experience I have had. I have been to many big box gyms and even local gyms but nothing compares to what the owner Daniel Remulla has built. From the competition grade equipment, countless kilo plates, and overall atmosphere, Band of Barbells is a place for the best of the best and any level of barbell enthusiast. Definitely would recommend to anyone and everyone.

Dan and Mae have created a really great community through Band of Barbells. The space, equipment, and feeling of being a part of a community makes BoB stand out from commercial gyms. Would definitely recommend others to visit, especially if they're in the powerlifting/Olympic lifting crowd!

I've been a member at band of barbells since December 2019 and I am very happy with making the shift to commercial gyms to a top notch training facility like B.O.B. Dan and Mae made sure to have two of the most important things a gym needs: top of the line equipment and a great training atmosphere. As long as you follow the rules no one is gonna give you a hard time about chalking or deadlifting too loud. The community is great, once you're in.. you're in ;)

Band of Barbells is more than just a gym: it is an established community dedicated to providing the best for its members. Whether it be their high quality gym equipment (i.e., Eleiko racks/bars/plates, Ohio Power Bars, Safety Squat Bar, etc.) or their interactive social events (e.g., Thanksgiving and Christmas parties), you can rest assured that you are part of the family when you decide to join this gym. Dan and Mae (the gym owners) are selfless in their acts towards their members, and it shows through the community that is growing. I have been a member since May 2019, and I could not have made a better decision. I highly recommend this gym - especially if you are a Powerlifter!

From a person with very little experience, this is by far one of the best places to find growth in your lifting career. Varying from equipment, community, and overall environment. You wonā€™t find many places like this.

Great gym! As an individual who has been a member of multiple gyms, Band of Barbells is hands down the best gym in the GTA! Clean facility, great community, friendly staff, and top of the line equipment! Would 100% recommend Band of Barbells!

Working out at Band of Barbells is more than just getting in an exercise. The community established by Dan & Mae encourages hitting personal records, beginner or advanced, while aligning with current Covid protocols. There is always someone willing to be your spot should you need one. It truly is a healthy, inviting and motivating gym. Havenā€™t been anywhere like this and it will be a long time before I even think about looking elsewhere.

This gym is hands down the best powerlifting gym in the GTA! Dan and Mae put a lot of work into not only supplying the gym with the best equipment, but also the supportive community theyā€™ve built since its opening. Always a great time there - highly recommend esp for a hype training session!

Best gym Iā€™ve ever been to! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. I love the atmosphere, everyones drive to improve is infectious. Not to mention sooo clean! There are wipes and disinfectants everywhere. Dan and Mae are very particular about cleanliness. They care a lot about taking care of their gym and the health and safety of its members. Also gym doggo is cute (:

This is the best place on earth. Physically, Band of Barbells has top notch equipment, with powerlifting competition standard racks, many platforms and brand new machines. The real reason to come to this gym is the incredible community that Dan and Mae have built. Unique to this gym, even when I was learning technique with the bar and the guy next to me was team Canada athlete squatting 500+ pounds, I have never once felt weak. Every single person who trains is passionate about barbell sports and it creates a positive energy from the minute you walk in. As well, there are just as many female athletes who train here as men. The support of the community made here cannot be understated. I am also coached by the owner, Dan Remulla, and have seen immense shoot up in my numbers in the short period I have worked with him. He is kind, knowledgeable and always ready to help. Dan and Mae, thank you.

Great gym, great space, and even better community. Dan and Mae have tested something special with Band of Barbells and I was glad to be a part of its infancy. I definitely would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone who's looking for a dedicated powerlifting gym and community.

šŸ«¤ This gym was pretty reasonable for a while, given the perks of the black card membership.
