I've seen this place multiple times in passing and I was finally able to stop in. Getting straight to the point, I will definitely be back. Everything I tried tasted amazing. Great vibe inside and out. Quick service and kind servers. Perfect place to study, relax, or wait for the bus. My ONLY complaint was that the bread for my sandwich was a little tough, but the sandwich was still really tasty. There are a bunch of cool things on the menu that I'm looking forward to try. Again, definitely going back! Update 7/2021: Still amazing. In the interim since my last review, I've had the breakfast sandwich twice and it's amazing. 6 stars if I could.

I had a delivery to the business located in the back of the building. I went to the coffee shop first hoping it was theirs because it was freezing out and I wanted a warm beverage. The nice ladies let me know it wasn't their delivery and to try the business in back. I told them I'd be back for something warm! I did my delivery and came right back. They were so kind to offer me a free coffee and I tried to decline but they wouldn't take no for answer. So, I bought a banana and coconut scone and tipped the price of my cappuccino. Let me tell you...I wish I had bought an extra cappuccino with my free one because it was INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS... And my scone πŸ‘€πŸ‘€πŸ‘€ o...m...g... The best tasting addition to a beverage I've ever had. I was so upset I only had one of each. I will be back and I'm buying every scone available! Everyone needs to go here at least once before they die! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£ See you soon!!

I recently visited Hexe Coffee shop and was blown away by the experience. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the cozy and inviting atmosphere. The interior design is beautiful, with comfortable seating and warm lighting. The coffee and food were both outstanding. The coffee had a rich and full-bodied flavor, and the food was fresh and delicious. I tried the grilled cheese and it was one of the best l've ever had. The staff were also incredibly friendly and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend Hexe Coffee shop for anyone looking for a fantastic coffee and food experience in a welcoming environment.

Their fall campfire latte was really robust in flavor. There was a line and the staff was handling it with care and at a breezy pace. We got a bit to eat aswell which really hit the spot. Overall it was a nice experience. :)

This review is long overdue. Hexe is everything I could want in a cafe - gorgeous decor, delicious drinks and gluten free pastries, devious events and seriously good music (Siouxsie, The Damned - probably the only place in Lakeview where I can sit down and basically listen to my own playlist). In the 4 years I've been coming here, I've never had a less than amazing experience. I will happily continue to spend all of my money here and encourage you all to do the same πŸ–€!

Cute local coffee shop. I recently grabbed coffee and a pastry and enjoyed my experience. The inside is SUPER small, but there is a good amount of seating. The staff were friendly and effective. There is no parking, so plan ahead if you are driving. You pretty much have to find street parking.

Adding another 5-star review to this well-managed joint. Better than your usual Starbucks. Excellent coffee and specialty cocktails crafted at a fair price. First time trying their Hot Toddy and Irish Coffee. Will be sure to try others next time.

The coffee, baked goods and atmosphere are all fantastic. My kids like the (giant) chocolate chip cookie and chocolate skull cake. My husband and I like the savory breakfast sandwiches. I love treating myself to some quiet time on the patio with an Irish coffee.

One of my pet peeves of Chicago is that most coffee shops close early. For students like me, caffeine and ambiance are everything. Today, I searched for a coffee shop that did not close at 3 PM like most, and I came across this gem. I found the place inviting, with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. I ordered a lavender chocolate latte. Few shops have lavender-flavored coffee, and I’m glad this place has its ownβ€” house-made. I will be back as they close at 7:30 PM daily.

Love the atmosphere and how dark it was. It was a cold day when I went so I got the Irish coffee to warm up and it was amazing. Also had to pick-up a bag to take back home with me and had to grab one of the cakes cause how could you not

Once I saw the patio with lights I had to seize the opportunity to go here faster than the FBI seized NYC’s Mayor Adams’ electronics. The ambiance is second to none. Outside you get the great spacious patio under all the lights Kanye was singing about. Inside has a cool hipster vibe. They have barrels of beer for display, cool light fixtures and massive windows to let the sun shine it’s rays on you while you grind away on your work or studies. They offer alcohol which already is a differentiator when it comes to coffee shops. Sometimes if the work is hard, the drink needs to be harder. They were serving fruity spiked slushies when I was there and want to try that when I go back. I got the iced chai tea latte and the oatmeal raisin cookie and could not recommend this enough! The cookie was soft, warm and had the perfect ratio of sweetness. The Chai helped center my Chi and had me cheesing throughout the rest of the day!

Really enjoying this cafe after having stopped by to hang out and get some reading done. The ambiance throughout the day is wonderful and at night they seem to light candles which makes for a good vibe. It’s got a darker, somewhat quirky, victorian interior. They have all the typical coffee beverages which are great, teas, delicious baked goods, sandwiches, and alcoholic drinks as well that look well made. They check a lot of boxes for whatever you’re looking for at any given moment. I strongly recommend Hexe! Only downside is that, at least so far in the winter, it gets a little chilly inside.

Really superb establishment… Absolute professionals, and what they do here. Dog friendly, very upscale and reasonable, coffee and snacks. I highly recommend this location!

The atmosphere here is amazing. I have been here several times and every time the staff has been amazing. The pastries are fresh and delicious and the espresso is very good. I highly recommend checking this place out and unlike many cafes it is open into the evening.

Solid coffee and pastries. I love that they have cortados here. Outdoor patio is really nice, despite the busy intersection. Their coffee beans are excellent! I got a bag of their Ethiopia and it was deliciously juicy and bright.

Really love the vibe and menu at Hexe! Their main blend coffee is really well balanced and enjoyable. They have many bakery options that are Vegan and Gluten Free. The baristas are helpful and kind. The outdoor seating is comfy and in a great location to soak up some sun in the morning. Would recommend!

Vibe is top notch here! I got their espresso and vegan skull. The espresso was a little bitter to my liking but enjoyed their skull with how sweet it was. Staff was more than delightful in having me. Spent over $8 altogether. Will need to come back!

Super cute coffee shop! Staff is very friendly and work quickly. I ordered the chai latte and it was SO GOOD. I like my chai really sweet and I loved the foamed milk on top it was so fluffy. Dine in is available with proof of vaccination card.

I stopped in here real quick on my way to Ulta and I wish I found this place sooner. The baristas were super knowledgeable and they helped me select the best bag of whole beans. My drink was a surprise me cortado and super delicious! Will definitely be back to sit outside in the summer.

I love this place. The coffee is really good and the menu is creative. The pastries (in particular the savory ones) are incredible and always hit the spot. I love that they also serve cocktails, but I’ve yet to try any. My favorite part of this place is the dark/witchy vibe to it, complete with framed spiders and creepy sketches around the room. Even more amazing than the inside is the patio! Tons of space and dog friendly :) Don’t miss the savory scone!

Stopped here on the way to my barbershop and this might turn into a regular part of my haircut routine. Got an oat milk latte (pictures below) that was phenomenal. Great service and great atmosphere to get some work done.

Great spot. Good coffee at a reasonable price. Tried two croissants, one sweet and one savory, both were delicious. Will definitely come back.

Great coffee, but the pastries are a bigger reason for me to go here. The savory rolls are delicious and the brioche pastries that they make are usually very good. I like their choc chip cookies, especially if you catch them warm out of the oven. The tea cakes are very good too. They have some gf and vegan options but are made/displayed with all other products (not celiac friendly). The patio is nice and they often have events outside. It helps to check their IG for that and menu updates as pastries change frequently. Cool place!

Spacious outdoor area and seating, dogs allowed. Coffee tasted pretty standard. Wifi wasn't working when I was there...

Awesome coffee shop!!! The atmosphere and feel of this place is perfect! Super friendly batista made the experience even better! We got Hazelnut and Vanilla lattes and they were delicious. Will definitely be back next time we're in Chicago!

Recommend: the atmosphere looks great, and seems like many people do come here for that, seen lots of folks with kids and pets come here. Their barrel aged cold brew is great and pastries looked amazing.

Coming from out of town and this place is a hidden gem. Great aesthetic and prices. Love the music and ambiance. The parking is pretty bad though. Make sure to get there early

This place desires 5-stars solely for its outdoor seating area!! So spacious and plenty of seating. Really slick location. Inside is so unique and such a vibe!! Recommend going here at least once to try their baked goods- I had a creamsicle Bundt cake thing that was delish!! All coffee- flavored or not β€” is like $4-5, which is pretty straight forward and not ridiculously overpriced. Also have alcohol available, tea, kombucha, and other goodies!

Very cool coffee spot. Their brand is so thoughtful and carries through the entire experience. From the skull-shaped breakfast pastries, to the innovative coffee-inspired cocktails and beautiful packaging, the entire experience was impressive. I order an iced chai latte and breakfast sandwich. Everything was exceptional and delicious. Friendly and helpful staff, quick service, beautiful patio. There is some parking behind the shop (enter off Clybourn) and street parking is free.

3.1 stars. Review after a 45 minutes wait for a cappuccino and a cookie. I wasn't impressed with ordering process or fulfillment. The cashier was taking orders, ringing register and bringing out some orders. Labor day weekend Sunday at 10am the line was 25+ customers deep. No manager helped to expedite or move things along. All 4 employees were moving at their own pace. From a sanitary perspective, it appears hairnets should have been worn by some staff- but weren't. Gender neutral bathrooms okay, a C+. Nice swag available. T-shirts make nice gifts. Cookie was good and pastries looked great. Cappuccino was beautiful but unremarkable...after what seemed like an eternity. I wish them well but I probably won't go back. Street parking on Clybourn is possible... BTW, Hexe is the German word for witch.

Stopped in here for the first time and was impressed as soon as I walked in. Super cool space with great atmosphere and vibe. Had the egg sausage sandwich to go and wished I could have stuck around. I’ll definitely be back to soak all in.
